* Is there an explanation (historical or in-film) for the mine cart ride underneath Alcatraz?

** Even so, you'd think he'd try some kind of public campaign and/or blackmail using the information he had. It might not have worked but it's surely better than going straight from strongly worded letters to terrorism.

* During the raid on the Naval Weapons Depot, a marine blasts a guard out of the tower, crashing to the ground, with a sedative dart. Does that make sense? Everyone else just falls to the ground, but this one guard gets defenestrated?

* Why is Paxton angry when they hear the last missile was launched (the one Goodspeed uses to kill Darrow)? As far as he knows, all the rockets are disabled/fired, with only the payload from the last missile needing disposal.

** That's no guarantee it would have done anything but cause a brief media fuss, the Pentagon made noise about payment but then ignored it. For a real-life example, look at the [[https://www.nytimes.com/2019/06/12/nyregion/jon-stewart-9-11-congress.html slow, agonizing battle]] to get benefits for first responders affected by 9/11.

* Additionally: Why is Goodspeed the only one who is handed an Atropine injector? Even if it is part of the [=SEALs=] regular NBC protection gear at least Mason should get one too.

** Looking over it, it seems that they only refer to it as "the threat" while Mason is in the room. The only thing that he was directly told about was the 81 hostages. On the way to Alcatraz, one of the marines gives Goodspeed the atropine and mentions "the gas". I suppose Mason had realised that he wasn't being told everything, but Goodspeed's revelation that Hummel was poised to ''wipe out'' much of San Francisco must have been more than he suspected.

** This isn't spelled out, but it is explained. When she initially tells him that she is pregnant, his first reaction is cold feet which significantly upsets her. He later gets the call for what he tells her is a boring training mission, and she gets upset again for leaving her in that vulnerable state - so he proposes and offers to fly her out. When he calls back the next day hastily trying to cancel (and not being able to explain why), her thought isn't "This isn't a training exercise", its "This jerk is backing out of his proposal" so she insists on coming and hangs up.

** His primary goal was to get financial compensation for the men who died under his command in those black ops missions, not necessarily to have them exposed to the world. Had he just released the information to the press all that would have done is get him charged with treason for releasing state secrets, and still wouldn't have gotten him the money for his men's families he was seeking.
