She leads the Sun Faction, which wants the Far East to open its borders, support the weak, and spread happiness throughout the world. She's also doting and friendly toward Haruhime, insisting that she be liberated from her noble duties and be allowed to have fun as a child for once.

** Subverted with Terra in the show, whose Fun Personified demeanor is to hide that she has [[WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds BIG ISSUES.]]
* Michelangelo from ''Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles'' is this in every animated incarnation[[labelnote:list]]''WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles1987'', ''WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2003'' and ''WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2012''[[/labelnote]]. He is a party dude! ...Not so much in [[Comicbook/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesMirage the original '84 comic book series]], though, where he's nearly as violent as ''Raph''.

* Stephanie Brown aka Spoiler / Robin / [[Batgirl2009 Batgirl]] is generally regarded as this amongst the Batfamily, beating out Dick Grayson as the most optimistic, least angst-ridden member.

* In ''[[VideoGame/PuyoPuyo Puyo Puyo Tetris 2]]'', Marle is a dark take on this trope. She constantly wants to have fun and forces the other characters to fight her and each other to this end. [[spoiler:Her actions are actually from being mind controlled by Squares; once she's brought back to normal, it's revealed that, as a personification of the Will of the Worlds, she governs fun.]]

* Marvel's SelfDemonstrating/{{Deadpool}} started out as Rob Liefeld's [[CaptainErsatz stand-in]] for DC's Deathstroke the Terminator. Nearly every other writer since has used him as a comedy character, particularly in the areas of MediumAwareness and various [[NoFourthWall attacks on the fourth wall]]. His Ultimate Marvel counterpart is (almost) entirely serious, but there are hints that might not have actually been him.

** Jade played this role, being fun and bouncy, having game-based fetch modi, and being designed as a parody of the MarySue concept. Would engage in wacky antics like fake-fighting her grandfather and dog respectively, mess around with time and space like it was nothing special, and be generally {{Adorkable}}. Then she accidentally brought back her dead and severely traumatised dreamself, started talking to Karkat, and got stalked by Jack Noir. The fun, shall we say, toned down quite a bit.

* Chuckles the Happy Clown, who not only lives up to his name, but was one of the most effective crimefighters in the history of the ''Roleplay/GlobalGuardiansPBEMUniverse''. Donato Spinelli, the player of the character, was generally thought as being the '''''greatest''''' roleplayer anyone had ever met, or had the pleasure of interacting with. He was able to make a truly funny joke while in the middle of the dourest of situations without once ever becoming a SnarkKnight.

* Ray Palmer from ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow'' ([[EarlyInstallmentWeirdness post-Season 1, anyway). Almost everyone takes note of his relentlessly positive attitude, his friendliness, his wholesomeness, and the joy he takes in all the Legends' adventures. Even when he's sent to Hell to be tortured by his ArchEnemy, his sunny disposition ends up winning his torturer over, and they spend their time [[GoKartingWithBowser playing Jenga together]] instead.

They do have a similar role though, acting as a mood-maker who shields others from feelings of despair or doom and generally preventing the plot from getting overly grim. Of course, if the story does start progressing towards an inevitable darker tone, then it might be necessary for them to [[ShooOutTheClowns take the backseat]], [[PutOnABus leave]] or even die altogether.

If they do get sad or angry, it definitely won't last long, although powerful enough moments of BreakTheCutie may lead them to become a SadClown or ThePollyanna instead, which might take some more time to heal (or possibly never).
