It would seem that whoever the favorite character is, shippers generally feel they go nicely with [[HeroesWantRedheads the cute redhead ninja]].

*** Though canonically straight (and [[OfficialCouple spoken for]]), Cloud is a favorite of [[YaoiFangirl the yaoi fandom]], who ships him with just about every other male character from ''"The Compilation"''; most often with [[FoeYay Sephiroth]], Zack, and Vincent. But thanks to ''[[VideoGame/DissidiaFinalFantasy Dissidia]]'', he's also a favorite for crossover shipping, with Cloud/[[Characters/FinalFantasyVI Terra]] and Cloud/[[Characters/FinalFantasyXIII Lightning]] both being popular fan pairings. So you can find plentiful amounts of fan art dedicated to them. And thanks to their appearance in [[Creator/MontyOum Monty Oum's]] ''WebAnimation/DeadFantasy'', he's also shipped [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyX2 with Yuna.]]
*** Zack gets paired with Aerith, due [[TogetherInDeath their official status]], and [[Characters/FinalFantasyVIIShinraInc with Cissnei]] because of his interactions with her in ''VideoGame/CrisisCore''. But, like Cloud, he mainly gets shipped with the other male characters. Mostly with: [[MentorShip Angeal]], Cloud himself, [[FoeYay and Genesis.]]

** In ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXV'', Noctis gets paired up with just about ''everyone''. There's his official love interest Lunafreya, Iris who has a crush on him, his three friends whom he shares HoYay with, Nyx from ''Anime/KingsglaiveFinalFantasyXV'' (despite only meeting him once offscreen), temporary party members Cor and Aranea, as well as FoeYay with his enemies Ravus and Ardyn. Heck, even the pairing of him and ''[[TagalongKid Talcott]]'' has a fandom (although only once he's an adult). And of course there's the aforementioned CrossoverShip with Lightning.

** Ike from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemPathOfRadiance'' and ''VideoGame/FireEmblemRadiantDawn''. On the canon side? ShipTease with Princess Elincia, HoYay with Soren, and another GayOption with Ranulf, plus Marcia constantly calling him "handsome." And of course, Aimee's relentless chasing of him. The fans, however, have added Mia, Geoffrey, Zelgius, Boyd, Tibarn, [[FoeYay Shinon]], Titania, [[HeroWorshipper Sothe]] and even [[PhysicalGod Yune]]. [[VideoGame/SuperSmashBros "We Like Ike"]] indeed...

* ''VideoGame/HeavyRain'': Norman Jayden, the only one of the four heroes without a canonical love interest, is consequentially paired with everyone in the game, from [[HoYay Ethan Mars]] to [[FoeYay Carter Blake]].

* In the ''VideoGame/KnightsOfTheOldRepublic'' fandom, the first game's PlayerCharacter [[spoiler: Revan]] is shipped with [[OfficialCouple Carth]], Canderous, [[GayOption Juhani]], [[OfficialCouple Bastila]], Malak, and [[FoeYay the Exile]], to list the most popular ones.

* As the only female character in ''VideoGame/LiveALive'' who can be brought to the final battle, and hence the only one who can canonically meet the protagonists from other eras, Li has been shipped across time and space. Popular love interests include Akira and [[FoeYay Odio]], but Masaru and Oboromaru are also occasional fic subjects, as is Yuan in the {{Fix Fic}}s where [[spoiler:they both survive.]]

