** Oh, c'mon, Gaston and Lefou (the short sidekick who thinks he's so great), all the way! This troper worked on a school production where, at one point, Gaston picks him up and carries him bridal-style.

* ''{{Hook}}'': [[{{Lurkerbunny}} This troper]] read that Dustin Hoffman and Bob Hoskins were playing Captain Hook and Smee like a gay couple. It shows.

** When Draco 'gatecrashes' the Slug Club party in HBP, Snape says he'll escort him out. The look Draco gives him is rather reminiscent to this Troper of a princess with her disapproved of suitor. Not to mention how 'I swore to protect you' afterwards sounded...

** After a very 'special' run of a ''Jungle Book'' adaptation, [[DesignatedNPC This Troper]] began seriously shipping Bagheera and Shere Khan. Ooh, the FoeYay in ''spades'', and the ''taunting'' and Bagheera being all [[TheStoic stoic]]... Plus they had a fight-scene, and Shere Khan only half-mockingly reminiscing about [[InLoveWithYourCarnage what a terror Bagheera used to be]]. Honestly, it came off like they'd just gotten out of a ''really'' bad breakup. And to top it off? Shere Khan had an inexplicable ([[CompellingVoice yet totally hot]]) Southern accent, and Bagheera had a growly voice ''a la'' [[BeastWars Dinobot]]. It was disturbing, yet...

** Wait, there's a way to watch that movie and ''not'' see that? The only fans of that film that this troper knows of were a). in it for the teenage psychos and ho yay, or b). in it for the Leopold and Loeb references and ho yay. High points include Richard's jealous bedroom freak-out and the way our Charming Antagonists seem far too comfortable in each other's personal space. The whole business with Lisa just looks like Richie's seriously, seriously compensating-- he's such an over-the-top cad, if only to compensate for his metrosexual fashion sense. But wow-- talk about SlapSlapKiss.

** Does this even ''count''? Chase [[spoiler:kisses Caleb during the fight scene in Sarah's room]]. This troper read this as making the villain gay or bisexual in an attempt to induce hate (or lust, depending how well they knew their audience). At some point it has to stop being HoYay and become canon. (Besides, Caleb and Pogue were totally hooking up all over the place. And possibly/probably the other boys, too. The movie producers did make the serious artistic decision to have them be swimmers so they could all be wet and mostly naked together.)

** Not to mention the main characters. This troper had to keep reminding that the brother was the primary love interest.

* In a early, lesser-known (but very suspenseful) AlfredHitchcock film called ''The Lady Vanishes'' a bunch of people are staying together at an inn in central Europe. There's a pair of middle-aged English gentlemen who seem to be very close friends; the hotel is overbooked, so the two men end up sleeping in the maid's room. At one point, when the maid storms in and starts to change, they look away without any interest whatsoever. Later, we see them sitting in bed--one [[ShirtlessScene isn't wearing a shirt]] and the other isn't wearing pants! They may just be HeterosexualLifePartners, but this troper's entire family, including my somewhat socially conservative parents, were convinced that they were gay.

* Really? No mention of the TheFoxAndTheHound? Really? The entire story played like a tragic Childhood Romeo/Juliet plot! * Definitely something going on between characters Freddy Newendyke, "Mr. Orange," and Larry Dimick, "Mr. White," in QuentinTarantino's 1990 film ''ReservoirDogs''. It is actually impossible to to cite specific examples; the entire movie is one colossal homoerotic overtone. The important [read: gay] bits are intact, though. Note: the scenes in te "INT. OFFICE" weren't actually filmed, so it isn't official canon. Still gay though, definitely. [Aw. It leaves out the bit at the ending with White's hysterical crying. Damn.] NOT TO MENTION the whole weird Nice Guy Eddie calling his father "Daddy" in front of everybody, at almost every opportunity to do so. Also, without spoiling anything, there is undeniable subtext between Nice Guy Eddie and 'Toothpick' Vic Vega, from bro-hugs, cheek kisses and an all out throw-down on the floor of Daddy's office. Don't forget the "You'd keep me for yourself," line Eddie throws Vic's way, and the ever-classic "Did you see that, Daddy? Guy got me on the floor, tried to fuck me!")
** Don't forget Mr. Orange having a fake wedding ring he puts on as part of his 'cool, macho dude' costume.
*** Also gotta include Orange's wince while the guys discuss the pain of being fucked by a big dick in the beginning scene.
* Tyler Durden and the protagonist in ''FightClub''. I mean, it turns out that [[spoiler:[[SplitPersonality they're the same person]],]] but that doesn't reduce all the HoYay.

