Not only does the books take place mostly in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, the Byzantine Empire and other places were the Vikings were frequent visitors but still never get the same recognition as the Anglo Saxon invasions, they also portray many very obscure tribes and people who really exsisted under the Dark Ages.