** X has been paired with Alia, [[VideoGame/MegaManXCommandMission Nana]], his love interest from the manga Marty, [[VideoGame/MegaManXtreme2 Berkana]] because of the FoeYay, on occasion with Axl for those who prefer HoYay, and even Vile. There's even a couple of fan art of X with Iris, Zero's love interest.
** For Zero, there's the canon (and {{memetic|Mutation}}ally [[ILetGwenStacyDie tragic]]) pairing with [[VideoGame/MegaManX4 Iris]], [[VideoGame/MegaManX8 Layer]] because of ShipTease (despite Zero being both [[ObliviousToLove dense]] and probably not in the mood for romance given what happened to Iris), [[VideoGame/MegaManXCommandMission Ferham]] because of FoeYay (she really seemed to [[{{Sadist}} enjoy]] [[WhipItGood whipping him]]...), and -- though less frequently -- Axl for reasons similar to X (only magnified because, if ''[[VideoGame/MegaManX7 X7]]'' is any indication, Zero had to babysit Axl while out in the field before X came out of his TenMinuteRetirement). Going forward to ''VideoGame/MegaManZero'' adds Ciel and Leviathan -- the former is all but stated to be in love with him (which makes [[spoiler:[[TheHeroDies the ending]] of ''[[VideoGame/MegaManZero4 Z4]]'' that much more heartbreaking]]) while the latter is fond of both [[TheTease teasing]] and [[BloodKnight fighting]] Zero in a manner that's borderline FoeRomanceSubtext. One can even find pics of Zero and Roll.
* ''VideoGame/MegaManStarForce'': Geo goes with everyone, mostly because the game and anime each drop plenty of scenes for him that could be interpreted as {{Ship Tease}}s -- with several different characters. LoveTriangle with [[BettyAndVeronica Luna and Sonia]], HoYay with Pat and Ace, FoeYay with Solo and Jack. (And perhaps maybe with "imagination"!)

* ''Franchise/MortalKombat'': Sub-Zero. [[VideoGame/MortalKombat2 The younger one, anyway.]] Canonically, the closest thing he has to a girlfriend/partner/lover is [[VideoGame/MortalKombatMythologiesSubZero Sareena]], whom he enjoys a hefty amount of ShipTease with. But thanks to the magic of ShippingGoggles, all of his friendships and rivalries are misconstrued as possible ships. HeterosexualLifePartners with Smoke and [[VideoGame/MortalKombatDeadlyAlliance Kenshi]]? HoYay. Former archnemesis of Scorpion? FoeYay. [[DeceptiveDisciple Former pupil]] Frost is [[FoeYay eerily-obsessed with him?]] MentorShip. Not even his older brother, Elder Sub-Zero/Noob Saibot [[IncestYayShipping is safe from being paired up with Subby]] (it doesn't help that there's a LoveTriangle-esque relationship between them and Sareena, as Sareena also had feelings for the original Sub-Zero). [[ShipsThatPassInTheNight He also tends to be paired up with females he's only acquaintances with at best.]] Sub-Zero/Kitana, Sub-Zero/Jade, and Sub-Zero/Mileena have all popped up before on several occasions, and all are popular in their own right. Smoke (in most titles) [[RoboShip is a cyborg]], whereas Scorpion and Noob are undead and Sareena is [[InterspeciesRomance a demon]] [[HotSkittyOnWailordAction in human guise.]] It doesn't hurt that he's also [[MrFanservice fangirl bait]], so expect the female fans to create [=OC=]s to jump Sub-Zero's bones as well.

** The real winner of this trope, as far as Generation V goes, is N Harmonia. The fact that he's characterized as [[AmbiguousDisorder socially awkward]] has not stopped fans from pairing him with (drumroll): [[FoeYay Hilda]], [[HoYay Hilbert]], [[OneTrueThreesome both]], Nate, Rosa, Bianca, Cheren, Serena, Red, [[InterspeciesRomance Zoroark]], and '''[[IncestYay Ghestis]]'''!!

** Ryu gets his share, too, despite his [[ChasteHero lack of interest]] in love life, being paired with Chun-Li, Cammy, Sakura, Juri Han, Rose, Ibuki (?), Makoto (??), Ken ([[HoYay oh boy]])... and [[CrackPairing Bison]]? And maybe [[FoeYay Sagat]], that is, if he's not busy with his [[MemeticMutation cornflakes]].

