A full time American [[TwentyFourHourNewsNetworks 24-hour cable news network]], launched on October 7th, 1996. Fox News offers programs such as ''America's Newsroom'', ''The Fox Report'', ''Series/TheOReillyFactor'', and ''Hannity'', among others.

Along with broader categories of news, the channel also concerns itself heavily with politics.

----
!!This network contains examples of:

* BlondeRepublicanSexKitten / MsFanservice: It's a bit telling that a Google image search for "Fox News" will try to auto-complete it with the following: "anchors", "hotties", "logo", "women", "women legs", "girls", "anchorwoman". The perky blonde anchorwomen on Fox are legendary.
* BlatantLies: They have been known to label prominent Republicans who have upset the public as Democrats.
* CowboyBeBopAtHisComputer: Before the first ''Franchise/MassEffect'' game was released, Fox reported that it would feature full frontal nudity and graphic sex, and would be marketed at children and teens. Obviously [[ElectronicArts EA]] was [[http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2008/01/ea-asks-fox-to/ a bit offended]] at such blatant slander.
* FoxNewsLiberal: The TropeNamer, of course.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: Gretchen Carlson was a high school valedictorian, graduated from Stanford with honors, studied abroad at Oxford, and can play Zigeunerweisen on the violin. Yet on ''Fox And Friends'' she has been shown Googling terms like "ignoramus" and "czar", and even then getting the wrong definition for the context in which the word was being used.[[note]]She thought that "ignoramus" was defined as "ignorant lawyer" and that [[BarackObama Obama]]'s appointment of a "czar" (in this context the common job title of department or taskforce chief) violated Section 9 of the United States Constitution.[[/note]] Either she is a DitzyGenius who has a poor grasp of vocabulary despite her intelligence, or she is deliberately reining it in so as to seem less intimidating and more identifiable to her viewership.
* OddCouple: Fox News Channel's political leanings are often at a complete disjoint to its sister entertainment network. For example, an episode of ''Series/{{House}}'' in 2010 [[{{Anvilicious}} heavily criticizes the health insurance industry]] that Fox News is advocating to leave alone. Said fact was a [[BitingTheHandHumor point of cynical observation]] in ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'', which suggests that [[MoodWhiplash the disjoint is deliberate]].
** The ''Simpsons'' example was so acrimonious that Fox nearly ''[[LogicBomb sued itself]]'' over it.
** ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy'' had an entire episode mocking Fox News.
* PatrioticFervor: Have shows with names like "America's Newsroom", and for a long time, a "LIVE" bug featuring a furled American flag in the background. Bill O'Reilly was originally the poster child, and now that he is moderate in comparison, hosts Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity are known for this.
* TheRival: Creator/{{CNN}}, {{MSNBC}}, and to a lesser extent ''Series/TheDailyShow''.

* YouAreWhatYouHate:
** As CharlieBrooker [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_depaSOa4I noticed on]] ''{{Newswipe}}'', Fox often makes jabs at what it deems the "mainstream media" and its liberal bias, but also doesn't shy away from saying it's the #1 news network.
** And as [[TheDailyShow Jon Stewart]] pointed out - [[http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-august-19-2009/fox-news--the-new-liberals Fox News is actually liberal]] now.

* YouFailStatisticsForever: The Fox News Channel's fondness for flashy graphics to engage the viewer's attention occasionally lends itself to a few mistakes. Such as a pie chart where the total breakdowns add up to 193%, or [[http://www.mathfail.com/scientists-poll.jpg this poll with a breakdown that adds up to 120%]]. Along with some famous lapses where politicans have been assigned the wrong party, there are two competing explanations: either with the pressure of the rush to get on-screen information ready by showtime, those responsible have little time to double-check their work; or, they care more about making a quick impression on the viewer than ensuring accurate information.
