Ric is now more or less PersonaNonGrata in WWE since the "Plane Ride From Hell" [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGgYahBuZi4 episode]] of ''Series/DarkSideOfTheRing'' hit the airwaves (and later signing with Wrestling/{{AEW}} won't help),[[note]]On the other hand Charlotte's husband Wrestling/AndradeCienAlmas returned to WWE from AEW in the 2024 Royal Rumble match, so any fears of her leaving to join him in Jacksonville can be put to rest[[/note]] and WWE thinks they've found a new female megastar in Wrestling/RheaRipley, so Charlotte's run on top might be about finished.

* Dr. Luther isn't the only one, cronyism is pretty rampant in AEW and is the main reason for their bloated roster. The two most blatant examples would probably be Brandon Cutler and Michael Nakazawa, who are the stooges of Wrestling/TheYoungBucks and Wrestling/KennyOmega (respectively), though like Dr. Luther above both men are mainly used underneath. Still, some fans have dubbed the company "[[EmbarrassingNickname All Friends Wrestling]]", which contrary to popular belief was not coined by Wrestling/JimCornette... but by Wrestling/CodyRhodes when he was describing what he ''didn't want'' AEW to be.[[note]]Cornette can take credit for "All Petite Wrestling" though.[[/note]] Rhodes, unsurprisingly, left AEW to go back to WWE as soon as he was able.

Can be one of the ways for someone to end up in the WrongLineOfWork, if they're incompetent in the field their relative puts them in. The opposite of this trope is CoattailRidingRelative. In general, Nepotism may be an expected payback if someone who was VicariouslyAmbitious helped get somebody else into a position of power. When an authority figure deliberately tries to avoid this, they're engaging in AntiNepotism.
