* In ''ComicBook/AngelAndFaith'', a flashback shows Angelus killing Drusilla's father by tearing out his heart with his bare hands.

** Thanos gets it again in ''Secret Wars (2015)'', with a powered-up Doom ripping out his spine.
* A ''Franchise/{{Batman}}'' villain named Midnight had this as his (actually a her) gimmick. Everyone in Gotham seemed to be MadeOfPlasticine in that issue because he could remove people's hearts just by poking them with his pointed cane. The sheer impossibility of this, coupled with Midnight's LargeHam nature, made him far too Narmy to take seriously.
* In a particularly convoluted example, the ''Franchise/{{Batman}}'' villain Hush kidnapped Catwoman, used his surgical skills to remove Catwoman's heart, leaving her on life support, and showed it to Batman. Luckily, he was able to get it back.

* Late in the run of ''ComicBook/TheBoys'', Butcher confronts a mortally wounded Black Noir, the man who raped his wife. He reaches into the man's head, and pulls out a chunk of his brain, noting that it probably contains Black Noir's memory of doing the deed, before crushing it in his fist. It seems Black Noir was, somehow, at least cognizant enough to recognize what Butcher was doing before he finally died (then again, he is superhuman).
* In ''ComicBook/{{Crossed}}'', a man trying to protect his family from the HatePlague infected with a SaltSolution ends up getting raped to death ''and'' disemboweled with [[CruelAndUnusualDeath his rapist holding his intestines in front of his face as he's bleeding out next to his also-being-raped wife angrily calling him an idiot]].
* In ''ComicBook/TheDarkness'', Jackie took out some dude's skeleton and showed it to him. "Pop."
* Near the end of ''ComicBook/EmperorJoker'', ComicBook/TheJoker, as a RealityWarper, rips out Franchise/{{Superman}}'s heart. Superman survives for minutes, apparently either because of his super-durability or thanks to Joker using his omnipotence for keeping him alive. Supes actually hugged the sun to his chest (he and the Joker were enlarged at the time) to counteract this.
* ''ComicBook/ThePunisher'': Among Barracuda's many, many horrible deeds, there was the time Ebbing paid him to ensure his peace and quiet. Two convicts who'd been bothering Ebbing were later found with their eyes plucked out, their testicles in each other's eye sockets, and their eyelids sewn up. Their eyeballs were never found, and they were still alive after that.
* Franchise/SpiderMan, like many other heroes in Marvel's ''Mys-Tech Wars'' miniseries, is killed when he is overpowered by invading demons and his heart is ripped out.

* ''LightNovel/{{Overlord}}'' has the titular VillainProtagonist's favorite Death spell "Grasp Heart", which causes the target's heart (or a projection thereof) to appear within the [[OurLichesAreDifferent lich]]'s bony hand, whereupon it attempts to crush it, killing the target instantly upon success or stunning it briefly otherwise.

* Perhaps a combination with HoistByHisOwnPetard, in ''WesternAnimation/TheIncredibles'', Mr. Incredible tricks the Omnidroid prototype into ripping ''its own heart'' out. (Or at least a particular component that stayed lit up red for several seconds after being ripped out).

* Beating people to death with their own severed limbs is extremely common and satisfying in ''VideoGame/DwarfFortress'' adventure mode. Even better is to [[CrossesTheLineTwice beat a mother to death with the body of her child you just killed in front of her]].

* In ''VideoGame/ShadowWarrior'' Rippers, gorilla-like monsters who love to rip you to shreds with their claws, rip out your heart while killing you. You still see it beating in their hands as you lie dead.
