* When Chris gets possessed by Orochi in ''VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters '97'', his eyes become slitted and yellow; however, this only part of the transformation.
** This editor saw him with {{red eyes|TakeWarning}} in that form...maybe it was changed to that in '98 and/or '02.
** Goenitz also gets slitted pupils before fighting in ''The King of Fighters '96''; and in the Neo-Geo pocket games, the Heavenly King version of Yashiro and Chris also have these kind of eyes. Shermie? [[HiddenEyes Who knows]].

* Used by Evangeline A.K. [=McDowell=] of ''Manga/MahouSenseiNegima'' whenever she taps into her vampiric powers: the pupils slit, the sclera turns black and the iris starts to glow yellow. Interestingly enough she only does this AFTER she relinquishes her antagonistic role, for such purposes as [[RightBehindMe scaring the shit out of Anya]] for the lulz.

* Rokudou Mukuro of ''Manga/KatekyoHitmanReborn'' has a [[RedEyesTakeWarning red eye]] whose pupil is actually kanji that cycle from one to six, from the six realms concept in Buddhism. Each kanji represents a power derived from one of the realms...yes, including Hell. However, the one Mukuro believes to be the worst is the fifth realm, [[NietzscheWannabe the one of humans.]]

* In Sugar Dark, the main character/prisoner/forced grave digger/former private Reed meets Raven, a young mischievous boy who was among the mysterious masked people who ordered him to bury one of the {{Eldritch Abomination}}s and humanity's ancient enemy called the "Dark". He doesn't appear to notice (or perhaps not to further question - what with shit happening to him in such short intervals) that he has goat's eyes.

* Nyx in ''FanFic/PastSins'', inherited from [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Nightmare Moon]], [[spoiler: because she is Nightmare Moon reincarnated.]]
* ''FanFic/TheRiseOfDarthVulcan'': As part of the [[TookALevelInBadass badass upgrade package]] he receives from Vulcan and [[spoiler: Chrysalis]], [[MookLieutenant Artful Dodger]]'s eyes are magically enchanted to increase his natural vision and grant him night vision, with a side effect being that they become cat-like, with slitted pupils and a slight glow.

* ''[[VideoGame/{{Touhou}} Touhou Project]]'' offer Nue, who's missing her pupils almost entirely (they're just darker red spots). Despite ZUN being famously bad at character art, he does normally color eyes correctly, so much of the fandom accepts this as intentional. The Scarlet Sisters Remilia and Flandre also sport slit pupils.

* Ren Suzugamori in ''Anime/CardfightVanguard'' has slits for pupils.

* In ''Manga/KurokoNoBasuke'', the former captain of the Generation of Miracles, Akashi, has these.

* Subverted/played as a variant of MysticEyes in the manga adaptation of ''VideoGame/BreathOfFireIV''. In this 'verse, HellishPupils are seen as Dragon Eyes, signs that the bearer is of great destiny and possessed with PsychicPowers of {{Precognition}} and {{Clairvoyance}} [[spoiler: not to mention being a PhysicalGod]]. (This even extends to a summoner-character developing HellishPupils when voluntarily possessed by CoolBigSis Deis.)

* In ''Literature/MaledictionTrilogy'' [[OurElvesAreDifferent Winter Queen]] appears to human girl [[TheProtagonist Cecile]] as a perfectly beautiful woman, with glossy black hair, silver eyes, pearly teeth and perfectly manicured rosy nails. However, from time to time, especially when she loses control of her temper, her real nature pushes through her glamour, showing things like claws, pointed teeth and eyes with slit pupils. And she is highly dangerous, planning [[spoiler: total destruction of all trolls]].

* Nearly all of the hommunculi of ''Manga/BusoRenkin'' display these, as do their human followers. When she's angry, the heroine, Tokiko also displays them.

* Urek Mazino from ''Webcomic/TowerOfGod''.

* Subverted with Hyakkimaru from {{Manga/Dororo}}, who has demonic dark red eyes with slit pupils, but is an antihero at worst. They hint at his supernatural background and the possibility of becoming just as bad as the monsters he fights.

A character's pupils are [[AnimalEyes slitted like a cat's or snake's]], or rectangular like a sheep's or goat's, to indicate that they're channeling something nasty (or that they ''are'' nasty, period). Often with a [[RedEyesTakeWarning red]] or [[SupernaturalGoldEyes yellow]] eye color to accentuate the wrongness. Also eyes have such unusual designs that they seem wrong in the worst way.

* Mr. Teatime, the psychopathic assassin from Creator/TerryPratchett's ''Literature/{{Discworld}}'' novel ''Discworld/{{Hogfather}}'' has jaundiced eyes with creepy pinpoint pupils. The fact that he only has one eye doesn't detract from this - indeed, his glass eye is described as being the ''less creepy'' one.

* Nearly all of the hommunculi of ''Manga/BusouRenkin'' display these, as do their human followers. When she's angry, the heroine, Tokiko also displays them.

* [[Literature/TheChroniclesOfThomasCovenant Lord Foul]] has eyes like decaying fangs. It's not entirely clear what is meant by this simile, but it's probably not anything good.

* An eye with HellishPupils appears in the trailer for ''Film/{{Battleship}}''.

* ''ComicBook/TheLegendOfWonderWoman2016'':
** In an example with AnimalEyes overlap [[ComicBook/{{Cheetah}} Priscilla Rich]]'s eyes gain slit cat-like pupils after she touches and is disintegrated and reformed by the [[ArtifactOfDoom Heart of Baetylus]].
** The Manticore that attacked Diana as a child had a swarm of pupils in each of it's eyes rather than just one, making it's otherwise human head very unsettling.

** From ''ComicBook/ArchieComicsSonicTheHedgehog'' we have [[MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate Dr.]] [[OmnicidalManiac Finitevus]], [[WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity pretty]] [[MadScientist nice guy]]...

* Mephiles' eyes after taking on the shape of Shadow the Hedgehog in ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog2006''. Despite this combined with [[NoMouth him not having a mouth]] and his evil-sounding voice, Silver doesn't seem suspicious in the slightest during their first meeting. The trope becomes even more apparent in Mephiles' crystalline form.

* [[SuperpoweredEvilSide Super Sonic]], the resident OmnicidalManiac in ''ComicBook/SonicTheComic'' had red spirals instead of pupils. In some stories they seemed to reflect his demeanour; when he was at the peak of his evil powers the spirals were large enough to fill his eyes, but when he was good they shrank noticably.
* From ''ComicBook/ArchieComicsSonicTheHedgehog'' we have [[MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate Dr.]] [[OmnicidalManiac Finitevus]], [[WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity pretty]] [[MadScientist nice guy]]...

* VideoGame/{{Klonoa}} from his eponymous video game series, is a heroic example, with catlike slit pupils surrounded by equally catlike golden irises. The pupils have widened somewhat over the course of several installments and spinoffs and currently resemble SonicTheHedgehog's eyes more than the full-on cat eyes he had in his first game. Then again, Klonoa IS a Cat.

* ''ComicBook/TheLegendOfWonderWoman2016'': In an example with AnimalEyes overlap [[ComicBook/{{Cheetah}} Priscilla Rich]]'s eyes gain slit cat-like pupils after she touches and is disintegrated and reformed by the [[ArtifactOfDoom Heart of Baetylus]].

* ''Literature/HarryPotter:'' Voldemort has slit-pupiled, red eyes.