*** Add [[VideoGame/FinalFight Guy]] to that list. While it's been established that Guy already has a fiancee, Rena (the DamselInDistress of ''Final Fight 2''), he has (to date) ''three'' additional partners according to the fandom. The first is Maki, Rena's younger sister who displays a very curious {{Tsundere}}-like complex towards her brother-in-law [[note]]this [[FoeYay "Rival Yay"]] is instead likely her desire to beat Guy and become the 40th Bushin Master; [[TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou if she doesn't, someone else could come up and steal the chance to do so away from her]][[/note]]. ''Super Street Fighter IV'' then added [[VideoGame/StreetFighterIII Ibuki]] and [[VideoGame/StreetFighterAlpha Rose]]. Whereas the former is more centered around the basis that [[ThemePairing both characters are]] {{ninja}}s, the latter is pretty damn close to a RelationshipWritingFumble. Most fans who have seen Guy's [[FightingYourFriend Rival Battle]] and [[ShipTease both his and Rose's ending cutscenes]] in ''SSFIV'' [[ShippingGoggles have been subsequently unable to see them as anything other than]] lovers or (at the very least) two very, ''very'' [[TrueCompanions close friends]] with a lot of [[UnresolvedSexualTension UST]], leading Guy/Rose to very quickly rise to FanPreferredCouple status.
* [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Mario]] goes with everybody. It's not just limited to female characters, either. [[IncestYayShipping Luigi]] is sometimes paired with him, and so is [[FoeYay Bowser]].

** Lloyd Irving from ''VideoGame/TalesOfSymphonia''. Seriously, he's paired with everyone in the game, although he's frequently shipped [[ChildhoodFriendRomance with Colette]], [[FanPreferredCouple and Sheena]]. There are many who pair him with Raine or Presea. [[HoYay Maybe even Zelos]]. Or even [[FoeYay paired with Yggdrasill]].

** Even [[FoeYay antagonists]] and his [[EvilCounterpart Evil Counterparts]] can't resist! [[ThereCanOnlyBeOne Ryuji]], [[TragicVillain Mine]], [[ShadowArchetype Someya...]] Hell, some even ship him with the ''[[EvilOldFolks Dojima Lieutenants!]]''

** Mercy is currently shipped with the most characters which includes: Junkrat, Roadhog ([[OneTrueThreesome or Junkrat and Roadhog]]), Genji, Soldier: 76, [=McCree=], Widowmaker, Pharah, Zarya, Reaper, Mei, Reinhardt, Hanzo and Ana.

** Strangely enough, Junkrat is this as well. He's been paired with Mercy, Roadhog, Mei, Symmetra, Lucio, D.Va, and [=McCree=]
** Ana. Being one of the only characters with a known child, everyone speculates as to who Pharah's father was. The dialogue she has with most of her old teammates is full of ShipTease, with all of them upset that they didn't know she was still alive, her complimenting Reinhardt and Soldier:76 on how good they look, and Reinhardt and [=McCree=] flat out flirting with her. Even Reaper is upset that she sided with Jack over him, which has fanned flames of a possible LoveTriangle or LoveDodecahedron; after all, if fans can't decide which of the original team she slept with to conceive Pharah, then the next best thing is to assume she slept with them ''all''.
*** Father speculation aside (which currently includes Soldier: 76, Reaper, and Reinhardt) she's also shipped [=McCree=], Mercy, and Widowmaker. Also, she's currently the ''only'' person shipped with Torbjorn. This is especially impressive since she is 60 years old.

** [=McCree=] is been paired with quite the number of characters due to a large number of fans think he is attractive and his unique cowboy aesthetic. He's frequently paired with [[FanPreferredCouple Hanzo]], Symmetra, Lucio ([[CrackShip all of whom he never met or interact with]]), his former superiors Reaper, Soldier: 76 and Ana, his former Overwatch fellow teammates Genji, Mercy and Mei, his former Deadlock gang member [[LikeAnOldMarriedCouple Ashe]] and Echo.

** Leon Magnus from ''VideoGame/TalesOfDestiny'', as the fan favourite, has been paired with everyone. [[OedipusComplex Marian]], [[YaoiGuys Stahn]], [[ShipMates Philia]], [[CargoShip Chaltier]], [[BrotherSisterIncest Rutee]], [[ParentalIncest Hu]][[MemeticMolester go]], [[spoiler: [[ScrewYourself Judas]]]], [[CrackPairing Lilith]], sometimes even [[CrossoverShip Yuri]]. Oddly, [[spoiler: Judas]] is rarely shipped with anyone besides Harold or Philia.

