Furthermore, one should best keep the Parent Trap plot separate from the Romeo and Juliet plot, especially as the latter has been recycled even more often than "The Parent Trap".

No, Romeo and Juliet does not fit the trope. For them the feud has been going on for as long as they can remember and far from being pals or playmates, they are complete strangers to each other at the beginning of the play. And they don't engage in shenanigans to bring the two sets of parents back together (assuming they had ever been together in the first place), but to become husband and wife (the reconciliation of their families is a possible desirable side-effect, but the marriage in itself is the important thing). Also, the feud entailed several killings, so you can't in all honesty apply the word "silly" anymore.
