* The show's catchphrase "The Fun is just getting started" is darkly hilarious [[spoiler:as the show gets more and more depressing, it just becomes ridiculously ironic.]]

*** Although by hitting his head on his desk [[spoiler:he accidentally put the Fusion card in his deck which was what he needed to win the duel]].

*** [[spoiler:Which promptly turns into some ''severe'' MoodWhiplash in the [[NightmareFuel next]] [[DarkerAndEdgier episode]].]]

* Episode 36: [[spoiler:Yugo's]] debut which involves him smashing into a street light camera with his [[spoiler:D-Wheel]] and then complaining about it. He then does a double take when he notices Yuto a few feet away.
* Episode 37: Any moment where [[spoiler:Yugo gets offended by being called a Pawn of Fusion.]]

** Dennis trying to keep his cool while his deck is giving him very bad cards against Serena but flat out [[ColorFailure color fails]] when he draws a [[spoiler:Polymerization]] and has no other option than to play it safe.

** The audience is irritated the only duel being shown is Michio's duel versus Halil and Olga. Except for Michio's fangirls. It then appears that Yuya's mother is upset they aren't showing her son. Only to reveal that she wanted to see more of [[spoiler:Dennis]].
** Mieru stomping Gongenzaka's face with her foot while trying to reach Yuya in the middle of the whirlwind made by [[spoiler:Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon's summon.]]
** When Mieru, Gongenzaka, Michio and Teppei hold down [[spoiler:Berserker Yuya, Yuya bites Teppei's hand and gives him an uppercut.]]

** A more meta example: While the LDS students are fighting the [[spoiler:Obelisk Force]], you can see that one of the students somehow summoned [[http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Perfectly_Ultimate_Great_Moth Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth]]. Let that sink in for a moment. ((You could argue that he may have used [[http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/A_Wild_Monster_Appears! A Wild Monster Appears!]] to summon it with no effort whatsoever, but that shuffles it back into the Deck during the End Phase. Considering how many monsters the Obelisk Force had later, and how the Moth was still present, it seems more plausible that the student somehow summoned Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth the legit way.)
** [[spoiler:When Yuzu and Serena decide to meet Kurosaki, Yuzu suggests that Serena switch clothes so the Academia doesn't find them. She quickly is about to take off her jacket in front of Yuzu and Tsukikage. Yuzu takes them to hide so Tsukikage doesn't peek.]]
** [[spoiler:Yugo arrives and it appears his RunningGag will be people getting his name wrong or mistake him for someone else.]]
*** [[spoiler:Not long afterwards, he [[IdiotBall knocks Takeda and Umesugi out and then wonders why they're not answering him]].]]

** Halil and Olga's bobsleigh crash. Unfortunately, MoodWhiplash kicks in when [[spoiler:Yuri seals them into cards]].

** We have [[spoiler:Sawatari's glorious return. He does the same thing as Dennis, saving Tsukikage's life at the price of 2000 life points.]]
*** Let's not forget that [[{{Troll}} Reiji]], [[spoiler:apparently filled him in about everything, ''except'' that particular detail about the life points penalty]].

** Sawatari's "Oh Yes" after [[spoiler:they beat the Obelisk Force.]]

** Poor Yuzu's reaction to [[spoiler:riding on Yugo's D-Wheel. She nearly started crying due to how reckless he is.]]
** Yuya and [[spoiler:Serena, Sawatari and Reira arrive at the Synchro Dimension surrounded by Security where they try to catch them due to Yugo and Yuzu's Riding Duel. Yuya is attempting to reason what's going on when Sawatari being [[SmallNameBigEgo Sawatari]] picks a fight that [[BloodKnight Serena]] joins, leaving Yuya speechless.]]

** Sawatari being the SmallNameBigEgo that he is [[spoiler:says the he "let himself suffer an OTK" to teach Yuya how to beat them. Or that he says when Security surrounds them, he says how lucky that he already lost already, or he would beat them all.]]

