Subtrope of BearHug. Not necessarily given by a [[BearsAreBadNews killer bear]]. Compare DeadlyHug, where the hug is more of a distraction for the killing tool (like a gun or knife) while here the hug itself is the weapon. If a Killer Bear Hug is accidental, that is a case of AndCallHimGeorge.

* During the "Bread and Circuses" arc of ''ComicBook/BatmanNoMansLand'', one of ComicBook/ThePenguin's [[BigBeautifulWoman female]] minions almost crushes Batman with a bearhug.

* This trope is how [[spoiler:Jiaying's husband Calvin]] kills her in ''Series/AgentsOfSHIELD'' once he realizes that she's gone completely off the rails.

* ''LightNovel/ThatTimeIGotReincarnatedAsASlime'': True Demon Lord [[spoiler:[[VampireMonarch Luminous Valentine]]]] has the Skill [Embracing Drain], where she grabs her target in a bear hug and [[EnergyAbsorption drains the energy out of them to replenish her own]]. This Demon Lord also has an Intrinsic Skill called [Steel Strength] and could easily rip a person apart like paper, and even if her target is tough enough to avoid that fate the technique sends pain signals directly into a target's ''soul'' to bypass physical defenses, meaning they ''will'' be screaming in agony even if they might FeelNoPain otherwise.

The most important thing is that they don't get their arms around anyone as they'll use that strength to crush their target to a pulp. Sure enough, this is exactly what happens to Jacob, the only one of the defending side to be hurt.

They can both kill people [[KillItWithIce by holding onto them in their elemental forms until their victim freezes to death or dies of hypothermia]], making it a literal and lethal CooldownHug.

* PlayedWith in ''Manga/OnePiece'' by Monet. She does hug people and it does kill them, but not from crushing. Monet ate the Snow-Snow Fruit, [[ElementalShapeshifter letting her turn into snow]]. She can kill people [[KillItWithIce by holding onto them in snow form until they die of hypothermia]], making it a literal and lethal CooldownHug.

* In ''LightNovel/{{Overlord}}'', Ainz Ooal Gown deals with the sadistic Clementine, who was responsible for slaughtering the Swords of Darkness, in this fashion, crushing her to death specifically to make it a CruelAndUnusualDeath and draws out the experience for her in revenge for how sadistically she killed them. A fountain of HighPressureBlood escapes from Clementine's mouth as Ainz finishes with her, and in the LightNovel, it gets a lot more gruesome.

* Pat Fusty from ''[[VideoGame/BloonsTowerDefense Bloons TD 6]]'' can perform this on MOAB-Class bloons with his skill, Big Squeeze. When using it, he destroys a blimp ( or multiple blimps at max level) with a hug.

** [[AuthorityEqualsAsskicking Kotal Kahn]] has the "Tight Squeeze" fatality, which involves gripping his victim in a bear hug so tight that the victim's head ''[[YourHeadASplode explodes]]'', squeezing out the rest of [[{{Gorn}} their blood and innards out like toothpaste]].
