*** In "Wasted," models are wearing *literally* painted-on swimwear. One dies on the runway because the heat from the lights activates drugs that were mixed into the paint, which was used by accident, and another is bludgeoned to death backstage when she catches the drug dealer trying to steal back the cans of the paint that were mistakenly delivered there.
*** In "Like Water for Chocolate," a fashion designer uses expensive chocolate and damiana flowers in his designs, which are presented by models on a runway. Det. Flack comments to Stella how cold it is in the venue. She tells him it's necessary because chocolate melts at body temperature.

Or if not, fashion shows are often a chance for the film's costume designer to let rip and try something high-fashion-y and avant-garde. Often the clothes will be {{Impractically Fancy Outfit}}s, more meant to show off the designer's abilities and tastes than to actually be worn (doesn't stop some eccentric people from that anyway). Some fictional fashion shows will use the haute couture fashion wear as an opportunity for SupermodelStrut, LegFocus and {{fanservice}}.

* In ''Fanfic/FashionUpgrade'', The project for Marinette's new class was to have one. This was set up by Lila taking advantage of her old class's desire to give Marinette a project that would appeal to her passion. They (except Lila and Adrien) are ignorant of how much work it takes for one while also oblivious to how this stresses Marinette out due her belief that she will do all the work like her old class. Fortunately for her, this is not the case as they all contribute in their own way. The theme of the the fashion is based on Paris Heroes and while also up-cycling old clothes. It was very successful despite Lila's efforts.
