''Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?'' (''Tsūjō Kōgeki ga Zentai Kōgeki de Ni-kai Kōgeki no Okā-san wa Suki desu ka?'') is a fantasy {{Light Novel|s}} series written by Dachima Inaka and illustrated by Pochi Iida (of ''Manga/TheElderSisterLikeOne'' fame). It was serialized by Fujimi Fantasia Bunko from January 2017 to April 2020. This series earned a bit of [[https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2017-02-07/do-you-like-your-mom-light-novel-sells-12000-copies-in-9-days/.111918 huge]] [[https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2017-05-17/do-you-like-your-mom-light-novel-sales-exceed-100000/.116227 hype]] due to a deliberately provocative plot and a parody of the [[IncestSubtext current incestuous fashion]] in light novels. Ultimately, this led to the publishing house being able to sell the first two volumes in excess of 100,000 copies within a few months and win the Fantasia Grand Prize.

Masato Oosuki is a teenager who is embarrassed by his loving but smothering mother Mamako. One day, after filling out a survey, he gets transported to a fantasy world inside an online game and becomes excited that he's finally free of his mother and will get to be a cool hero. To his shock, Mamako gets transported to the world too and quickly overshadows him in skill and power. Masato has no choice but to travel with her.

A web {{manga}} adaptation was serialized in ''Young Ace Up'' from September 2017 to January 2021. Both the light novel and manga are licensed in North America by Creator/YenPress and an AnimatedAdaptation aired from July 13 to September 28, 2019. An OVA episode was released on March 25, 2020. The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJiungvqMlg trailer]] for the animated adaptation is available on [=YouTube=].

!!This work contains examples of:

* AffectionateParody: Of the oversaturated [[TrappedInAnotherWorld isekai]] market as a whole, and the IncestSubtext that sometimes crops up in light novels. Masato is a StockLightNovelHero given the chance to live out his fantasy of being a legendary hero who defeats the demon king with his harem of attractive adventurers, only to be undercut and thrown into sexually awkward situations at every turn by his overpowered, overly affectionate mother.
* AlwaysABiggerFish: In Episode 6, Masato and Medhi pursue a giant fish monster, but the fish gets caught and eaten by a giant sea anemone monster.
* AmnesiaEpisode: In the OVA episode, Masato suffers from amnesia, which results in him losing his memory, including who his mother is. After he finally recovers, [[spoiler:the episode ends with Mamako, Porta, Wise, and Medhi losing their memories]].
* BeachEpisode: The OVA takes place at the beach.
* BleachedUnderpants: The character designs are provided by hentai mangaka Pochi Iida, famous for her supernatural slice of life series ''Manga/TheElderSisterLikeOne''.
* CensorSteam: Happens during the hot spring scene of Episode 3. Mamako gets most of it, as usual, while Wise initially opts for a ModestyTowel, but does receives some coverage after dropping it. The steam also covers mostly just the front, as when Wise flees from the bath her rear isn't censored.
* ClothingDamage:
** In the second episode, Mamako gets covered in clothing-destroying goo after a slime attacks the party. And the same attack knocked Masato on top of her and left him too slippery to move.
** In the OVA, Masato's swimming trunks get shredded by Wise's wind attack. Later, a crab snips off Mamako's bikini.
* DidntThinkThisThrough:
** Sure, let's just make a portion of your playerbase [[PurposelyOverpowered grossly overpowered for shits and giggles]], WhatCouldPossiblyGoWrong The answer is [[WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity flagrant abuse of that power]], along with judicious amounts of (illegal) {{Game Mod}}ding to bend the rules of the system and wreaking all kinds of havoc that not even system admins could do anything about, of course. Fortunately, there just happens to be another mom on the hero's side to even things out.
** Granting grossly overpowered abilities to mothers in what would otherwise be any kid's greatest fantasy brought to life while denying those same kids such abilities? Virtually every child playing the game deeply resents this mechanic as it ruins a lot of the fun for many of them, to the point that a whole guild was spawned out of the plethora of players so they could play the game the way they originally intended to play it.
* DoItYourselfThemeTune: The ending theme is sung by Creator/AiKayano (Mamako).
* EarlyGameHell:
** Masato faces this hurdle from the get-go, not because the game itself is hard, but because Mamako kept hogging all of his kills without effort due to her [[PowerCreep artificially inflated combat abilities]]. In fact, this is the case for most players who join alongside their mothers, as they start low, and have to worry about mundane grinding as well as ''keeping'' all of their grinds from being yoinked by their overpowered mothers. It's never explained whether or not non-combatant players like Porta have to contend with this, however.