** Nearly every moment of Gongenzaka and Dennis's interaction from Gongenzaka's completely deadpan "Ladies and Gentlemen" compared to Dennis being [[{{Keet}} his usual hyperactive self.]] Or Dennis initially [[spoiler:playing up Gongenzaka as the villain during the duel.]] Gong isn't amused.
** Yugo trying to warp dimensions with his Clear Wing only [[spoiler:for him to stand there awkwardly as the card doesn't do anything.]] [[RunningGag Yuzu isn't amused.]]
** [[spoiler:"I use the ''villainous'' Pendulum Summon!" Cue the 'PENDULUM' readout appearing in sinister purple flames.]]

** Discover Hippo was hilarious this episode, particularly when [[spoiler:he was expecting Yuya to send him to the ship that Sawatari's card created and give him a cool armor. Hippo was even stretching and jumping before he realized Yuya didn't send him, which makes him cry in anger and disappointment as a result!]]
** After Kurosaki escapes [[spoiler:solidarity confinement]], he beats up every officer in the way, much to Gongenzaka's amazement; then, when an officer wakes up, Gongenzaka promptly knocks him out with his sandal (which is 100% metal!).

** While Tokumatsu's lackies are [[spoiler:throwing out all the rare cards he collected over the years]], we get a shot of Sawatari picking some of them up. Yuya's reaction is priceless as well.

** Sawatari being annoyed at it being Gongenzaka's turn to duel and not his and later at [[spoiler:Gongenzaka showing Pendulum Synchro.]]

** A quick shot of the Lancers reacting to [[spoiler:Yuzu's reappearance]] is spoiled by Sawatari complaining about how he didn't get to duel yet.
** The start of the Riding Duel, when [[spoiler:both Tokumatsu and Yuzu have no idea how to ride a D-Wheel and freak out.]] Once again, even the [[http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/yugioh/images/d/d1/Yuzu_VS_Chojiro.png versus splash]] is [[OhCrap hilarious.]]

** Despite the rather serious and somewhat disturbing tone of this episode, it did have one, [[{{Narm}} possibly unintentional]] funny moment to it. When Kurosaki manages to save himself with Raidraptor - Last Strix, Dennis responds by [[spoiler:having Ancient Gear Chaos Giant]] attack it, since it can attack all opposing monsters each battle phase. How does it do this? [[FingerPokeOfDoom By literally poking it]].

** A borderline {{Narm}}ing example, but [[spoiler:Yugo and Yuri going berserk in public, yelling and playing cards against nobody has this kind of effect to the viewers]]. Notably, you can see a few passengers when Yugo stops in the middle of the streets, which means they can actually see and hear him.

* Episode 92: In an otherwise dark episode, Yuya plays a spell card that can destroy one of Sergey's cards, while he has a trap that can negate it. He assumes that Yuya will use it on one of his [[spoiler:Earthbound]] monsters. Yuya using it on his Field Spell causes Sergey to error out for a few seconds and miss the timing on his Trap Card.

* Episode 94: The reactions of Sergey and Roget as the duel between Jack and Sergey comes to its conclusion: Sergey, as always, starts screaming how "beautiful" Jack's style of dueling is and turns up his hamminess UpToEleven. On the other hand, Roget starts flipping his s%#t when he can no longer control his top pawn and Sergey ends up [[spoiler:losing]]. While also a very satisfying VillainousBreakdown, it becomes hilarious due to Roget's voice reaching a high pitch, making him sound more foolish than threatening.

** After the duel is over, Yuya calls Jack King, [[spoiler:only for him to scream he's not the king anymore with the tried and true JACK ATLAS brand of ham, freaking out Yuya!]] Especially since he immediately moves on to a normal indoor voice.

** Despite being SmugSuper [[ArrogantKungFuGuy Arrogant Kung-Fu Girls]], [[spoiler:the Tyler Sisters end up being bewildered by Yuya's Entertainment Dueling after losing to him and Kurosaki. Made even funnier when Grace is screaming "[[ThisCannotBe No way~!]]" in the giddiest manner]], or "Amazing~!" in the dub.

** When [[spoiler:Yuya wins the Duel]], Grace celebrates [[TheGlomp with a glomp on her sister]]. Gloria is clearly not sure what exactly to make of this.

** When dueling Captain Solo, who has a lockdown that prevents you from summoning or setting from the hand, [[spoiler:Sora]] chooses to condescendingly explain Fusion to Sawatari like [[Series/TheOfficeUS he's five]], and even lampshades how Sawatari forgot he was a Fusion user.
** [[spoiler:Tsukikage]] chooses the funniest method possible of sabotaging Captain Solo's ship. Put a hole in it? Destroy the sails? [[spoiler:Nope. He takes the screw holding the steering wheel on, leaving poor Solo to sail in a circle.]]

