Keep in mind that Kiyo himself ''did not know who the culprit was'' and was merely reacting to the plot by itself.

** In ''Super Mario RPG'', Lucah takes down all but one of [[FlunkyBoss Jonathan Jones's flunkies]], reasoning that he'll just summon new ones if she defeats them all. Leaving one of them alive does indeed make the battle easier, but it's actually because if you do defeat them all, [[spoiler:Jonathan will [[DuelBoss challenge Mario to a one-on-one duel]]]].
