* In a way, the Commander's very first appearance can qualify as this. After the prologue describes the defenses and security measures of the black site where he's imprisoned and how much of a danger he was to have warranted such measures, he's immediately introduced sitting on a couch, wearing only his socks and shorts and watching the Super Bowl.
* Patricia's first promotion in Chapter 7 also counts, by virtue of the fact that she had sparred with the Commander just hours earlier without knowing who he was (and delivering a good beating in the process). Her [[OhCrap reaction]] upon learning that she beat up the ''Commander of XCOM'' is priceless.
** And it's clear the Commander found it funny too, as he was smiling when he handed Patricia her specialist papers.
