* ''Franchise/FireEmblem'' has many examples, though in most games the player can arrange for a wide variety of hook-ups other than the ones that are implied to be "correct."
** Julia or Lana for Seliph in ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemJugdral Genealogy of the Holy War]]'', though the former is Jossed upon [[spoiler:Seliph finding out they're related, unless [[GoodBadBugs you keep her and Seliph glued to each other until she's captured]]. It's more blatant in the Oosawa Mitsuki manga adaptation, though]].
** Lilina for Roy in ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemElibe The Sealed Sword]]''. They have ShipTease moments even outside of support conversations (mostly Lilina making it blatantly obvious that she has feelings for him, with Roy [[ObliviousToLove just not catching on]]), their support chain is one of the fastest in any game and getting them to A-rank alters the ending, and one of the CG images in the music player depicts their first meeting as children. This even got two nods in ''The Blazing Blade''; one in Hector's B-support with Eliwood, which has him dreaming of his not-yet-born daughter playing with an unborn Roy in the future, and him getting supremely annoyed at the possibility that he may lose his daughter to Eliwood's son, and the other in the epilogue, which shows the above-mentioned first encounter in cutscene form. Furthermore, [[https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Ck-qvvEWEAAk55F.jpg:large an attention-grabbing card]] was made for the official ''Fire Emblem 0 (Cipher)'' card game.
** Ninian for Eliwood in ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemElibe The Blazing Sword]]'', supported by the fact that Ninian is canonically in love with him. Nino and Jaffar also count, as do Hector and Lyndis, especially in [[PerspectiveFlip Hector's own story]].
** Either Prince Innes or Seth the Paladin for Eirika in ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemTheSacredStones The Sacred Stones]]''. [[ShipToShipCombat Discuss with caution]]. And of course there's a very loud segment of the fan base that would insist on adding her brother Ephraim to that list, [[IncestSubtext and the game itself doesn't help]].

** Like Eirika, Chrom from ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening Awakening]]'' gets two -- Sumia and the Female Avatar. [[ShipToShipCombat Again, discuss with caution.]] The Male Avatar also has one of these in Lucina.
** [[DanceBattler Azura]] from ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemFates Fates]]'' is this for the Male Avatar. They get a lot of ShipTease on all three routes, and Azura has ''three'' unique {{Love Confession}}s and Support chains with him, compared to everyone else's one.
** For a non-protagonist example, Selena and Subaki in the ''Revelation'' route of ''Fates'' are considered this because she gets an extra scene and dialogue as the mother of Subaki's daughter Caeldori, [[spoiler:and because Caeldori's status as a blatant {{Expy}} of Selena/Severa's mother Cordelia makes much more sense when it can be called a StrongFamilyResemblance with her grandmother]].
** Arguably, also Prince Takumi and his retainer Oboro. Not only the two have fairly fast supports (coming from the Royals having faster support growths with their respective vassals), but she already has a BodyguardCrush on him from before the story takes place, [[spoiler: and if they do get a RelationshipUpgrade, [[TheNotSecret Takumi tells her that he already knew of it]].]]
** A minor example, Dwyer and Velouria from ''Fates'' are hinted to have feelings for each other already in their A-rank support, but they try to avoid any awkwardness between them.

** Played with in ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaBreathOfTheWild Breath of the Wild]]'', where there are [[ChickMagnet at least]] three different girls with feelings for Link: [[spoiler:Zelda, Mipha and Paya. Albeit Paya seems to be more of a crush and the game never goes any deeper than that, both Zelda and Mipha are explicitly and unambiguously confirmed to be in love with him]]. However, Link's own feelings are deliberately left ambiguous, one way or another, and likely intentionally left to the player's interpretation. To the point that, when it comes to [[spoiler:Zelda and Mipha]], the game has dialogue options that may imply he returns the feelings of either of them, neither of them or ''both of them''.
* Liara T'Soni in ''Franchise/MassEffect''. In ''VideoGame/MassEffect1'' she was the only character who could be romanced by both genders, and by later games she gets upgraded to being "Shepard's closest companion" regardless of how you actually treated her in conversations. Most damning enough is that, before the extended cut of ''VideoGame/MassEffect3'', [[spoiler:she was always the player's final thoughts as Shepard dies unless they romanced Ashley or Kaidan]]. Regardless, it's [[BrokenBase a contentious subject amongst the Bioware fanbase]].

*** Before Aigis's introduction, Yukari is given some ship tease with the Protagonist. Although their scenes are comparatively less explicit and more player-driven (the only physical interaction being an optional hug) and end once her Social Link opens, this intensified the debate. Given that early in development, Yukari was planned as the canon LoveInterest, these scenes may be a holdover from the change.
*** The PSP remake Female Protagonist has some ShipTease between FeMC and Shinjiro, particularly in the later stages of his Social Link, whether or not he is romanced.
*** [[LadykillerInLove Ryoji Mochizuki]] is another one for her. He’s the only character in her route whose social link (besides Pharos [[spoiler:who is technically his younger self]]) will advance through storyline progression, and has snippets of voiced dialogue each time they talk with each other. His social link in general contains a lot of romantic imagery (which he even notes sometimes), and if you max out his social link, he will give her a ring to remember him by [[spoiler:before he is assimilated to become Nyx]].

** Much like ''Film/XMenTheLastStand'', it's left rather vague whether or not Bobby and Kitty had anything going on. ''The Rogue Cut'' makes it explicit because they kiss twice. [[spoiler:Come CosmicRetcon, Bobby is back to being in a relationship with Rogue. Kitty and Colossus co-teaching a class may mean something between them as well.]]
** Erik and Raven. When she's holding a spike to his throat, he just quips, "It's been a while since we were this close." There is also a hint when Charles asks Erik for the second time, "How is she [Raven]?", and Charles' facial expression when he hears the answer reads, "Oh, god, he has slept with my sister."
--->'''Erik''': She was… we were… I could see why she meant so much to you.

* Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia in ''Franchise/StarWars: Film/ANewHope''. The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41ALruZJOuE original advertising]] even said that she and Luke were "in love", which, given how [[SeparatedAtBirth that worked out]], is now HilariousInHindsight. Even today, people who haven't seen all the ''Star Wars'' movies tend to assume that she is Luke's girlfriend.
* ''Film/TheForceAwakens'' seems to kind of be heading in the Rey/Finn direction, but there's very little concrete evidence to point to; it could all be read as platonic too. And ''who knows'' what the deal is with Poe!
* ''Film/RogueOne'' depicts a certain chemistry between Jyn and Cassian, which culminates in an intense HeldGaze during an elevator ride that leaves a lot of things left unspoken. All things considered, it's a case of "what might have been" [[spoiler:had they only had more time to share together before their deaths]].

Considering how much of an [[{{Jerkass}} asshole]] he is to virtually everyone else, the fact that Jin treats Tsubaki with genuine kindness only reinforces this.

* ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'' sets up a lot of romantic tropes around Steven and Connie, including Steven working up the courage to talk to her followed by a CrashIntoHello, but it isn't clear whether or not their relationship itself is actually a romantic one or "merely" friendly. Of course, the fact that they're children (and therefore probably do not understand things like romantic love) might have something to do with it. Later in the series, their relationship becomes more clearly romantic in nature. However, even later episodes change things again, with the reveal that Steven doesn't age normally, and may stay young forever; Connie is okay with this, as long as they remain friends.