* Dante of ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry'' fame gets this, mainly due to his status as an ActionHero. Not only is he paired with his {{implied love interest}}s from the first three games (i.e. [[HighHeelFaceTurn Trish]], [[EverythingSoundsSexierInFrench Lucia]], and [[BelligerentSexualTension Lady]]), but {{Yaoi Fangirl}}s just love to pair him up with [[CainAndAbel Vergil]] (''[[{{Twincest}} his own brother]]''), [[WorthyOpponent Nelo Angelo]] ([[spoiler:who ''is'' Vergil]]), and [[RedOniBlueOni Nero]] ([[spoiler:who, as of the fifth game, is confirmed to be Vergil's son and therefore Dante's ''nephew'']]). People also love to CargoShip Dante with his Devil Arms (''especially'' [[HornyDevils Nevan]]). Very few notable characters are excluded from Dante's "harem"; [[ParentalIncest Sparda and Eva]], Kyrie (Nero's [[ChildhoodFriendRomance Victorious Childhood Friend]]), the side characters from the second game and novels, [[MagnificentBastard Arkham]], [[HeroAntagonist Credo]], [[CrystalDragonJesus Sanctus]], and [[{{Satan}} Mundus]] seem to be untouched, but it would be no surprise if said pairings had their own niche. Finally, there's the [[FanPreferredCouple Fan-Preferred Couples]] of Dante and VideoGame/{{Bayonetta}} (his DistaffCounterpart) or [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Morrigan]] (you can mainly thank ''[[VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcom3 MvC3]]'' for this one). Naturally, some ''epic'' ShipToShipCombat ensues.

*** Sophitia/Siegfried is the series' long-enduring FanPreferredCouple, and it even has some support in official circumstances, what with the very few times the two characters have interacted in-game dripping with subtext: Sophitia collapses prior to the events of ''Soulcalibur'' after having a vision of Siegfried as Nightmare. In the same game, Sophitia shares a Destined Battle with Nightmare (keep in mind that Destined Battles tend to occur between characters with a significant connection, such as family, mortal enemies, or even lovers); Sophitia steps forward to challenge him and states her resolve with the words "I want to... save you," possibly implying she knows that Siegfried is Nightmare (or at least that Nightmare is really a tortured soul under Soul Edge's sway). Siegfried also rescues a captured Sophitia early on in the admittedly non-canon ''Legends'' (which would be set between ''Edge'' and ''Calibur'') and she's one of three women to face Siegfried in his ''IV'' story right before his final battle with Nightmare (the others being Hilde and Ivy, who likewise have strong ties to Siegfried). ''[[VideoGame/SoulcaliburVI VI]]'' also has Sophitia personally seek out a post-possession Siegfried for what is basically a re-enactment of the aforementioned Destined Battle, but despite the warm, vaguely romantic undertones in their scenes together, she's already engaged to Rothion. Speaking of whom, the only thing that seems to stand in the way of this ship is Sophitia's husband Rothion, [[DieForOurShip who fans would like nothing more than to see die or otherwise removed from the picture]]... at least until he ''finally'' made an in-game appearance in ''VI'', portrayed as a loving and devoted partner to Sophitia. [[RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap The fandom mostly warmed up to him after that]], though shipping-related hostilities still persist.
*** Hilde, being the most stalwart [[ShipToShipCombat competitor]] to Siegfried/Sophitia despite making her debut ''four'' games after them, also has strong ties to Siegfried, with her story in ''IV'' dovetailing with his (he wields Soul Calibur, which was integral to the founding of Wolfkrone and thus revered as a holy sword by her kingdom) and both characters appearing in each others' stories at some point. Most telling is the fact that Hilde's ending is the only one in ''IV'' where Siegfried is present but ''doesn't'' die (either by [[DeathSeeker his own hands]] or someone else's); she instead gives him the one thing [[TheAtoner he's been searching for ever since breaking free of Soul Edge's influence]]: {{forgiveness}}. (The warm, vaguely flirty smile she gives a gobsmacked Siegfried also did not go unnoticed by shippers.) Hilde even works under him in ''V'', having been invited into Schwarzwind (Siegfried's band of mercenaries) after [[YouCantGoHomeAgain the fall of Wolfkrone]], and seems to be somewhat playful with him when they spar together in-game, though -- to the disappointment of many -- [[ShipSinking he isn't the father of her kids]].

