For "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", Roy Disney is joined by MickeyMouse, who provides insight on the filming of the short. Later, DonaldDuck crashes the commentary track for his segment, "Pomp and Circumstance", but mostly he complains that he didn't get a song to sing.

Fleshed out the intro paragraph

Cast from a show or movie are giving commentary using the characters they play as their voices.

to:

Cast from a show DVDCommentary is cool and all, but sometimes it can get tiring hearing the director or movie are giving producer just drone on and on and on and on... Sure, it provides some interesting insight into the development of the film, but it's also ''[[NapInducingSpeak mind-numblingly boring]]''!

Solution? Stick an actor in front of the mic and have them do the entire
commentary using track in character. While this can be more entertaining then regular commentary, it runs the characters they play as their voices.

risk of being less informative about the film-making process. Some movies do both, making sure that there is something for everyone.

A SubTrope of DVDCommentary. A form of BreakingTheFourthWall. It can also be LeaningOnTheFourthWall if the movie is treated like it was made in-universe.