* ''BendItLikeBeckham''. I'm not sure if there '''are''' even any het or gen fics in that fandom, just the Les Yay.

* I am I seriously the only one here who didn't notice the ''looks'' from Agent Simmons' balding sidekick in the 2007 ''Film/{{Transformers}}'' movie, not to mention the childish repetition of Simmons' declarations? MichaelBay [[WordOfGod even said]] in the director's commentary JohnTurturro (Simmons' actor) improvised stuff about questioning his sexuality.
** The Sam/Bumblebee stuff. I know, 'Bee is technically genderless, but the Transformers are all assigned gender-specific pronouns, probably as a humanizing gesture. Also: "I'm not gonna leave you!"

** Really, you could pick any two guys from that and have justification for some of this. Joker/anybody and everybody is obvious, from him telling Batman "You complete me" to dressing up as a nurse and almost seducing Dent (to the side of chaos, yes, but it's still seduction dammit!), but there's obvious Batsy/Dent, Batboy/Gordon and Cricket Bat/Alfred going on, father figure my pasty British ass.
** Oh, and I almost forgot- Joker/Harvey. Hell yes.

*** And this movie also had ''[[MaggieGyllenhaal Maggie]]'' [[MaggieGyllenhaal Gyllenhaal]]. Which prompted many a round of giggles from certain fangirls.
**** And lest we forget: HeathLedger played the Joker.
***** So with Ledger as TheJoker and the Gyllenhaals as Bruce and Rachel, I count HoYay, FoeYay, BrotherSisterIncest via a CastingGag...

** Hell yeah. I mean, the narrator would ''bathe'' in front of him!

** This is especially interesting because the author of the book upon which the movie was based is himself gay, but FightClub the book doesn't have anywhere near the HoYay as the movie.
** What, apart from when he talks about how he's in love with Tyler?

** I read somewhere that it was originally written as a love story between the two girls. Wish they'd left it that way!

*** This troper (a ''KingdomHearts'' fan) once had a friend try to disgust her with pairings, and he came up with Pete/Genie. The reasoning? Just go watch the scene where Genie mistakes Pete for Aladdin. Brainscarred yet?

** My favorite part from HBP is when Harry and Ron are awkwardly discussing their love interests and their 'skin'. Ron seems mystified as to why the cute black guy would want his sister (and not in a protective older brother way, either), while Harry lies in bed staring at his magical map, watching Draco Malfoy.

** Not just strongly hints - the movie pretty much makes Charlie Prince canonically gay for his Boss (or just plain gay, for that matter - I mean, "Charlie Princess"?). It's made especially obvious from the annoyed look he gave to the girl Ben Wade was picking up, his emotional "I'll wait for you," and the betrayed look of shock he made when he saw that Ben decided to go along with Dan and jump off the roof.
*** Not to mention the fact that Wade mentions his love for green eyes a handful of times in the beginning of the film. Charlie Prince (and Ben Foster) has the prettiest pair of green eyes...

* ''RevengeOfTheSith'' skirted the edge of both HoYay and FoeYay with Anakin and Obi-Wan; Senator Palpatine also showed somewhat disturbing levels of interest in young Anakin since he was nine years old (yeah, yeah, Dark Side potential, but many fans including This Troper felt like Palpy was being played as if he were a pedophile, as if he weren't evil enough).
** This troper definitely got the impression that, right from ''The Phantom Menace'', Palpatine's interest in Anakin had a distinct paedo-vibe to it. A thousand-times ick.

* [[TheJungleBook Baloo and Bagheera]]. There's the whole scolding-mother carefree-father thing being played, the long and emotional eulogy Bagheera gives Baloo when the bear [[DisneyDeath "dies"]] to protect Mowgli, and come on. Baggy outright asks the guy if he would marry a panther! ...what? Stop giving me that look!
** And the ending was pretty gay , even with Mowgli going to the village to chase a girl. Baloo states girls are nothing but trouble, and he and Bagheera go strolling back into the jungle (''with their arms around each other'') singing the last song. So no, you're not weird for picking up on the implications behind their relationship. ThisTroper actually shipped them as a young kid (before she understood the concept of homosexuality) because their dynamic reminded her of her mom and dad.

