* In the world of Franchise/TheWitcher, Geralt is this to the various things that go bump in the night. It's best encapsulated in the song used in the trailer "A Night to Remember" for VideoGame/TheWitcher3WildHunt. It's essentially an IronicNurseryTune sung by monstrous parents to their children about the big bad Witcher.

* The BigBad of VideoGame/DeadByDaylight is an EldritchAbomination known as the Entity, which feels on terror and suffering and can entrap people in an eternity of being chased, killed, and brought back. It draws killers and madmen into its realm to serve as hunters of the innocents it ensnares. Michael Myers is implied to scare the shit out of the Entity, such that it lets him hunt in its realm to keep him appeased instead of giving him orders.
** There's also Pinhead, who is in a league of his own and joined the Entity's game for his own purposes. The entity also has to keep him appeased - or suffer the wrath of a being who can summon half of Hell to the Entity's doorstep.

For example, you can do this when you meet Vulpes Inculta, the leader of the Legion's frumentarii, an EvilGenius spymaster who commits atrocities like the massacre of Nipton. If you confront him in the aftermath...

* Dragons in VideoGame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim are winged beasts of death and fire whose very speech is volatile magic and who cannot truly die like mortals can. As such, concepts such as "mortal", "temporary", and "finite" are quite alien to them. Then the Dovahkiin--the protagonist, who can absorb and consume a dragon's soul, thus destroying them forever--shows up. The first dragon you fight (not the one at the beginning) will actually cry out in terror when he's about to die and realizes what EldritchAbomination has arrived to end his existence: "Dovahkiin? No!!" For bonus points: the theme that sometimes plays when a dragon attacks is called "The One They Fear". No guesses who "they" are in this context.
** Even better, the Dragonborn can weaponize this weakness with the "Dragonrend" shout, composed of the words Joor, Zah, and Frul, meaning "mortal", "temporary", and "finite", respectively. Mechanically, all it really does is force a dragon to land, robbing it of its mobility and making it much easier to hit. The in-story reason for this is that the Shout forces the dragon to understand the concept of mortality, so incomprehensible to the immortal mind that they become too disoriented to fly.
** To drive home how unnatural and horrifying being targeted by Dragonrend is for a dragon, in the vision you learn it from it Alduin, the incarnation of the Apocalypse, reacts with utter disbelief when the three ancient Dragonborn hit him with the shout:

* A humorous example in VideoGame/MortalKombat1; Reptile/Syzoth is a very capable fighter whose true form is that of a hulking, acid-spitting lizard monster. He can swallow people whole, tear them apart with his sheer strength or just inflict horrible injuries with his acid breath, to say nothing of the fact that he can turn invisible to catch his prey off-guard. He's one of the good guys, though, and quite Adorkable at that. So why does he qualify for this trope ? Because after witnessing his ability to turn invisible, Johnny Cage compared him to the Predator and, after the events of the main story, invited Syzoth to his place for a movie night to show him said movie. It scared Syzoth shitless.