* Despite the {{meme|ticMutation}} "Everyone is [[UsefulNotes/FurryFandom furry]] for Krystal," [[note]]the BerserkButton of all who are not, especially those who have gone furry for [[ComicStrip/StarFox Fara]][[/note]] Krystal from ''VideoGame/StarFox'' is not the most prominent example of this trope from the series. Instead Fox tends to be paired with most of the other characters, [[HoYay yet he is rarely paired with any of the female characters aside from Krystal.]]

** In fanfiction (and hentai art), she's mainly seen with other women, mostly with Cammy and, occasionally, Sakura. Crossovers tend to pair her with [[VideoGame/FatalFury Mai Shiranui]] and [[VideoGame/ArtOfFighting Yuri Sakazaki]] of ''VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters'' fame.

S/he can marry '''any''' player character (including the Paralogue characters [[spoiler:[[TheCaligula Gangrel]], [[TheConqueror Walhart]], [[EvilSorcerer Aversa]], Emmeryn, and Ike's descendant Priam]] ''and'' the [[TimeTravelRomance Child characters]] like [[spoiler:Lucina, Nah, or Yarne]]... and yes, s/he can have a kid with them), provided they're of the opposite gender.
*** Heck, the only ''Awakening'' characters that ''can't'' be paired with everyone else in-game are pre-promotes like Say'ri, Tiki, Anna and the [=SpotPass=] characters. And even that doesn't stop fans from coming up with their own fanon ships.
*** And now that the Avatar (or [[CanonName Robin]]) is in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'', people are already coming up with new "[[CrackPairing support conversations]]" with [[VideoGame/{{Metroid}} Samus]], [[VideoGame/SuperMarioBros Rosalina]], [[VideoGame/FZero Captain Falcon]], [[VideoGame/XenobladeChronicles1 Shulk]], you name it. God only knows how [[spoiler: Morgan]] would turn out with any of ''them'' as his/her other parent.

** And now ''VideoGame/FireEmblemHeroes''... oh GOD. It already has an INCREDIBLE amount of characters from all over the ''Fire Emblem'' universe (with the implication that they're planning to eventually incorporate EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER in the franchise) and there's a support system with the player character summoner (comparable to the tactician from ''Blazing Blade'') and between characters. Therefore, ANY ship is possible.

** He has never been coupled with [[AnimeChineseGirl Litchi Faye-Ling]], though. [[RolePlay/BlazBlue3RP A Web Works made it happen instead, though not in a romantic way]].

** While Kiyotaka from [[VisualNovel/DanganronpaTriggerHappyHavoc the first game]] is [[HoYay primarily paired up with Mondo]], he is also paired up with Chihiro, Celeste, Leon, Makoto, Daiya, [[spoiler:Mukuro]], and [[spoiler:[[ScrewYourself Kiyondo]]]].

** Not to be outdone, Meta Knight is shipped with Kirby, Tiff, Garlude, King Dedede, Galacta Knight, Magolor and Susie.

* For some obscure reason, ''VideoGame/DynastyWarriors'' Sun Shang Xiang is fair game with everyone in Wu [[BrotherSisterIncest including her brothers]], half the folks in Shu, and ''[[CrackPairing Sima Yi]]'' if you look hard enough. Although she may have to compete with her husband Liu Bei, honored with the [[http://community.livejournal.com/capslock_koei/profile Capslock_Koei]] tag "Shu mourns the loss of its bicycle." Bei's epic {{shiptease}}ry is [[Literature/RomanceOfTheThreeKingdoms completely historical]].

