* DramaticIrony: Assassin's Guild got a request to hunt Jarret for allegedly being a bad guy, and coincidentally Sylpha had defend him by being in his party. Jade then cancels the request as invalid after seeing Jarret in person. It turns out [[spoiler:Sypha's dad was the one who put the request in the first place due to mistaking him for [[BoyfriendBlockingDad hitting on his daughter]]]], but nobody gets to know about it.

* NighInvulnerability: Majin are known to be functionally immortal because of their HealingFactor and them being ResistantToMagic. Lloyd figures they just have a very large lifeforce, and tortures Pazuzu for several minutes straight until he [[KilledOffForReal finally breaks apart]]. Stronger Majins take even someone like Lloyd some significant effort to be defeated.

* PowerLevels: Established specifically with Majin, who rank from 1 (highest) to 10 (lowest). Pazuru is rank 8, and Grim is rank 3. There is, however, a rank higher than Rank 1. * RitualMagic: Contrasting MagicalIncantation, there's a form of invokation called Ceremony that actives Holy Magic with a musical performance. [[spoiler:A contract with Julliel]] lets Lloyd cast Holy spells without a ritual. Those who are blessed can in turn share it with others.

* SneezeCut: When discussing if Lloyd has been kidnapped, he, who wasn't kidnapped, suddenly sneezes.

* SufficientlyAnalyzedMagic: Magic is commonplace and physical applications of different forms (Spellcasting, Ki, Enchantment, Taming, etc) are fairly well understood. Lloyd, however, gives each of them a strictly analytical approach, and realizing there's no theoretical limit how dense each of them can get, exponentially increases the amount and types of spells he can cast per minute.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: Some adventurers seeing Sylpha and Lloyd registering at the AdventureGuild, rudely suggest hiring themselves as bodyguards, soon learning that they are way stronger than anyone present.

* BodyCountCompetition: In Chapter 52, Tao and Sylpha starts a competition, with whoever kills the most ghouls get a date with Lloyd, and Ren also joins in. This is forgotten when Civil War proves to be too much of a challenge.

* BaitAndSwitch: Lloyd is concerned if Sylpha can be fooled by the BodyDouble, considering she scarily knows a lot about him. Sylpha gets so bothered by "Lloyd" suddenly becoming weak, she spends the entire day giving the imposter combat lessons. Chapter 99 shows she did eventually figure it out, and even found the doll and Grimoire in his room, but let it slide.

** The Mysterious Priest is a shapeshifter hiding amongst the Pope's 11 High Priests, plus him included. Right when the investigation begins, [[spoiler:Anastasia whispers that heroes wouldn't expect "the worst" and Pope Gitane reveals his true identity right away]].

** Majin are capable of taking over when they are in proximity to another human. Grim attempts it on Lloyd, but Lloyd's absurdly dense magical power makes it impossible.
** [[spoiler: Guisarme steals Jade's body and Guisarme's allies take over the entire kingdom of Lodost, which is how they learn rare techniques instead of practicing them. They later attempt it on the Asssassin's Guild, but are thwarted.]]

** Despite Lloyd leaving a notice where he went, Sylpha and Albert assume the Assassin's Guild has kidnapped him and has done unimaginable things to him, quickly building a small army to rescue him. [[spoiler:Which is convenient because Lodost is infested with minor Majin and Lloyd can't get distracted by small fry]].

* {{Foreshadowing}}: Lloyd notices a bountry poster for the Asssassin's Guild, who appear soon later.

* GoodCostumeSwitch: The appearance of bearwolves directly ties to who's controlling them. When Lloyd breaks Pazuzu's miasma, they all turn from monstrous wolves into fluffy dogs, which is their true state.
* TheGuardsMustBeCrazy: The doorless hall to where Grimoire is sealed is guarded by just two patrol men who are very confident nobody can pass them, while Lloyd does just that with {{Invisibility}}. Though they are confident the seal is more than sufficient, which Lloyd breaks without it even being shown.
* HolyBurnsEvil: It isn't brought up until Chapter 43, but Holy Magic works well on demons, undead, etc.
* HotSpringsEpisode: In Chapter 41 the aftermath of Lloyd's battle mixes up a river with magma, which the girls take as an opportunity to take into a hot spring attraction.
* HumanoidAbomination: PlayedForLaughs as much as it is PlayedStraight, but the absurd size and density of Lloyd's magical power, which takes shame of a colossal fractal skull, makes Grimoire view him as some sort of monster. [[spoiler: Guisarme later see him the same way, realizing how outclassed he is.]]

* NewLifeInAnotherWorldBonus: Lloyd in his past life had a pathetic magic performance, but wanting nothing but to learn more magic. Being reborn, his capabilities of magic even as a child exceed country's best mages. Subverted in that Lloyd is reborn in the same country he has died in.

* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: Once Lloyd reverse-engineers Guisarme attacks, figuring he has no other interesting skills to show under his arsenal, grinds him into a pulp with his fists.