** After Yugo was pushed out of the window [[spoiler:by Rin]], he landed on his ''D-Wheel''. That must've really hurt.

** Sawatari's hair-raising [[spoiler:survival turns out to be worth a chuckle. He quite literally fell of the edge of the stage, which was why he screamed. Later while climbing back up, he sees Crow and thinks that he's the Battle Beast, so he shoots his head back down before peeking back up. Later, he gets interrupted by the Battle Beast taking the intrusion penalty and starts yelling at him despite the fact that he can't see him.]]

** It turns out Yuri is unfamiliar with [[spoiler:his new Antique Gear deck, so he actually has to take some time to read the card effects. This totally catches Asuka off guard. [[note]]He was pretending but still.[[/note]]]]

** Yuri and Yugo meet again and it's just as hilarious from [[spoiler:Yuri pretending he doesn't remember Yugo to purposely getting his name wrong.]]

** In the middle of a tense moment when [[spoiler: Leo sets his Pendulum Scales]], Reiji of all people shouts a BigWhat. It's completely unexpected from [[TheChessmaster him]] and gets a laugh despite the situation.

** Though not too funny an episode, once [[spoiler:Edo finally knocks Yugo back to his senses, the predictable happens]]:

** Yuri is hilarious this episode being completely non blase when Yugo attacks his Greedy Venom Fusion Dragon. And when [[spoiler:looking annoyed when Yugo summoned Speedroid 5 6 Plane to weaken Greedy Venom and then negated the effect.]]

** [[spoiler:When Zarc summons Supreme King Dragon Zarc, we see each of the dragons and their owners being swallowed by darkness. While the rest of the dragon boys look mad, Yuri looks more annoyed than anything else.]]
** Sora and Edo Phoenix's interactions before [[spoiler:before they begin their duel against Z-Arc.]]

** There's a bit of unintentional DarkHumor when [[spoiler:Zarc said "What happened, is no one trying to defeat me? Somebody duel me!" while effectively blasting buildings and people who may challenge him. This scene is made more hilarious when you remember Yugo did a similar thing in episode 46 when he knocked Takeda and Umesugi out and then wondered why they weren't answering him]].

** Not really meant to be funny and more unintentional than anything else but [[spoiler:JACK ATLAS' reaction to Zarc seems more indifferent than anything else. Everyone who knows Yuya and has seen Zarc so far has had a surprised or shocked reaction while JACK ATLAS just nonchalantly assumes Yuya and Zarc than immediately tells him if even a piece of Yuya is still inside of him, he's going to kick his butt and save him]]

** Everyone's disbelieveing expressions when it looks like [[spoiler: Sawatari is about to destroy Supreme King Zarc with his Abyss King locking Zarc's spell negating effect, especially Edo and Sora. Granted it didn't do much but to think that ''Sawatari'' came closest to defeating Zarc after Reiji and Rey is hilarious if you think at it.]]

** Upon Yuya arriving at the You Show Duel School he gets hit on the head by Yuzu's fan [[spoiler:however he's hit on the head with the fan by Shuzo, rather than Yuzu. The humor comes from Yuya questioning why Shuzo hit him with the fan and where he got it in the first place and Shouzo himself doesn't know where it came from or why did it, his reasoning is because he knows Yuya ''[[RunningGag always]]'' gets hit on the head with the fan.]]

** During the Battle Royale between [[spoiler:Yuya, Sawatari, Gongenzaka, and Tsukikage, everyone begins to remember the Maiami Championship that occurred 100 episodes prior and upon Yoko remembering the competition, rather than remembering her son defeating Sawatari or him '''''brutally''''' defeating Kachidoki in his awakened state she remembers it because Michio competed in it and starts fangirling over him]].
** Also during the Battle Royale when Yuya [[spoiler:recalls Tsukikage dueling Sora, Tsukikage corrects him saying it was his brother '''HIKAGE''' who dueled Sora and Hikage just randomly appears by Tsukikage's side as he mentions his name, than disappear again after Tsukikage finishes rectifying Yuya's mistaken assumption]].