* Leon Kennedy, of ''Franchise/ResidentEvil'' is a classical Type A, sometimes even to the point of EvenTheGuysWantHim among players. His canon love interest is Ada (and to a lesser extent, Angela, who appeared once and then was PutOnABus), but he's also regularly paired with Ashley, Claire, Jill, Steve, Chris, Wesker, Luis, Krauser, Hunnigan, Kevin, Manuela, Buddy, Helena, Sherry, and Mike the Helicopter Guy. In addition to the large amounts of zombie porn that affect all characters within the fandom and countless self-inserts. Admittedly, the fact that he almost always ends up with a female character for a partner and the fact that at least two of them seem to have crushes on him does not help, nor does his (failed) attempt to get Hunnigan's number.
** Claire Redfield, however, falls quite neatly under Type B as the "kickass everygirl" who has no special training and a kind heart, but still keeps up with the rest of the characters. Her ships includes Steve, Leon, Ada, Sherry, Alfred, Wesker, Jill, Rebecca, [[spoiler:Carla]], and her brother Chris, though many crack pairings exist for whatever character the author deems most attractive.

* Endou from ''VideoGame/InazumaEleven'' seems to get paired up with every other major character in the series, both male and female, most likely because he [[AllLovingHero can and does become good friends with anyone and everyone]]. Then there's a bunch of {{Starboarding}} with Endou on the receiving end, since he's a [[ObliviousToLove completely oblivious]] ChasteHero. Plus there are some fans who jokingly ship Endou x Soccer (yes, as in UsefulNotes/AssociationFootball).
* ''Franchise/DragonAge'':

Unlike ''Dragon Age II'', the love interests in ''Inquisition'' vary based on your character's gender, sexuality, and race. A female elf, however, also has access to two more: Cullen (who is only into humans and elves) and Solas (who is only into other elves). This brings her total to ''six'' potential suitors.

** ''Franchise/FireEmblem'' characters pretty much instantly get turned into this when they're revealed. Marth and Ike have especially been paired with everyone constantly since ''Melee'', though it's most common to ship them with Link, Zelda, Peach, or each other.
** This is inevitable for VideoGame/{{Bayonetta}} once she was announced and it's becoming apparent. For a dose of irony, the two earliest (and so far most prevalent) are [[VideoGame/KidIcarus Pit and Palutena]].
** When it comes to the [[PuppyLove younger characters]], Ness is the most shipped. Ness/Red, Ness/Toon Link, Ness/Lucas, etc.
** Sonic has been paired with nearly ''every'' female fighter since his first appearance in ''Brawl'', along with quite a few men.
* One would be quick to dismiss that ''VideoGame/PuyoPuyo'' doesn't have much ship fuel, being a puzzle game, but you'd be wrong.
** Schezo is paired with Arle, Rulue, Witch, Satan, Seriri, Lagnus, Incubus, Lemres, and Doppelganger Schezo, out of way too many characters to count. Yes, he ships with his own doppelganger. When he says "I want you!" did he really mean it this way? Nobody knows.
** Sig is just as big of an example, with Amitie, Strange Klug, Klug, Arle, Lidelle, Raffina and Lemres only being the tip of the iceberg. Even characters who he has yet to interact with, like Maguro, Seriri, Draco or Doppelganger Arle are paired with him.
* Due to the PlayerCharacter [[spoiler:Frisk]] having no [[AmbiguousGender defined gender]] in VideoGame/{{Undertale}}, they are depicted as whatever gender needed to push a ship forward, typically female for the majority of ships, however some male examples exist, such as being shipped with Muffet or [[spoiler:[[ScrewYourself Chara]]]].

** Siegfried, bar none, has become this. Being both the main protagonist and--[[BrainwashedAndCrazy as]] [[BigBad Nightmare]]--SeriesMascot, Siegfried has been paired with practically every female character in the series at some point. His most popular pairings (from most popular to least) are with Sophitia, Hilde, Ivy, Tira, and Cassandra.

