* ''Fanfic/NobodyDies'': For the first fifteen chapters, Asuka's hair is down completely, due to her mother pulling her from the Evangelion Project, and thus never becoming the Main/Tsundere we all know and love (to hate). Instead, her older brother Uriel wears the hair clips, like Canon!Asuka. During a spa day with Mari in chapter 16, she gains a pair of non-functional hair clips as a finishing touch, mainly a gambit by Mari to get Shinji's attention. It worked. She kept these non-functional clips for off-duty times, even after becoming Unit-02's pilot.
