** The original 1998 game actually had a typo in the sign: "Wellcome" instead of "Welcome." In the remake, this extra l is found in the office on the floor. Clearly, an officer saw the mistake and quickly fixed it, making sure everything was perfect for the new guy.

*** Although this is somewhat heavily undercut when you realise she's still manipulating him into helping her get the G-Virus.

* Ada also gets one in the remake. When they first meet, she treats him more or less like a liability and he seems like a puppy tagging along with her. He then gets shot by Annette and, rather than immediately leave to run after the scientist like in the original, she patches him up immediately and leaves her coat to keep him warm.

* Leon and Claire's rapport. Although it's ([[ShipTease mostly]]) platonic, you can clearly tell that these two enjoy each other's company. In the original game, while they had more chances to interact, the limited graphics engine and dialogue were less effective in conveying their growing friendship, and their unwavering faith in each other's survival came off almost as a lack of concern at points. Here, though? Seeing the smiles on their faces when they reunite makes the struggle to survive much more worth it. Also, unlike the original, Claire has stronger feelings for Leon to the point of outright saying if they’d been a couple the ZombieApocalypse would’ve been a “helluva first date”.

* As Claire's ending shows, what was the first thing Sherry wanted to do, now that they were finally safe? She wanted to see where Claire lived. It goes to show that Sherry already saw Claire as like a big sister if not an adoptive mother, and as mentioned above a file in RE 6 revealed that Claire did take her in.

* A meta example. Upon hearing of Paul Haddad's passing on April 15, 2020, Nick Apostolides [[https://youtu.be/Hr1H7c5CwQk shared an emotional video recording]] where he expressed how much his predecessor meant to him, both as a fan and as a personal friend. An ode from one Leon to another... it's both a tearjerker and a heartwarming sight.

*** Annette cares for Sherry. Her dying regret is not being a better mother for her.

* Leon has the sample of the virus and dares Ada to shoot him. She can't, because she has genuinely grown fond of him. Even though he jeopardized her mission, she tosses him a rocket launcher to help him defeat X.

** After
her mission, apparent death, she tosses him helps ensure Leon's survival by providing a rocket launcher to help take out Mr X; she frames it as 'calling it even', but her care for him defeat X.is obvious given she could have easily just escaped.

* Why does Leon have to solve a puzzle to unlock his desk? The other cops made the puzzle to welcome him, and help him learn their names, with a note explaining it to him jokingly referring to it as his first assignment. There's also a large sign hanging up saying "WELCOME LEON" in the their shared office. It makes it clear that they were really looking forward to having a new guy join them, and really wanted him to fit in.
