Amusingly when Jonathan runs out to start up the car so they can escape and runs into a mob of them, he uses the chant himself to get them to halt their attack and ignore him.

* A variant in ''Film/{{Freaks}}'': The famous "one of us" chant comes from a titular freaks accepting Cleo as someone who ''has'' joined them, whether she likes it or not. The difference is the context. The first time, they meant it in a friendly way since she was marrying a friend of theirs that they considered family. Usually, whenever there's a story that involves a malevolent force that can subjugate others through supernatural means. Those affected will, of course, go after those they usually know, often droning "join us" in some fashion or at the least try to sales pitch how great being under the power of said force is. Sometimes zombie-like, or just as a way to really showcase [[NotHimself the victims aren't themselves]]. Granted, this won't make for a convincing argument since the victim's target will be less than willing to take the offer, but it nevertheless does a good job in showcasing the threat of said force. Think of it like peer pressure, only ''much'' more scary.

** ''Film/TheFaculty'': The alien queen [[spoiler: Marybeth aka]] tries to convince Casey to join the alien horde she is developing via infecting humans, citing he won't be persecuted due to being a geek. Naturally he isn't interested.
