She gets mocked for being related to Michael, becomes mute due to a powerful connection with Michael, has all her friends, her sister, and her dogs killed, gets kidnapped by a cult and is forced to have sex with Michael, and she's finally impaled by farm equipment. Jamie has to be the most depressing character in all of horror.

* ShoutOut - A large number of them in the first film. To give but one example, Sam Loomis was the name of a character in ''{{Psycho}}''.

** Doctor Challis essentially whacking the robotic Ellie's head off in ''Season of the Witch'' with a tire iron.

** In the Zombie remake, we have Micheal bursting through a car windshield followed by Dr. Loomis shouting "MICHEAL! JESUS CHRIST!" as if he were reacting to someone spilling coffee on the floor. The line even became a meme in the Dread Central podcast and forums, usually used whenever Malcom [=McDowell=] is mentioned.

It goes so far that he used Jamie as a bait to lure Michael in to a trap, and then beat him savagely with a plank so that Michael got unconscious yet he continued to beat him, all while screaming "DIE! DIE!" for each hit.

** A totally awesome one was in ''H20'', when Laurie finally grow a pair and decided to take on Michael head on. It doesn't sound impressing to you? well, almost the whole fight was one-sided...with Michael ended up on the defensive; He gets an axe and a spear stucked into his chest, beaten up by a stick, stabbed several times, thrown out of one storey and hitting a table ''and'' gets [[GroinAttack kicked in the groin]]. You could clearly see that he was both surprised and shocked by Laurie's ferocity, since he ain't used to be beaten up that hard.
