* In Series/Supernatural, because seeing an angel's true form will burn your eyes out of their sockets, Castiel does the next best thing and shows off some seriously BadAss shadow wings.
** Angel wings in general seem to be attached to the background. Dead angels may have their wings show up as scorch marks on the ground around them, and . Each angel may show their wings differently, but they are all BadAss.

* CapeWings tend to belong to Badass Anti-Heroes or villains.
* Metallic Wings are generally unseen outside of HeavyMetal album covers, but are quite popular there. Usually denotes the character as a Badass with ThePowerOfRock, in addition to other implications based on type.

** Towards the end of StrikerS, Signum gets a pair of flaming wings when , going nicely with her FlamingSword. Again, both good and extremely Badass.

* Flaming wings are usually demon wings (think Balrog) but are not evil that often (think phoenix or Gabriel). Probably 'cause they look so damn cool. And this hue hangs together with FlamingSword just nice, isn't it, dear?

* In Webcomic/Homestuck, . He is not a good guy. At all. On the other hand, post Act 5, and is one of the good guys.

When he gets a NextTierPowerUp that makes him exponentially more dangerous, his wings change: they remain black and feathery but take a shape that is more angelic than avian. This dark angel appearance is a reference to the author's previous comic (he dubs "the Anti-Sepulchritude")

* Series/XenaWarriorPrincess: I believe there was an episode of Xena playing in heaven/hell. Xena and Gabrielle went to heaven, while Callypso went to hell. During the episode Xena voluntarily goes to hell to save Callypso. In Heaven, all angels have feather wings, though if I remember correctly there are also good angels with a black set of wings. In Hell they all have bat wings.
