* ''Film/TheGreenMile'': Percy Wetmore, the mean-spirited TokenEvilTeammate of the guards is the most hated character in the film by far. His actions amount to breaking prisoner Eduard Delacroix's fingers with a baton just because Del smirked at him, stepping on his pet mouse Mr. Jingles (which is quickly revived by John Coffey), and sabotaging his execution by not wetting the sponge, resulting in a longer, more painful electrocution. Keep in mind that Del clearly committed a horrible crime to end up on death row[[note]]His crimes are not stated in the film, but in the novel, it's said that he raped and murdered a young girl, tried to burn her body to hide the evidence, but the fire he set grew out of control and killed six more people[[/note]]. Despite this, Del manages to be more likable than Percy due to his childlike demeanor, his good relationships with the other guards as well as John Coffey, his affection for Mr. Jingles and the fact that he's genuinely remorseful for his crimes, apologizing to those he hurt and accepting his punishment without resistance. Percy is a hateful, {{sadist}}ic {{Jerkass}} who has no positive qualities and is able to get away with his misdeeds because [[{{Nepotism}} he is the nephew of the state governor]], which is the type of person that many have had to deal with in their real life workplace. Then there's Wild Bill Wharton, a [[PoliticallyIncorrectVillain racist]] SerialKiller who killed three people (including a pregnant woman) in an armed robbery and [[spoiler:raped and murdered two little girls, leading to John Coffey being executed in his place.]] While both Percy and Wild Bill are horrible people, Wild Bill is AxCrazy in an [[LaughablyEvil over-the-top and entertaining way]] (he even threatens Percy a time or two, which helps his case a bit) and his worst crimes are only revealed towards the end. Even after TheReveal, Percy is still the most hated character.

* ''Film/DrillbitTaylor'': The main villains in the story are Filkins and Ronnie, two [[BarbaricBully Barbaric Bullies]] who terrorize Wade, Ryan, and Emmitt daily, to the point where hire Drillbit Taylor as their bodyguard. And yet, they are impossible to hate due to their [[LaughablyEvil hilarious moments]]. Wade's {{Jerkass}} stepbrothers and stepfather also give him heart-to-heart talks. Meanwhile, Don and his gang of hobos serve as a bad influence on Drillbit, leading to his friendship with the main trio breaking apart. Don is arrested for after a fight with Drillbit, although the others [[KarmaHoudini never face punishment]].

The same extends to Wade's {{Jerkass}} stepbrothers and stepfather, the latter of whom even gives Wade a couple heart-to-heart pep talks. Don and the other homeless people, on the other hand, serve as a bad influence to Drillbit, with Don dishing out quite a few KickTheDog moments to the latter and even rob Wade's house even after Drillbit expressly states he doesn't want to do it, which leads to Wade, Ryan, and Emmit breaking off their friendship with him. To add insult to injury, when Drillbit goes to save the stolen stuff and return it to Wade, [[NeverMyFault Don believes it's Drillbit's fault that their own friendship is falling apart, saying, "I'll give you one last chance to save this friendship!"]] Aside from Don -- [[LaserGuidedKarma who gets his face kicked by Drillbit, gets his fingers slammed in a van door, and is later arrested]] -- [[KarmaHoudini the homeless people never get punished for their actions]].

* ''Film/BabyDriver'': The most hated character from the film is Baby's birth father, who is an abusive unloving alcoholic bastard who hits his wife and yells at Baby whenever he gets the chance just cause he can. [[AssholeVictim He also causes the car crash that got him and his wife killed and gave Baby his tinnitus]]. The villains of the film (both major and minor) are Doc, Griff, Buddy, Darling, Eddie No-Nose, JD, and Bats (and to extent, Doc's nephew Sam and the crew's main arms dealer The Butcher), all of whom are part of a criminal organization who have committed far more severe crimes than Baby's father can ever dream of committing, especially Bats (a mass-murdering trigger-happy psychopath who enjoys committing crimes both major and minor just for the hell of it and is implied to have killed a gas station attendant just so he wouldn't have to pay for the stuff he ordered, even nearly killing Baby's girlfriend, Debora, for the same reason at the diner she works at had Baby not stopped him), and force Baby to be the wheelman for their crimes as a way to pay off a debt he owes to them. However, they are all very charismatic and entertaining to watch, even carrying an AffablyEvil (even Griff and, to an extent, Bats) and EvilIsCool vibe. This is especially true for Doc, Buddy and Darling, who are the nicest to Baby (especially the latter two). Besides, people in the audience are more likely to know an abusive alcoholic asshole than a group of armed robbers, let alone a murderous psychopath.

* ''Film/KindergartenCop'': Cullen Crisp is a crime lord, who is willing to kidnap his own son and hold him hostage at gunpoint during the climax of the movie and yet he is not as loathsome as [[AbusiveParents Mr. Sullivan,]] Zack's father. When John Kimble sees that Zack was being beaten again, [[PapaWolf he angrily confronts Mr. Sullivan]], punches him in the gut when he tries to take a swing at Kimble and was willing to completely beat him, until he sees [[NotInFrontOfTheKid a bunch of parents with their own kids watching him,]] so he stops himself and tells him that [[BadassTeacher he's going to press charges against him instead.]] Many thought that John punching out Zack's abusive father was the most cathartic moment of the film. Even the school principal, who was reasonably skeptical of having Kimble as an undercover teacher with zero teaching experience was glad that he [[PayEvilUntoEvil "hit that son of a bitch."]]

* ''Film/ProjectX'': Costa is utterly despised by most viewers for his repugnant nature, being bigoted, amoral, and responsible for numerous problems. Compare that to T-Rick, an AxCrazy drug dealer who goes as far as [[spoiler:''purposely setting the entire neighborhood on fire'']] out of pure spite. It also helps that the latter ends up getting arrested, whereas the former ends up avoiding punishment (except for three pending paternity lawsuits).

So how do you manage to make the VillainProtagonist more tolerable than those around her? Furthermore, Tricia (said mother) and Gunnar (said brother) are easier to hate because of their racism against Leena for being Eastern European, classism, ableism in mocking her dwarfism, and self-centered natures.]]

* ''Film/The7thVoyageOfSinbad'': On one hand, we have our BigBad Sokurah who wants the magic lamp for his own nefarious schemes and shrunk Princess Parisa. Yet he is very hard to hate thanks to his FauxAffablyEvil demeanor and Torin Thatcher’s hammy yet charismatic performance. We can’t even hate the monsters since they are cool. Parisa’s father, The Sultan of Chandra on the other hand is a straight up jerk. He seems far to eager to find a reason to be displeased with Baghdad despite his daughter’s happiness with Sinbad. But then he straight up threatens the Caliph of Baghdad with war after finding his daughter shrunk by Sokurah. Fully blaming them for Parisa’s predicament instead of the mysterious sorcerer who he himself saw perform his dark arts the night before.

It doesn't help that Rachel and Maddie are black and Tom is white, suggesting that the former may possibly be racist. She is so obnoxious that she had to be tied up to a chair and left behind in the Wachowskis' home, so that Tom and Maddie can help Sonic.