** The above examples are from the 2005 remake of the movie. While the original doesn't have a pseudo-love song, it's pretty full of HoYay, depending on how you interpret certain scenes.

Yes, Octavius has a certain fascination with Jedediah because, of course, he wouldn't meet people as irreverent as that in the world of the Roman Empire, I think people were a bit more formal in their behaviour, so that slightly gauche, throwaway attitude that goes with being a cowboy fascinates Octavius, and he finds it quite alluring" - Steve Coogan (The guy who plays Octavius)

* This troper cannot be the only one who noticed some really disturbing ho yay in ''[=~28 Days Later~=]''. Pretty tame ho yay vibes with West, but there's a scene in question where one of the soldiers (the name of whom is escaping me) is gloating over what he's going to do to Selena -- and it very, very creepily feels like he's also threatening Jim.

* This troper can't be the only one who thought that the Rorschach/Nite Owl bromance in the ''{{Watchmen}}'' film was given more emotional weight than the het romance, right? I mean, I know this is Rorschach I'm talking about, but... still.
** Also, absolutely any moment featuring Adrian Veidt. They ''totally'' played up that "possibly homosexual" thing.

You can't have your main antagonists be basically Leopold and Loeb [[InSpace ONLY BADASS AND TOTALLY SOCIOPATHIC!]](tm) and not have there be glimpses of unfortunate-yay. (It helps that... dude, it's got Michael Pitt. And whoever wrote the page brief for the film, the fact that there's no better name for one of the characters than basically "the dominant one" is very revealing.)
** What do you mean, "Leopold and Loeb, ''only'' sociopathic"? The real guys killed a little kid just to see if they could. You don't get more sociopathic than that.
*** Perhaps "sadistic" might make things clearer.
* I'm sure ''{{Twilight}}'' is already covered under the literature section, but Edward's flashback to Carlisle [[EmergencyTransformation turning him into a vampire]] has Edward making an honest-to-god orgasm face.

* Nobody has mentioned Frodo and Sam from ''{{The Lord of the Rings}}'' yet? The third film was practically nothing but this whenever the two of them were on screen.

* Some people have said they see HoYay between Alex and Marty in ''{{Madagascar}}''. This troper ''can'' see it, but it's eclipsed by the sheer FlamboyantGay behaviour of King Julien, including a scene where everyone's dancing and he leaps into Maurice's arms. In RealLife, lemur troops are led by a female; this troper figures it's not a case of You Fail Zoology Forever because [[IncrediblyLamePun Julien is enough of a queen]].

* ThisTroper felt that ShowerScene in {{Sixteen Candles}} was full of LesYay. Even though Samantha and her friend are discussing Carolyn's relationship with Jake Ryan, the boy Samantha is in love with, Carolyn has ''no idea'' that the two are watching her, and the expression on Samantha's face just screams she wants Carolyn instead.
* Nobody else noticed the HoYay in the third ''JurassicPark'' film between Alan and Billy? Seriously? ''No one?''
** That would entail ''[[DisContinuity watching]]'' [[SoBadItsHorrible Jurassic Park III]].

So you took your [[HoYay scraps]] where you could find them. In a sufficiently barren environment, ''Lord of the Flies'' was (at least, in certain aspects) compelling.

** How anyone would include ''[[ANightmareOnElmStreet A Nightmare On Elm Street 2]]'' on a list of '''unintentionally''' gay horror movies is beyond this troper. * Upon re-viewing ''CasinoRoyale'', this troper just remembered why she ships Kratt/Le Chiffre. (Kratt's his henchman, the [[BaldOfEvil bald one]]. Mostly on the entirely overscrutinised basis of the occasional look, Kratt's status as henchman... henchperson... and the fact that if Bond gets to have someone good looking come over and kiss him on the cheek, she was actively expecting that to be Le Chiffre's own (slightly disturbing) response when Kratt walked up behind him at the table. Way to distract an entire table of poker players, Mads. That, and Le Chiffre's girlfriend sucks. And really, he doesn't care much about her either, judging by his lack of alarm at her impending dehanditation.
** ''QuantomOfSolace'', meanwhile, has Bond/Mathis. I ''cannot'' be the only person who realized the scene where [[spoiler:Mathis dies]] is more or less ''completely identical'' to a similar scene between [[DoctorWho the Doctor and the Master]], who have their own [[HoYay/LiveActionTV extensive Ho Yay entry]].

