* BreatherLevel: Chiyo's chapter is brightly lit and almost serene in a way. Notably she almost never gets attacked by spirits, and the one that does attack only appears if Chiyo does not follow the cat around.

* CowardlyLion: Shin. It eventually gets him killed.

* GirlyRun: Subverted. Unlike most survival horror games of its type, the female protagonists either haul ass, or can't run to begin with.
* GuideDangIt: There's a glitch where if you don't do everything during The Lamentation just right, you won't be able to progress further. Most people wouldn't know about this unless someone told them beforehand.

** Averted. If Chiyo decides to ignore a certain cat, it is possible for her to be attacked by a nurse in The Connection.
