Since the stench of decomposition would probably have been fairly noticeable, one might wonder why the woman wasn't more cautious about opening the door.

* In ''VideoGame/MetroidPrime3'', at one point Samus opens a door on the wrecked and abandoned GFS Valhalla, at which point a the corpse of a deceased soldier is standing on the opposite side to greet her, then immediately crumbles to dust.

The sight of the bones makes Mr. Incredible recoil in horror, before he discovers that Gazerbeam carved into the walls the password for Syndrome's database.
