Cactus people are typically found in deserts. Unlike other Plant People, they're thus rarely associated with verdant wildernesses or GreenThumb powers. Instead, they're a stock inhabitant of fantasy desert lands and are also associated with Wild West- or Mexico-inspired settings, due to the ubiquity of cacti in American deserts. Their harsh environment may also lead to them being depicted as self-reliant, hardened survivors.

Subtrope of PlantPerson. In videogames, this may overlap with TheSpiny.

* ''TabletopGame/FabulaUltima'': Cactrolls are large, ambulatory cactus creatures. They are stated to be nocturnal and territorial, and they can fend off intruders by pulling them into a spiny hug, spraying needs at them from afar, and even sucking the moisture out of their bodies with magic.
