* Creator/StudioGhibli fans tend to be "Studio Ghibli fans" rather than fans of individual movies. Fanartists and cosplayers enjoy crossing over as many Ghibli characters as possible.
** Also hardcore Disney fans who tends to balk at the "[[WidgetSeries weirdess]]" of anime in general tend to make an exception to Studio Ghibli due to their beautiful animation and general G-rating (don't tell them about Anime/GraveOfTheFireflies)

** Going back a little further, fans of ''WesternAnimation/{{Doug}}'' and ''WesternAnimation/HeyArnold'' are very friendly with fans of ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'', due to the similar SliceOfLife nature between the shows. This also [[FridgeBrilliance makes sense]], considering those who [[TheNineties grew up watching the two Nickelodeon shows]] (with a ChannelHop for the former) are in the PeripheryDemographic for ''[=FiM=]''.

* A rather odd example: the fandoms of ''WesternAnimation/HeyArnold'' would often get along with fans of ''WesternAnimation/{{Recess}}'' and have grown to have a mutual respect for each other, probably due to the similarities both shows have. This used to be the reason they originally [[FandomRivalry have hated each other due to said similarities]] , but now that there is no threat of competition, fans of either are now often fans of both. [[note]]However, see [[WesternAnimation/DuelingShows dueling shows]], as ''Recess'' is the winner against ''Hey Arnold'', even though the latter came out first[[/note]].
* Many of the prominent {{Fanfic}} writers for ''WesternAnimation/AdventuresOfTheGalaxyRangers'' also wrote fanfic for ''WesternAnimation/JonnyQuestTheRealAdventures'' back in the 1990's. These days, newcomers to the fandom tend to be fans of ''WesternAnimation/XMenEvolution'' who discovered it via Red Witch and other fanfic writers. Later on, the GalaxyRangers fan writers ended up writing ''{{Series/Leverage}}'' fanfic, partly because of the similarities in the character types (Doc and Hardison, Nathan and Zach, Shane and Spencer).

* ''Franchise/StreetFighter'' and ''Franchise/MortalKombat'' fans have a lot of overlap, as both series were responsible for the FightingGame boom of [[TheNineties the mid-late 90's]]. Where there was something of a rivalry in their classic heyday, most fans generally played both in either series' classic heyday. Moreover, with the 2D Fighting Game revival in the [[UsefulNotes/TheSeventhGenerationOfConsoleVideoGames Seventh Generation]], both series saw an influx of newer fighting game fans who grew to appreciate both for their excellent new installments and their respective influence on the genre as a whole. Fans of both series are ''very'' eager to see the two crossover thanks to [[VideoGame/CapcomVsWhatever Capcom's history of crossover fighting games]], despite the figurehead developers of either series insisting that it probably wouldn't work.

* There is overlap between the ''VideoGame/WarioWare'' and 'VideoGame/RhythmHeaven'' fandoms. Probably because they're both microgame collection titles created by Nintendo and Intelligent Systems which (as of the last few games) share an art style due to a shared art director.

* In spite of the oft-hyped [[FandomRivalry tensions]] between fans of ''Franchise/StarWars'' and those of ''Franchise/StarTrek'', truth is, outside of exceptions, the two sagas are so different, they don't really step on each other's toes. And in the modern times, true pop-culture geeks understand the economics of how TV and film projects get the go-ahead or not, therefore, fans of both works tend to look at the others' success as being a boost to their own favorite.

* ''LyricalNanoha'' and ''SenkiZesshouSymphogear'', since both shows feature {{Magical Girl}}s with insane amounts of badassery and firepower... which begs the question: Which fandom [[DefeatMeansFriendship beat the other up for them to become friends]]?

* ''ComicBook/{{Supergirl}}'' fans and ''ComicBook/{{Batgirl}}'' fans tend to get along marvelously, perhaps because of the similarities between both heroines (both are distaff counterparts of famous male heroes, both have been looked down on by comic fans because of it, both were fridged for decades, replaced and eventually brought back). Or perhaps because they are always friends in every comicverse and even other media as ''Franchise/TheDCAU'', ''WesternAnimation/SuperBestFriendsForever'' or ''WebAnimation/DCSuperHeroGirls''. Regardless of the reason, Kara Zor-El fans use to be Barbara Gordon (or Stephanie Brown) fans too, and vice versa; and both fandoms respect each other.
