As her grandmother (who 'also' has never spent time with her) puts it, the heiress of the house is being raised to see everyone in the mansion as her enemy. [[spoiler: When she's kidnapped, it's not because she's a baron's daughter, it's because the kidnappers thought she was Ellen since neither they nor anybody else was aware another girl lived in the manor. When she gets saved, her life somehow gets worse. Her father became extremely overprotective. Cutting off any form of communication to the outside world and locking her in the mansion. Her mother still doesn't care about her, and the servants only still have eyes and praises for Ellen. When she finally gets a small break in being able to attend school, it's quickly ruined when Ellen visits with her father. It doesn't take long before everyone soon starts to compare her to Ellen, even going so far as to harass and bully her for both being born to a commoner mother and for being nothing when compared to her cousin.]]
