more of a meta question than Fridge Logic about the plot

* Why did they change Lilithmon's name into Laylamon, despite the fact that she was already named Lilithmon in other Digimon related stuff like ''VideoGame/DigimonWorldDawnDusk'' and the other Demon Lords while having little changes got to keep their names.
** Also what does the name Layla even mean? It sounds like a normal name with "mon" behind it.
*** Layla is Arabic for 'night', which Lilith has a traditional connection to. It also resembles Leilah which means 'dark beauty' and can also fit Lilithmon. As for the original question...Digimon has these really odd inconsistencies a lot so there probably is no real explanation past maybe the dubbers not wanting children to look up who Lilith is. Although considering that Lucemon got through, it probably is just Digimon dubbing being Digimon dubbing.
*** In angelology, Laylah/Leilah is the angel of the night and sexuality.

* Translations for "Jo" and "Jou" have a variety of meanings, but none of them even come close to the 丈 kanji that's used for Joe's name and reads like "täké". What's the deal?Dimension character came up in part of another translation of "Jo". Does it have something to do with synonyms? For that matter, why is Miyako's name spelled with a "kyo", but still understood to be read as "Miyako", and why is such a distinctive character used for Ken's name? Is it customary to substitute Japanese characters for others that sound different but mean the same thing?

** Early in Anime/DigimonAdventure, Patamon asks T.K. what a GuardianAngel is. Patamon takes a shine to the idea and decides he wants to be T.K.'s; given the nature of the Digital World and of [[BondCreatures Digimon]], it's not an extraordinary stretch.

** Hypothetically, because they're the seven great DEMON lords. They draw not only from theology, but mythos as well. And those names are among the most common in parlance/knowledge.

* Why are almost all the clearly feminine humanoid digimon {{Cute Monster Girl}}s? For instance, Apollomon is furry and its counterpart Dianamon is not. Yeah, more people find human women in costumes attractive than PettingZooPeople, but more variety wouldn't hurt.

** Patamon's power is to become a massive MartyStu and solve the plot whenever necessary, hence Angemon (and his higher forms).
*** He's not exactly a MartyStu when he dies the first time he Digivolves to Angemon. Or how he doesn't kill Piedmon as [=MagnaAngemon=], single-handed.

** Post-Digimon Savers there have been a lot of fanservice/sexual Digimon added. Lilithmon, Sistermon Noir, Mervamon, and especially Beel Starmon. This came with the shift in the audience from kids and competition with Pokemon to teens and young adults and competition with Shin Megami Tensei/Persona.

** It differs per setting. In adventure, the world seems to have a special connection to children and is connected to the real world through some sort of dream dimension, so its probable a lot of the digital world has been shaped by the thoughts of pre-pubescent children. Plus, the final arc of zero two implies that the digital world may have drawn from a specific computer game, which we see Oikawa playing. In tamers, that explanation is canon, with the digimon based on a franchise aimed at children. No clue where the porno-monsters are in Savers though.