** This is taken to the extreme during the school event where Masato and Wise try to level themselves up. Despite already having hilariously bloated stats and not even directly participating in the event, Mamako is showered with XP by the teacher for even the most ridiculous answers and dominates the school festival without even trying to compete. And once it's all done, the only way Masato and Wise can get the gear they came to the school for in the first place is to spend their XP on a horribly rigged gacha wheel. After burning every point they earned, the two come away with an ocean of potions and only one real prize: an apron that only ''Mamako'' can equip, which Shirase implies ''shouldn't have even been in Masato's prize table''.
* EveryoneCanSeeIt: At the end of the first novel, [[spoiler:Wise is allowed to stay because of her obvious attraction to Masato. When Shirase starts talking about it, Wise subconsciously starts touching the matching ring she shared with him.]]
* ExcusePlot: Both the game and the story at large. The premise of the novel is that a government-funded organization created an MMORPG to promote familial bonding between moms and their children, and some players are selected to be beta testers, among them Masato and his mother. After being digitized into the game, the mom and son duo are tasked with improving their relationship if they're ever going to get out. Of course, [[DeconstructiveParody given what the two leads are like]], [[HilarityEnsues this could take a while]].
* ExoticEyeDesigns: As per the art style, everyone has white pupils. It could just be light reflections but peculiarly always centered over where their pupils would be.
* FacelessMasses: Zigzagged. While many generic [=NPCs=] don't have fully-rendered faces due to the game's ObviousBeta state, there ''are'' characters with full faces here and there, most notably important quest givers or functions (e.g. merchants, innkeepers, etc.).
* FormulaWithATwist: The series asks "What if TheHero was summoned into an RPGMechanicsVerse and was still outclassed by his own mother?"
* FullFrontalAssault: When a Slime destroys Mamako's clothes, she furiously kills it with her swords.
* FunWithAcronyms: The game is called a MMMMMORPG, which stands for "'''M'''om's '''M'''assively '''M'''aternal '''M'''ultiplayer '''M'''aking-up-with '''O'''ffspring '''R'''ole '''P'''laying '''G'''ame".
* GirlOnGirlIsHot: In episode 6, Shirase gives Mamako a hug, then unexpectedly starts rubbing all over her body and making her moan in order to take her measurements. Shirase asks Masato if this sight turns him on. He unconvincingly says it doesn't.
* HurricaneOfPuns: The settings, game mechanics, and character names are rife with mom puns.
* HyperactiveMetabolism: Averted. When Wise runs out of mana at one point, Porta hands her a large amount of potions to consume and get her energy back. She becomes sick and totally stuffed after just a few drinks.
* ImStandingRightHere: Episode 6 of the anime has Masato openly fawning over Medhi while also comparing Medhi and Wise's figures. ''While standing right next to Wise''. It doesn't end well for him.
* ImmunityAttrition: Medhimama uses a spell to make Medhi's classmates fall asleep. Masato isn't affected and explains his armor protects him from status effects. Medhimama simply turns up the power on her spell until it overrides his armor's protection.
* IncestSubtext: The series parodies this kind of {{Fanservice}}. Masato clearly and repeatedly makes it clear how he is annoyed by the ambiguous moments with his mother, yet we can repeatedly see that [[ParentalIncest he finds her sexually attractive]]. On the other hand, this ''also'' annoys him, and Mamako constantly frightens her son with her indiscreet behavior and unintentionally vulgar jokes. This is even recognized by Creator/YenPress, calling this series as a "mom[[RomanticComedy com]] roleplaying adventure" in its marketing materials. That said, he's horrified by seeing her in skimpy or fetishy clothes, to the point where he vomited blood in one instance.
* IndirectKiss: In the OVA, Porta tries to blow up an inner tube but runs out of breath, so Masato offers to do it. Wise jealously stops him because it would mean Masato and Porta's lips would indirectly touch.
* InfoDump: Due to the novel's threadbare explanation of lore and game mechanics, it is often the job of Shirase or other [=NPCs=] to deliver exposition or explain the situations that are unfolding.
* InsideAComputerSystem: Unlike most isekai works concerning [=MMORPGs=], Masato and Mamako are just literally ''sucked into the game'' via Masato's computer monitor, leaving no physical body outside of the system.
* KarmaHoudini: [[spoiler:Some of the more abusive parents such as Wise and Medhi's mother get off with hardly any punishment at all.]]
* KirkSummation: At the end of volume 3, Amante tries to {{break|ThemByTalking}} the party at the top of the tower. Masato then responds with a rousing speech that goes from acknowledging Amante's points to stating that the bizarre unknown of adventuring with one's mother, while odd, was a true adventure, boldly going where no RPG has gone before. This occurs in the last episode of the anime but in much abbreviated form.
* LapPillow: Mamako offered her son this to make amends after he lashed out at her following her armor shopping binge.
