When the commercial winds up being aired in a 3am timeslot due to a station executive's misleading contract[[note]]The exec promised TJ that it would be aired between 8 and 10. He didn't mention until the contract was finalized that he'd meant [[ExactWords 8pm to 10am]][[/note]], TJ breaks into the studio and sets the the computer to play it during "Sunday prime" instead. Unfortunately, this results in the cheap, SoBadItsGood commercial being played during the ''Superbowl'', where it quickly achieves in-universe [[MemeticMutation memetic status]] while costing the station millions in ad-revenue.

* The Mayor's commercial for Sardine Land in ''CloudyWithAChanceOfMeatballs''. The animators went the extra mile to make it look as cheap as possible, even faking the worst blue-screen effects possible in a medium that doesn't even require it.

* ''WebVideo/LoadingReadyRun'' would show cheesy commercials advertising the various odd products and product combinations one store was supposedly selling. Many episodes later the business's owner shows up for the filming of an ad and it turns out that he is just a simple accountant and the ads were meant to advertise his accounting practice. Apparently the ad producers decided that this would be boring and made up the various products and services he provided. The poor guy's reputation has been destroyed by all this blatant false advertising and he is begging the producers to stop making more ads.