** This troper is glad to see she wasn't imagining the ridiculous amount of LesYay in this movie. What about the very typical of romance movies 'sad break up' music interlude where they're both sad and broken up without the other?
** Thirded, I just finished watching this, and the LesYay is pretty amazing. Not only is there 'sad break up' music, but there are several montages of the two girls together and a couple of fervent embraces complete with a moment that felt like an almost kiss in one of them.

*** He basically calls Anthony a slut.
*** Uh, yeah. He's equal opportunity, and perving on Anthony, hard. When he says 'everything you've ever dreamed of doing with a woman' it apparently goes right over his head that out of the four he's named, only three are actually women.
** Never mind the expression on the Beadle's face as he throws Anthony into the street. "Next time, it'll be your pretty little brains all over the pavement." And the way he wields his cane...
*** Plus, near the end, Sweeney totally flirts Beadle into that chair.
*** I'm relieved someone else saw that! I mentioned it to my mates after we saw it and they nearly spewed across the table! The way the Beadle reacts makes it clear he thinks he's in for a bit of barbershop boinking.

*** I always saw that more of him getting off to seeing Lucy violated.
* This troper's filthy mind made the fairly entertaining film ''DeadAgain'' miles more enjoyable. For one thing, it deals with themes of past lives, including one scenario where [[spoiler: the hero and heroine of the film are revealed to have been married in a past life as well- with the genders reversed, making the DoggedNiceGuy the damsel in distress. When he tried to tell this to one of his friends, he looked so embarrassed I expected one of them to ask 'so... does that make me gay?']] There's also ne scene in the very beginning where a supposed big secret that could solve the central murder case [[spoiler: turns out just to be the one guy acting like he's whispering something but instead kissing and evidently LICKING the other guy's ear before leaving death row to be executed.]] Probably intentional, but... why no fic for it?

*** Oh, you mean [[TroperTales/FanNickname Jean-Baptiste]]? That scene was so unbelievably ho yay-ridden. (Just to add to the TomCruise and BradPitt gayfest, it's probably pretty damn intentional that Lestat and Louis' vampires-playing-house routine mirrors a really bad marriage, right down to the "[[TheBabyTrap if we have a kid together, he'll never be able to leave me!"]] deal.

* I always thought that Tiffany and Kirsty in {{Hellraiser}} seemed to be a [[HoYay bit more then friends]].

** And in Transformers: Revange of the Fallen there is so much Ho Yay going on between Agent Simmons and Sam's friend, Leo, that this troper thinks they had more chemistry (or at least the same amount) as Sam and Mikaela.

* Blatantly portrayed in ''Infamous'', with a twisted relationship complete with steamy kiss between Truman Capote (Toby Jones) and Perry Smith (DanielCraig. Yes, JamesBond). More subtle in the ''other'' Truman Capote biopic, ''{{Capote}}'', but still present. Capote's real-life relationship with Perry Smith, one of two murderers he interviewed and corresponded with for five years while writing ''In Cold Blood'' has been the subject of much speculation for decades. Some of Capote's friends alleged that he'd been in love with Smith, and their letters to one another definitely come across as romantic. We do know that Capote bribed guards to allow him and Smith to be in a cell alone together, that Capote was unable to watch Smith hanged, and that Smith left him all his belongings after his death.
** How is this HoYay? Capote was a confirmed homosexual.
*** Yeah, but not with Perry Smith.

