* Rachel in WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic never got to be a fan of anything, even though the real Rachel is a massive Tolkien nerd. Tamara and Malcolm got to enjoy stuff though.

This girl is the Nerd Nanny, and how she winds up living with a bunch of lazy guys is a mystery. Even more amazing is the fact that the guys [[NotDistractedByTheSexy never seem to notice how frickin hot she is]], unless some story-driving {{UST}} is needed. She is constantly trying to motivate the {{Non Action Guy}}s to do ''anything'', sometimes even to pay attention to her, but they usually won't have any of it. Fortunately for our male castmembers, she almost never leaves them for a different housing situation, because if she did--well, [[AllMenArePerverts who would want to watch a show without hot chicks in it]]? AmIRight?

Note the guys don't always have to be nerds. Any reason to be [[TheCouch couch-ridden]] also works (e.g. drugs, lazyness, etc.).

This character is popular in webcomics and sitcoms, but is present in other genres as well.

* Kristen Bell's character in ''Film/{{Fanboys}}''. Averted in that she's a fangirl herself, but she seems much more on the ball than all of the title fanboys.

** Sheldon is the only one who's truly oblivious to her attractiveness, so it's not the straightest example of the trope. However, even when Leonard starts an off and on relationship with her, he's still easily distracted by comic books/Star Trek conventions/video games/whatever other nerdish pastime the others are getting up to.

* Jen from ''Series/TheITCrowd''. She's hired to be the IT team's HR manager. It turns out she knows nothing about computers and relatively little about how to be socially successful, but compared to her two (sometimes three) IT nerds, she's ''usually'' the normal one.

It turns out manager, but it soon becomes clear that while she knows nothing about computers doesn't share Roy and relatively little about how to be socially successful, but compared to her two (sometimes three) IT nerds, Moss' "nerdy" interests, she's ''usually'' the normal one. not really any more functional than they are.

* Played with in ''Manga/{{Genshiken}}''. Otaku-hating Saki dates Kohsaka and essentially plays a lot of this trope to the hilt, but her status as a character like this is part of the plot. Ohno, on the other hand, is a total otaku like the other men in the club, with Saki playing the same role to her.

* Played with in ''Manga/{{Genshiken}}''. Otaku-hating Saki dates Kohsaka and essentially plays a lot of this trope straight to some extent in the early episodes, but she mellows when it becomes clear that her controlling and abrasive approach isn't doing anyone any favors. The gender ratio also evens out after otakus Ohno and (reluctantly) Oguie are added to the hilt, but her status as a character like this is part of cast, and after Ohno becomes club president the plot. Ohno, on club becomes majority-female by a wide margin, so the other hand, is usual gender dynamics are less of a total otaku like the other men in the club, with Saki playing the same role to her.factor as time goes on.