* LensFlareCensor: Mamako's naughty bits are covered with bright light shafts when her clothes are disintegrated by a boss slime. As with Wise's CensorSteam, her butt isn't censored.
* LimitedWardrobe: Zigzagged. While Masato, Porta, Medhi and Wise [[TwentyFourHourArmor always have their combat gear equipped]], Mamako and other moms notably have veritable stockpiles of cosmetics that they could change to at a whim.
* LoveAtFirstSight: Masato gets it bad for [[spoiler:Medhi]], though he dials it back a bit after seeing her dark side, and mostly gets over it not long after.
* LongTitle: As if the page name isn't obvious enough, the official English title is twelve words long. The title is so long that the licensed subs of the anime have to settle for the much shorter ''Okaa-san Online''.
* MarshmallowHell: Mamako does this to Masato in Episode 3 after jumping into the hot spring with him... to block his vision so Porta and Wise can get in too without him seeing them naked. She does it to Masato again in Episode 6 while congratulating him on winning the pool challenge.
* MyRulesAreNotYourRules: The MMORPG that the main cast are playing barely has any rules or guidelines as to what certain players can or cannot do. Balancing seems to be a foreign notion, as explained under EarlyGameHell, PowerCreep, and UnstableEquilibrium, but what's truly egregious about this is the fact that some (mom) players could outright do things they're not supposed to be able to do, up to and including casting spells without chanting, or creating game-breaking status buffs through cooking that makes a further joke of the game's mechanics.
* NegatedMomentOfAwesome: In the first episode of the anime, when Masato is first transported inside the game world. Surrounded by otherworldy scenery and creatures, he proclaims his dream of being a heroic adventurer has finally come true as [[TheDayTheMusicLied heroic music swells]]... [[MyBelovedSmother until his mother transports in right next to him and scolds him for leaving her behind]].
* NewLifeInAnotherWorldBonus:
** Masato and Mamako both get to pick a powerful, high-level sword after the game's introduction. The twist on the usual formula is that while Masato picks a relatively weak sword, Mamako [[DualWielding takes the two other swords]], [[TitleDrop both of which give her a powerful multi-target attack (hence the title)]] capable of wiping out entire swarms of enemies at once.
** Both Masato and Mamako's stat windows can be seen during their registration into the game. Mamako's strength stat exceeds 400 from the get-go, compared to Masato's 3. As other mothers are introduced, it is implied that all participating mothers in this game are given a perk that grants outstanding power.
* NoNameGiven: Not the characters themselves, but the encompassing game they're all playing.
* TheNudifier: Parodied when Masato and Mamako both get hit by a Slime's attacks. Mamako's clothes dissolve, while Masato gets confused why nothing is happening to his own clothes.
* ObviousBeta: The unnamed MMORPG the main cast is playing is explicitly noted to still be in closed beta. As such, many of the core mechanics haven't been put into place, actual game content is threadbare, balancing is all but non-existent, [[FacelessMasses and many of the generic [=NPCs=] don't even have proper faces]].
* OverlyLongGag: Mamako being the single most powerful entity in the game for no reason at all despite being entirely clueless about everything, [[RuleOfFunny and yet keeps getting showered with free stuff to make her even more broken.]]
* PleasePutSomeClothesOn: Masato says this when Mamako's clothes are destroyed by a Slime. Porta gives her a NakedApron, and Masato complains that just makes it worse.
* PowerCreep: Played for laughs thanks to the moms being PurposelyOverpowered.
* PowerPerversionPotential: Invoked by multiple monsters on Mamako for fanservice, on the grounds that these things rarely happen in anime to a mom.
* PurposelyOverpowered: As part of a gag, all moms in the game are given incredibly inflated stats and hilariously broken powers compared to those of their children, with Mamako being the prime example. They are also not governed by the game's rules on things such as player-killing, using third-party softwares to cheat, attacking/abusing [=GMs=] and game important [=NPCs=], or using CC spells on other players when not in combat, all of which are flagrantly displayed by Wise and Medhi's mothers.
* QuestioningTitle: Sounds like a joke at first, which is fitting for a parody, but by the end of the first volume, it seems it was actually a serious question for the main character, even excluding the IncestSubtext.
* RandomEventsPlot: Unlike most isekai work, there is seemingly no large underlying plot to the story, nor are there any major arcs, with Masato and co. only finding new things to do by being directed by Shirase, or directly blundering into it.
* RequiredPartyMember: Played with. Due to the game's nature, players ''cannot'' enjoy it solo. They have to enter it along with their mothers on registration, and have to somehow improve their relationship standings if they are ever going to leave. It's zigzagged in that as a player, you're ''not'' strictly required to party with your mom, but unless you're on good terms with her, having her goofing around doing anything else would be a detriment to yourself since there will be no progress made, as was the case with Wise and her mother. On a side note, it's unclear if ''dads'' will get to play this game as well, as it's seemingly designed to only accommodate mom-and-child pairs.