** [[MayDecemberRomance 5 and 2 are boyfriends.]] I don't think you can even call it subtext, it's just right there.

**** It helps too that the movie, at least in this troper's eyes, made a special point of shoulder touching among the cast, but only 5 and 2 (and 9 and 7, being the het. couple) touched hands (or at least had focal scenes on the hand touching; I could have missed something).
** While we're on the topic, it bears mentioning that 5 and 9 got ''really'' close, ''really'' fast.
*** 5 ''never. Stops. Touching him.''
*** This troper is a 5 x 2 shipper, but BY GOD many drinks were had during the 9 drinking game with these two. I think I giggled a bit when they were hiding from the Cat Beast and ''5 was clinging oh-so-manly-ish to 9.''
** Also, putting this out there: 1 and 8?

**** I guess with the whole [[StalkerWithACrush Bully with a Crush]] thing [[BigGuy 8]] could have for [[MadOracle 6]], and [[ObliviousToLove 6]] just ''not getting it''? I've never really understood the roots of this particular ship, but that's what I always thought of it as.

** As a fan of 9x6, I'd like to point out that 9 is the only one who talks to 6, and almost all of 6's lines (aside from saying "Sound!" into a gramophone) were to 9. If that isn't something to show a possible relationship (friendship or otherwise), I don't know what is.

* ''Ghost'', Les Yay. At the end, it's really [[spoiler:Oda Mae that Molly is kissing]], though the audience sees [[spoiler:the ghost of Sam]]. The audience I saw this movie with were seriously squicked by this scene until [[spoiler:Sam's face was shown]].

* HOW have we gone this far without mentioning OceansEleven?! ThisTroper kept waiting for Rusty and Danny to make-out, they were so HoYay-licious. The Oprah-watching scene in the third movie, oh my lord ...

* This troper found himself waiting for Naomi Watts and Laura Harring to start making out in ''MulhollandDrive''. [[spoiler: He got his wish.]]

* How about ''Pee-Wee's Big Adventure'' for some examples of this in a kids' movie? The character of Mickey (who, let's not forget, is an ex-con and so has spent an AWFUL LOT of time in an all-male environment) rather pointedly tells Pee-Wee, "I like you, kid. I like you a LOT." I also have to wonder about the bikers in the bar when they gleefully threaten to tattoo Pee-Wee's body before they kill him.

* Nowhere Boy- the film about the childhood and teenage experiences of John Lennon- has this between John and Paul in spades.
** 'course, John and Paul always had it, everywhere.

* Heather Graham has done two movies in which she makes out with a hot brunette. The first is in the comedy ''GrayMatters''(2006) where she shares a [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qchq8c94f5U loooong kiss with her future sister in law played by the lovely Bridget Moynahan]]. The next year in the more dramatic ''{{Broken}}'' [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-dhLz7Xpy8 Heather plays tonsil hockey with gorgeous Jessica Stroup]](Silver from the [[http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BeverlyHills90210 90210)]]
** Let's hope this is a trilogy.

* The film of ''{{Chocolat}}'' lays the LesYay on thick between Josephine and Vianne. Whether this was intentional or merely the effect of Juliette Binoche wandering around is hard to tell.

**Doson also tries to convince Prince Sawara to spend eternity with him, instead of with Sawara's girlfriend. He gets downright hysterical at the idea of the prince leaving. SoYeah... this guy is a big lump of FoeYay and HoYay.

*''GingerSnaps'' has the titular Ginger and her sister Brigitte. SoYeah.

* The two main characters of ''Bride Wars''...soooo much. ESPECIALLY when they were shown together as children. (True story: When ThisTroper initially saw the trailer, he thought it would be a touching story about the struggle of two lesbian girls...a couple scenes later, they're shown with fiancees...SoYeah.)
** Considering the first line of the trailer (paraphrased) is "The story I'm thinking of involves a bride and a bride?" It's hard to read that part as anything else.

* No mention of the StanleyKubrick film {{Film/Spartacus}}? The most explicit is the bath scene between Crassus and his slave, Antoninus, where Crassus 'clearly' attempts to seduce Antoninus, which prompts the poor slave to run away an join Spartacus. Plus, there is lots of Antoninus/Spartacus [[spoiler: before they are forced to fight to the death.]]

** All of "Pretty Women" has an awfully homoerotic vibe, what with the way Sweeney and Turpin are all singing together while Sweeney rubs his hands around Turpin's face, neck, and shoulders. Very strong HoYay vibe, [[HaveIMentionedThatIAmHeterosexualToday despite the subject matter]].
