We learn he hasn't even been allowed to know his own son who's now grown to toddler age; and when they do meet, his mother introduces him to Chick as a salesman. Then, as the crew marches towards the shuttles, the little boy calls out to his mother ... "Mom, that salesman's on TV!" Cue ManlyTears.

* The shots around the world after they're all saved, as well as the entire scene of the crew touching back down.

After having heard of how Truman never got to go into space himself due to his physical health, Harry's simple gesture is a touching farewell to a man he'd grown to respect in their desperate bid to save the planet.
