Harry meets a wide variety of characters in the series, including Karrin Murphy, the ActionGirl cop who's [[BrokenMasquerade aware of the city's supernatural underworld]]; Bob, [[SealedBadassInACan a spirit of intellect who lives in a skull]]--human-shaped ghost in the television series--is Harry's literal MagicalComputer; Michael Carpenter, a modern-day [[ThePaladin paladin]] wielding a [[CoolSword holy sword]]; Billy the [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent Werewolf]] and his pack of Alphas (a group of young [[HeroicWannabe heroic wannabes]]); Thomas Raith, the LoveableRogue [[strike:incubus]] [[HornyDevils White]] [[DeadlyDecadentCourt Court]] [[OurVampiresAreDifferent vampire]]; Harry's on-and-off love interest reporter Susan Rodriguez; and Molly Carpenter, Michael's oldest daughter and Harry's [[TheApprentice apprentice]]. Like many detective stories, Harry meets a ridiculous number of [[FemmeFatale femmes fatales]], [[TheDon crime bosses]], and [[{{Mooks}} hired goons]], which is frequently [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] in the series.