** [[spoiler:After Yuya says he's happy to work with the Four Dimension Dragons, Odd-Eyes roars out of jealously as he was the only one Yuya didn't work with. Causing Yuya to state he would never forget his ace.]]

** In the same ending, we finally get to see what [[TheFaceless Duel Chaser 227]] looks like with his helmet and shades off. [[spoiler:Except the top half of his face is [[TheUnreveal cut off by the edge of the screen]].]]

* In the flashback in Scale 35, [[spoiler: Yuto and Yuri are fighting over who can give the better gift for Yuya's Birthday, with both teasing each other how feminine their presents are.]]
* How does the final battle with [[spoiler: Reiji]] end? Yuya declaring that he will draw his best card and actually getting Odd-Eyes, but he can't summon it so it ends up as a race towards an action card. Yuya's cute expression when he says that [[spoiler: Reiji takes 100 damage to end the duel]] is hilarious.

** One of Yuri's first scene is him hunting Yuzu in the Ice terrain, thus Yuri (was) on Ice.

** Although a very dark episode otherwise, Rin's [[https://66.media.tumblr.com/ccfae14ab3ddbdbcd827d1e38e6c70aa/tumblr_inline_obkvf9ADp81sssnyd_540.jpg face]] in a flashback over her excitement to build a D-Wheel has to be seen to be believed.

** For whatever reason, one of the fansubbers decided to have the possessed Ruri sarcastically mocking Kurosaki's story as "Cool story bro". 1

--> Everyone in unison: "Did he really defeat Zarc?"

* In chapter 7 when Yuto and Yuzu are infiltrating the LEO Corporation, they both wear suits to the building. Yuzu is going on about how she's always wanted to wear a suit while Yuto is having second thoughts about the plan. Yuya then proceeds to tell him that he looks good in a suit, and he admits to himself that stoking Yuto's ego is a good way to pacify him.
* Chapter 9, Yuzu is very disappointed that Yuri's Predator Plant Chimeraffesia was not a hottie, and later Yuri asking Yuya if she'd be okay if he left, considering she likes hotties.

** In one still shot, Yuya, Yuzu and Gongenzaka are at the beach attempting to hit a melon while blindfolded; Yuya misses his swing, Yuzu is nowhere close and Gongenzaka has his bat raised above ''Yuya's'' head, unaware about what's he about to hit. In the next still shot, they're eating the melon but Yuya now has a massive bump on his head looking slightly pissed, Yuzu's looking quite sheepish and sympathetic and Gongenzaka is eating his melon without a care in the world and a giant smile on his face.

* From the first ending "One Step": In one scene, Yuya, Yuzu and Gongenzaka are hitting a melon while blindfolded. In the next, they're eating the melon, and Yuya has a massive bump on his head, while Yuzu's looking quite sheepish.

*** Special mention goes to the fact that because the video footage was gone for a while, after the connections were restaured, the very first thing [[TheStoic Roget]] saw was a close up to the Discover Hippo face, he doesn't [[DullSurprise react]] much but it's still hilarious

** After Yuya summons Performapal Odd-Eyes Minotaur for the third time, after he does his pose he just sighs afterwords.

** When the two of them start racing to collect 5 Action Cards first, Yuya starts his first turn of the race by landing on a piece of circus equipment, causing it to move under his feet and force him to frantically run on it like a treadmill to stay on top and not fall off. This continues for a few turns while Reiji collects enough cards to gain the lead before Yuya is finally able to jump off and continue collecting cards.

* The Pendulum cards were basically a [[AscendedMeme response]] to the legendary line from YuGiOhTheAbridgedSeries.

** Despite being SmugSuper [[ArrogantKungFuGuy Arrogant Kung-Fu Girls]], [[spoiler:the Tyler Sisters end up being bewildered by Yuya's Entertainment Dueling after losing to him and Kurosaki. Made even funnier when Grace is screaming "[[ThisCannotBe No way~!]]" in the giddiest manner.]]

** At the end of the episode when Yugo has finally reached Rin, he goes to hug her with a big dopey smile on his face. Rin knees him in the gut as a result. Then soon afterwords she cries and gives him a huge hug.

** Episode 147:
