** Partway into the song, we see the champions all get a moment to look awesome with their Pokémon - except two. We only see Alder and Iris' hands as they give each other a high-five, which serves as a heartwarming reminder how Drayden and Alder worked hard with Iris to help her legitimately earn her role as Unova's current champion. Ostensibly, this one gesture serves to communicate Alder PassingTheTorch to his successor with full accolades.

No meta moment.

* Meta example from Bulbapedia: [- "'''Today is Monday February 27, 2012 - Anniversary edition: Welcome to the World of Pokémon -''' In celebration of the anniversary, all Generation I Pokémon species articles will feature their artwork from Red and Green Versions." -] To all of those of us tropers who grew up in TheNineties, the sheer amount of NostalgiaFilter cranks the "heartwarming" part [[TearJerker up several notches.]]

* While the Ono Manga ''The Electric Tale of Pikachu'' has a lot of fanservice, it also has a great epilogue, that shows... well, [[http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/2/23/RocketShipping.png a picture is worth a thousand words.]]
