* The exceptionally rare Jinrou of ''Literature/{{Shiki}}'' are able to move around during the day without problems.

* Played with in Creator/AnneRice's ''Literature/TheVampireChronicles'' books. Vampires who are powerful or old enough (though the only one named is Khayman, the third vampire ever created) aren't burned by the sun anymore, but they do fall unconscious once the sun comes up, with Khayman noting that "his eyes began to close" as soon as light began to break over the horizon.

* ''Franchise/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'': Solitaire (who is part of the BigBadDuumvirate in ''Ghoul Trouble'') is infamous for being the only vampire who can walk around in sunlight, and no one knows how he does it, with many people dismissing his existence as a myth. The secret is that [[spoiler:Solitaire is really a shape-shifting demon who only pretends to be a vampire to mislead his enemies]].

* ''Film/{{Martin}}'' is about a [[OurVampiresAreDifferent vampire]] ([[MaybeMagicMaybeMundane maybe]]) who doesn't seem at all concerned about daylight, and in fact defies most vampire tropes.

* In ''Literature/TheSanguineChronicles'' sunlight just reduces a vampire's powers. The "burning" thing stems from illusions they use to cover their escape when exposed to the sun in a fight.

* In ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooAndTheReluctantWerewolf'', Dracula is able go out in the sun by putting on sunscreen. Sibella from ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooAndTheGhoulSchool'' similarly had little trouble going out in daylight, though most days there were heavily overcast.

* ''VideoGame/MightAndMagicVIIIDayOfTheDestroyer'' mentions that the Necromancer's Guild of Shadowspire has been able to create a special kind of amulet that allows vampires wearing it to freely walk about in daylight (and that allows ''other'' magical amulets to be worn at the same type). This is mostly to justify why vampires in the player party aren't affected by the sun -- the same dialogue that mentions the amulet also confirms creating it is too costly and and time-consuming to do in significant quantities, which is why part of the plot is the Guild looking to regain their [[TheNightThatNeverEnds other creation]] meant to allow vampires to operate at any time of the day.

** ''VideoGame/TheElderScrollsOnline'' has vampires who are said to be much stronger at night, instead of being weakened during the day.

* The vampires in ''WebOriginal/{{Brat}}'''s ''Red Ruby'' walk around in daylight with seemingly no problem.

* In ''Series/FirstKill'', Legacy Vampires are the BlueBloods of the vampire world who are directly descended from Myth/{{Lilith}}. They are immune to sunlight and other vampire weaknesses, including staking, but can be harmed by [[SilverHasMysticPowers silver]].

* Direct sunlight would reduce ''Franchise/TouhouProject'''s Remilia Scarlet to dust, but she's fine if she carries a parasol to block it. This is reflected in the fighting games-- if she has a parasol, she can participate in the daytime stages.

* In ''VideoGame/TouhouLostWord'', vampire sisters Remilia and Flandre utilize sunscreen when they leave their mansion during the daytime. This occasionally gets lampshaded by the rest of the ''Franchise/TouhouProject'' cast.

Vampires with the Immortal trait, in addition to not aging, also lose even this (relatively mild) weakness to sunlight in favor of [[Literature/{{Twilight}} sparkling in sunlight]].

* ''WesternAnimation/JohnnyTest'': PlayedForLaughs in "Fangs A Lot, Johnny". Johnny and Dukey convince Susan and Mary to turn into vampires in order to get Gil's attention, who at the time is fixated on a movie star of ''Literature/{{Twilight}}''-esque series, through a DNA fusion with vampire bats. This backfires since the girls turn out to be dangerous after the change. The boys run and make it outside, believing the girls wouldn't be able to follow but are quickly proven wrong when they catch up. When Johnny asks how, they state all the trendy vampires nowadays just sparkle in the sun.

** Red Court vampires suffer the usual "burnt by sunlight" type, but can wear fleshmask to protect themselves against it. The most powerful and oldest among them can actually stand in sunlight.

** The Black Court, being based on the original Dracula novel, follow the same principle; they tend to become weakened and lethargic during daytime, but sunlight won't kill them, and the strongest among them treat it as a mere inconvenience at best.