* RunningGag:
** At least every dialogue between Mamako and her son will contain jokes about the worldview of the housewife and the hysteria of Masato.
** Shirase almost always showing up injured and/or dead. Also, Shirase changing her name by making parts of it longer to say.
** Mamako herself is a walking, talking trove of these, most if not all of which are guaranteed to happen at least once an episode:
*** Masato and co. struggling to fight a boss or other mothers, only for Mamako to trot onto the scene and defeat everything in a single blow.
*** Mamako receiving preferential treatment by every NPC ever, on top of getting showered with every single game bonus under the sun, and then some, just by virtue of ''being there''.
* SchmuckBait: Masato and Wise are greeted with a quasi-gacha game after graduating from their special training class that they could spend their hard-earned SP to (maybe) get a good rare item. Like any other gacha, it only gave them HP and MP potions despite them dumping every single point into it. After wasting all his [=SPs=], Masato gets one free spin and ''finally'' gets something nice, but to his woes it's an apron that only his mother could wear that's not even supposed to be in the prize pool in the first place.
* ShoutOut: [[LightNovel/{{Slayers}} Lina Inverse]] makes a minimally-censored appearance in episode 2 when Masato is considering Wise's attitude.
* SquishyWizard: Wise and [[spoiler:her mother]] are both Sages, which, like all Mage-types, rely on magic to do anything. So when the enemy hits them with a sealing skill, they are instantly crippled.
* StealthParody: Of the overabundance of BrotherSisterIncest and {{Little Sister Heroine}}s in light novels. In particular, the author intentionally uses clichéd phrases from such stories like "we are family, so it's normal" or "the connection between us as a mother and a child". It also pokes fun at the popular trend of isekai protagonists always being TheAce, with how Masato, while GenreSavvy, is a complete pushover compared to his mom, who's at least three decades too old to understand the mechanics of the game she's in.[[note]]Her experience with games apparently stops at the Famicom, when RPG characters [[WithThisHerring started with crappy gear]] and had to grind their way up.[[/note]]
* StockLightNovelHero: [[DeconstructiveParody Mercilessly parodied through the premise "What if the standard light novel guy was shown up by his mother in the game just like in real life?"]]
* StoryBreakerPower: All moms in the game get this, [[spoiler:and someone is sending out hacked items to corrupt them with even more power]].
* SurpriseIncest: In the OVA, when Masato gets amnesia, he is instantly attracted to Mamako. Eventually, he declares his love for her, then grabs her and tries to kiss her. [[MomentKiller A kraken attacks them and then he suddenly regains his memories]].
* TanLines: In the OVA, Wise and Medhi develop tan lines after sunning themselves at the beach.
* TooMuchInformation: When Mamako's clothes are destroyed by a Slime, she complains she was wearing a thong. Masato yells he didn't need to hear that.
* TrappedInAnotherWorld: According to Wise, anyone transported to the game world can't leave unless they can improve their relationship with their mother.
* UnexpectedlyRealisticGameplay: When Wise's MP is drained, Porta provides her with a ton of MP restoring potions. The problem is that Wise's stomach becomes full just from drinking a few and she becomes sick when she tries to drink more, unlike in regular video games where players can take as many potions as they want.
* UnstableEquilibrium: All mothers in this game are granted extremely broken gear and stats at the start, gain experience and new skills by the truckload at the drop of a hat for seemingly no reason at all, while their children have to face the burden of EarlyGameHell and having all of their kills stolen from under their noses by their mothers. To put it into perspective: answering a question correctly nets Masato 10XP, while Mamako gets ''30'' just for ''being there''.
* UnwantedHarem: Subverted as Masato actually wants a harem. However, by volume 3, the girls he's adventuring with don't see him as a man anymore. Amante, the antagonist of volume 3, explains the reason for this is that the presence of a mother at the center of the party slowly turns the group into a sort of family, effectively killing any chance of members of the party developing romantic feelings for each other.
* WeaksauceWeakness: Both Wise and [[spoiler:her mother]] are specced as Mage characters who rely on their magic to do damage, so being hit with just a low-level sealing effect will cripple them instantly.
* TheWorfEffect: If there's a new boss, or another mother abusing illegal softwares to cheat, they'll always be reduced to complete pushovers by the time Mamako actually confronts them regardless of how unreasonably powerful they were just mere minutes before.
* YouAllLookFamiliar: Almost every important NPC Masato encounters in-game are modeled after and uses a variant of Shirase's name. Masato thinks she keeps getting NewJobsAsThePlotDemands, however.