*** Hilde, being the most stalwart [[ShipToShipCombat competitor]] to Siegfried/Sophitia despite making her debut ''four'' games after them, also has strong ties to Siegfried, with her story in ''IV'' dovetailing with his (he wields Soul Calibur, which was integral to the founding of Wolfkrone and thus revered as a holy sword by her kingdom) and both characters appearing in each others' stories at some point. Most telling is the fact that Hilde's ending is the only one in ''IV'' where Siegfried is present but ''doesn't'' die (either by [[DeathSeeker his own hands]] or someone else's); she instead gives him the one thing [[TheAtoner he's been searching for ever since breaking free of Soul Edge's influence]]: {{forgiveness}}. (The warm, vaguely flirty smile she gives a gobsmacked Siegfried also did not go unnoticed by shippers.) Hilde even works under him in ''V'', having been invited into Schwarzwind (Siegfried's band of mercenaries) after [[YouCantGoHomeAgain the fall of Wolfkrone]], and seems to be somewhat playful with him when they spar together in-game, though--to the disappointment of many--[[ShipSinking he isn't the father of her kids]].
*** Ivy worked for Siegfried while he was Nightmare, so the two have a deeper connection than the others--as evidenced by Ivy being present alongside the aforementioned Sophitia and Hilde in the penultimate battle of Siegfried's story in ''IV''. Their common nature as beings corrupted by Soul Edge makes them stand out from other examples.
*** Though Siegfried had abandoned the identity of Nightmare by the time of ''III'' (with Nightmare instead becoming [[AnimatedArmor Soul Edge's will bonded to the Azure Knight's discarded armor]]), Tira first offered her services to Nightmare back when he was still Siegfried--the ravens seen the opening cinematic for ''II'' belong to her. Tira sees Soul Edge/Nightmare as a kindred spirit and even fell in love with the cursed sword, spending a good portion of Tales of Soul (''III''[='s=] Story Mode) playfully teasing Siegfried about his time as the Azure Knight. She continues to playfully antagonize Siegfried in the next installment.

* Aloy from ''VideoGame/HorizonZeroDawn'' gets shipped with a lot of the [=NPCs=], both male and female. It helps that a lot of them flirt with her to one degree or another during the dialogue. Teb, Vala, Varl, Erend, Talanah, Vanasha, Petra, Nil, Avad, and Ikrie all have varying amounts of chemistry with her.
* ''VideoGame/{{ARMS}}:'' About half of the characters get shipped at one point or another. But the most prominent are Spring Man, Min Min and Twintelle. While Spring Man's funny personality can lead to some of the meaningful ships, Twintelle's [[MsFanservice beauty and poses]] led her some of the ships early on. Min Min has been shipped quite alot thanks to her inclusion in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate''.

* ''VideoGame/OctopathTraveler'': Out of the eight main characters, Therion tends to be shipped around the most. He's been shipped with Ophilia, Primrose, Tressa, Alfyn, Cyrus, Cordelia...

** Lyndis from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemTheBlazingBlade'' already has four ''canon'' love interests (five if you count [[LesYay Florina]] as one). Also, Sain and Wil are considered extremely plausible lovers, Karel/Lyn and Lyn/Ninian have niche followings in the fandom, and one author even managed to pair her with ''Renault'' and make it plausible. There's the infamous [[MarySue Lyn/Tactician]] fics.

* ''VideoGame/{{ARMS}}:'' Spring Man has gotten a ton of ships since the game's launch due to his flamboyant look and his funny personality. There's also Ribbon Girl due to her looks and being able to sing and usually the secondary SeriesMascot. Ninjara also gets some ships too because of his levelheaded personality and how often he hides. (Whatever if it is for ambush or shyness is completely up to you.) Twintelle and Max Brass also gets into these kinds of ships sometimes because of their looks. In Max Brass' case, this is also due to his [[LargeHam hammy]] personality and in Twintelle's case, it's due to her (In the fans' eyes) being the dominant to the other fighters.

** In ''VideoGame/FireEmblemTheBindingBlade'', there's Roy. He has six possible wives, subtext with two girls he can't support, and can support with 4 other males, one of which is his milk brother (or male maid), and is obviously a target for BodyguardCrush. Not to mentioned that he's often shipped with the other fighters on the ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros. Melee'' roster...
