-->Mortadelo: (to Filemón, who is in the air after getting punched this way) Boss! You can fly?

Megaton Punch is not "Very strong attack". It's a comedic trope.

* In VideoGame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim, there's a formula where if you do overkill damage to someone or something, the extra damage is converted into force. While normally this force isn't too much when dealt by players, the Giants take this to its veritable extreme. It's less Megaton Punch and more Megaton Club, though. Players be warned: if you happen to see a Giant around and they are charging towards you, beat feet and hope there's another NPC to stall them... temporarily. More than likely, the NPC will be unwillingly enrolling in Skyrim's version of UsefulNotes/TheSpaceRace and becoming ATwinkleInTheSky. If there's no NPC or follower to stall them, YOU will be the one becoming ATwinkleInTheSky. Luckily, if you DO become Skyrim's first astronaut, thank the Divines that you'll already be dead before you even lift off (but only by a millisecond).

How is that an aversion of Megaton Punch? How is it related to the trope in any way for that matter?

* Pick a Popeye cartoon, and half the time, after pummeling the bad guy into a bruised, battered shell of a man (or woman... or alien...), Popeye will deliver one last, huge punch, often with humorous results upon landing.
* In an episode of TheAngryBeavers, Dag picks on his brother everyday until finally, Norbert gets so furious he literally punches Dag into last week...repeatedly. Finally, Dag ends up making him promise not to do it again, then accidentally ruins the end of his movie by spoiling the ending. Norbert keeps his word and doesn't punch him into last week. Instead... well, this quote will explain it.

Unless it passed through the Trope Repair Shop, you don\'t get to redefine tropes to suit your own interpretations.

This is usually an adaptation of a one-panel gag the animators end up having fun with, although the usual treatment is to make it so over the top that it's not mistaken for real violence. However, in a more serious version, this can be used for the finishing move. In-order to end the fight and make sure they don't come back.

Compare ArmorPiercingSlap, which this trope is often combined with, or HyperspaceMallet for another option an angry anime girl might try. If they're using a weapon of some sort, they may be a HomeRunHitter instead. Not to be confused with RocketPunch, although it's only a matter of time before the two are combined. May cause a NoseBleed if hit in the face, or if the character is being punched for seeing his attacker naked. If the victim is, in fact, completely and utterly innocent of such things and nothing naughty happened then it's an UnprovokedPervertPayback.
