* During the sequence where Quicksilver [[spoiler:saves everyone from the exploding mansion]], he also saves a dog that was in the middle of eating some pizza (not before having the rest of the pizza for himself, that is). You could say that dog was... quite [[Series/Hawkeye2021 Lucky]].

* In the deleted "Safety Dance" montage, Jean Grey beats Scott pretty good at Joust, because she recognizes Scott's play style pretty quickly. Scott is played by Ty Sheridan who was later cast as Parzival in ''Film/ReadyPlayerOne2018''. In one sequence in the book, Parzival must play a game of Joust against an Ai System. He wins by recognizing patterns in the systems performance.

Deleting instances of mis-use: Hilarious In Hindsight is about LATER events that make situations or dialogue within the movie funnier or more charming than they originally were. It's not about funny events that preceded it, and it's not about actors working in other movies/series that have no connection with this franchise besides trivial coincidences (similar words in the titles, same directors, etc.).

The set photos and the teaser trailer confirm that Storm's hair got shorter once again.
* Creator/SophieTurner being cast in the sequel to a Creator/PeterDinklage movie. [[Series/GameOfThrones Think about it for a second...]]
** Add Creator/{{Maisie|Williams}} [[Film/TheNewMutants Williams]] to that.
* Kodi Smit-[=McPhee=] and Creator/MichaelFassbender starred in the film ''Film/SlowWest'', so that means Nightcrawler and Magneto were once reluctant allies in TheWildWest.
* Creator/JamesMcAvoy plays a naïve, '80s-era, mullet-haired academic who is head-over-heels for a beautiful woman... [[Film/StarterForTen does that sound familiar]]?
* Professor X may actually be the genetic ancestor of the future God Emperor Leto Atreides II in ''Series/ChildrenOfDune'' (also performed by Creator/JamesMcAvoy) because the former's opening narration over a desert scene--which could easily be mistaken for the dunes of Arrakis--includes a reference to prophecy and god worship. Their possible connection is expressed in [[https://i.imgur.com/mlLVspY.jpg this meme.]]
* In ''First Class'', Moira had stripped down to her undergarments to sneak into the Hellfire Club. In this movie, she does a complete 180° and is covered from head to toe in a niqab to infiltrate En Sabah Nur's cult.

* An adolescent Scott steals one of Professor X's vintage cars to drive himself and three of his classmates to the mall, so Logan "borrowing" Cyclops' sports car in ''Film/X2XMenUnited'' without the latter's permission becomes karmic in retrospect.
* Also in ''X2'', Pyro leaves Professor X's side and joins Magneto's (whom John shares a lot more in common with) near the end. * The Phoenix in ''Film/XMenTheLastStand'' had meant to insult Wolverine when she tells him "What, you think [the Professor's] not in your head, too? Look at you, Logan. He's ''tamed'' you." [[spoiler:In ''Film/XMenApocalypse'', Jean "tames" Logan for real by mind-nudging him out of his berserker rage, and then successfully "tames" the Phoenix with Xavier's help.]]
* The fact that the Four Horsemen contain Magneto, Storm and Psylocke, aka one of the strongest teams in ''VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcom2'' hasn't gone unnoticed by many fans.
* While the scene where Scott and Jean's group watch ''Return Of The Jedi'' is a blatant reference to Disney owning both Star Wars and Marvel (but not this film), the scenes with Apocalypse before this have him walking around in a very Palpatine-like hooded robe. Bonus points for the scene where Apocalypse confronts Charles [[MindRape in the mind realm]], as Poe Dameron, played by Creator/OscarIsaac, was on the receiving end of a similar torture in the [[Film/TheForceAwakens latest Star Wars film.]]
* All those jokes about Apocalypse looking like a blueberry - did you know that Creator/OscarIsaac [[Film/SuckerPunch actually played someone called Blue? And that "Sweet Dreams" song was in there too!]]
* Outside of her roles in this franchise and ''Film/TheHungerGames'', Jennifer Lawrence has gotten into the habit of playing characters who are far older than she is - ''Film/SilverLiningsPlaybook'', ''Film/AmericanHustle'' and ''Film/{{Joy}}''. Here she is once again only twenty-five playing a character at least twenty years older. This time however it's fully justified due to her shape-shifting powers.

* Also worth noting is that Tye Sheridan [[Film/ScoutsGuideToTheZombieApocalypse may be stuck in movies with the word Apocalypse in the title.]]

* So a villain from a timeline which averted a BadFuture launch all nukes simultaneously... into space. One wonders if this timeline is about to be erased by [[Franchise/{{Terminator}} a nuke-happy antagonist who likes to tamper with timelines]]... or if it's a fix for that franchise's horrendous reboot which dealt with a TimeyWimeyBall.
* ''Film/TransformersRevengeOfTheFallen'' also revolved around a titular villain with ties to ancient Egypt who was criticized for being a GenericDoomsdayVillain, and both films received substantially less praise than their predecessors.
* After the reveal that ''Series/AmericanHorrorStory'' [[Series/AmericanHorrorStoryApocalypse Season 8]] was called "AHS: Apocalypse", it seems that Evan Peters just can't get a break when it comes to the word, "apocalypse."

* All those jokes about Apocalypse looking like a blueberry - did you know that OscarIsaac [[Film/SuckerPunch actually played someone called Blue? And that "Sweet Dreams" song was in there too!]]
* Outside of her roles in this franchise and ''Film/TheHungerGames'', Jennifer Lawrence has gotten into the habit of playing characters who are far older than she is - ''Film/SilverLiningsPlaybook'', ''Film/AmericanHustle'' and ''Film/{{Joy}}''. Here she is once again only twenty-five playing a character at least twenty years older. This time however it's fully justified due to her shape-shifting powers.
* In the deleted ''Safety Hat'' montage, Jean Grey beats Scott pretty good at Joust, because she recognizes Scott's play style pretty quickly. Scott is played by Ty Sheridan who was later cast as Parzival in ''Film/ReadyPlayerOne''. In one sequence in the book, Parzival must play a game of Joust against an Ai System. He wins by recognizing patterns in the systems performance.
* Also worth noting is that Tye Sheridan [[Film/ScoutsGuideToTheZombieApocalypse may be stuck in movies with the word Apocalypse in the title.]]
* There's a throwaway gag at the third movie in the series always being the worst--[[TakeThat itself referring to]] ''Film/XMenTheLastStand'', but [[DidntThinkThisThrough unintentionally slamming]] ''Apocalypse'' [[SelfDeprecation in the process]].
** More amusingly, the reception to ''Film/{{Logan}}'', the third movie in the ''[[Film/XMenOriginsWolverine Wolverine]]'' [[Film/TheWolverine trilogy]], which is unanimously considered to be the best of the bunch [[SurprisinglyImprovedSequel by a long shot]].
