** As her epilogue in 3 shows, Leon is forced to ShooTheDog when they're about to be detained by government agents, because at first Claire couldn't bring herself to leave him and Sherry behind.

** Turns into a double layered TearJerker after he subsequently passed away aged 56; the unofficial remake of Resident Evil 2 eventually got retooled into VideoGame/Daymare1998 as detailed elsewhere; Daymare was the last project Paul worked on (as Cleaner) before his death, and you can tell.

* This longplay. Paul Haddad, the original Leon, makes a guest appearance. This is the first time he'd seen the whole game all the way through (not been able to afford a Playstation at the time of release), and all the more HW considering how he's had Throat Cancer and was on the mend, but still found it in himself to make an appearance. And even after all this time and the aforementioned health scare, he'll still do the voice.

* Leon and Claire don't have the same warm rapport here when compared to the remake, but when you think about it, they don't seem all that worried about each other because they don't have to be; each one seems to understand what the other is capable of and knows they're going to make it out just fine. Besides, they really do care, as can be seen when Claire happens upon a wounded Leon in her B scenario.

* Leon and Ada's last moments int the "Leon B" scenario are much more tender and even end with Ada giving him a kiss. Crosses over with TearJerker as he thinks it will be the last time they see each other again.

* Heartwarming/ResidentEvil2Remake

* This longplay. Paul Haddad, the original Leon, makes a guest appearance.
* Really, any quiet scene involving Claire and Sherry. Despite just knowing Sherry, Claire instantly enters MamaBear mode when she realizes Chief Irons is kidnapping her.
-->Claire: "I'LL GET YOU, YOU FUCKER!"
** A subtle one, but when Sherry is threatened by Chief Irons, what does Claire say? That Chris will fucking deal with him if anything happens to Sherry. Claire clearly has a lot of faith in her big brother.
* Villains have their share as well:
** In Hunk's mode, Hunk has to fight his way to the extraction point, but he's running out of time. The pilot Nighthawk refuses to leave him behind. Hunk's response?
-->Hunk: This is war... survival's your responsibility.
** And when Nighthawk returns for him anyway, Hunk demands to know why he didn't leave. Nighthawk's response?
-->Nighthawk: I wanted to meet the Grim Reaper.
** The Birkin family is as corrupt and dysfunctional as ever, and in some ways are worse. This does not stop William, in his monster form, from saving his daughter's life twice before the G-Virus infection blots out what humanity he had left.
*** Annette cares for Sherry. Her dying regret is not being a better mother for her.
* Ada also gets one in the remake. After Leon gets shot by Annette, rather than immediately leave to run after the scientist like in the original, she patches him up immediately and leaves her coat to keep him warm.
** Also when Leon and Ada are on their way to NEST, Leon expresses his concern for her well-being and she gives him a big ShutUpKiss.
* Leon and Claire have more interactions together in the remake. Although it's (mostly) platonic, you can clearly tell that these two enjoy each other's company; in the original game, while they had more chances to interact, the limited graphics engine and dialogue were less effective in conveying their growing friendship. Seeing the smiles on their faces makes the struggle to survive much more worth it.
* The ending shows Leon, Claire, and Sherry walking away while holding hands. Sherry starts hoping Leon and Claire will adopt her, while Leon and Claire play along with her. Funny thing is, the unlockable files in VideoGame/ResidentEvil6 say that Claire sort of did adopt her.
* As Claire's ending shows, what was the first thing Sherry wanted to do, now that they were finally safe? She wanted to see where Claire lived. It goes to show that Sherry already saw Claire as like a big sister if not an adoptive mother, and as mentioned above a file in RE 6 revealed that Claire did take her in.
* Why does Leon have to solve a puzzle to unlock his desk? The other cops made the puzzle to welcome him, and help him learn their names, with a note explaining it to him jokingly referring to it as his first assignment. There's also a large sign hanging up saying "WELCOME LEON" in the their shared office. It makes it clear that they were really looking forward to having a new guy join them, and really wanted him to fit in.

Personally disagree with “indifferent”; Alyson Court’s distinct pronounciation of Leon’s name is still one of the fondest sounding audio samples from a video game. More likely it was the graphics engine and dialogue that made Claire and Leon’s original RE 2 interactions less empathic than they should have been.

*** Annette genuinely cares for Sherry. Her dying regret is not being a better mother for her.

* Leon and Claire have more interactions together in the remake. Although it's (mostly) platonic, you can clearly tell that these two enjoy each other's company, in contrast to how both (but particularly Claire) seemed somewhat indifferent toward each other at times in the original game as they worked to escape the city. Seeing the smiles on their face makes the struggle to survive much more worth it.
