* During the tour of the territory, Finchlight scolds the apprentices for calling another Clan's scent "yucky", explaining that it's just different. The next scent they come across ''also'' immediately gets called "yucky" by Graypaw before he quickly corrects himself. (Turns out it's fox scent so it's fine to call it that.)

* As the first chapter opens, it appears that Jaypaw, Hollypaw, and Lionpaw are honestly appearing to ambush some attacking [=ShadowClan=] warriors. When they form a technique and finally strike...it turns out they're just playing, as they surprise an unaware Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight as the two enter through the gorse tunnel. Brambleclaw is amused and impressed by their efforts, however Squirrelflight chides them and say they should be genuinely practicing their moves, not making a game out of their warrior training.

Even funnier considering added information from later books, which reveal that not only are Darkstripe and Graypaw half-brothers, but that Darkstripe is actually younger than Spottedleaf, who Graypaw was comparing him to - and is, in fact, one of the youngest warriors in the entire Clan.

* One of the things Bluestar brings up when explaining the nature of Clan life to Rusty is that he hasn't been rendered lazy by a trip to the Cutter yet and is "still a tom". In other words, she's using the prospect of Rusty being able to keep his balls as a selling point for joining [=ThunderClan=].

* ''The Queens Unite'' is a story that details the implantation of the rule as to why kits must be six moons old to be apprenticed. While a very sweet an uplifting story of the power of a mother's love, Daisytail's young son Specklepaw is obviously ''very displeased'' when his mother turns up to his first ever battle to state that most of the apprentices there are barely weaned from the mothers' milk, ducking behind Adderpaw in embarrassment. He's said to look like he's ready to explode from frustration, and given that he's still a kit under six moons, one can ''imagine'' the tantrum he must've thrown by the time he and his mother return to the nursery.

* Nightheart's initial interpretation of a motorcycle is that it's giving the Twoleg a badger ride - a game Clan cats play with kits where they pretend to be a badger, stomping around as the kits cling to their back. The idea of a motorcycle pretending to be a badger is an amusing one.

[[AC:The Ultimate Guide]]
* In the 2023 reprint, Firestar and Graystripe, in [=StarClan=], recount a story from the old days. Graystripe describes how Firestar irritated his Clanmates during a meeting, then invited him hunting, where Firestar fell into the ravine while leaping after a sparrow and was knocked unconscious, so since it's too steep for Firestar to climb out he tries to roll a heavy branch over a log so that Firestar can use it to climb out. Firestar keeps interrupting: that there was no such Clan meeting, ''he'' brought Graystripe hunting to cool him off after Graystripe and Dustpelt got into an argument over Graystripe snoring, he fell after being chased by a fox, his tongue was ''not'' lolling out as he lay unconscious, and that it was ''his'' idea to roll the branch over the log. Thunderstar comes by and sets the record straight: Firestar ''did'' irritate the Clan, Graystripe made it worse, it was a ''squirrel'' that scared Firestar into falling into the ravine, he didn't get knocked unconscious, and they both "spent a lot of time yowling in horror" before Graystripe sees the branch and Firestar suggests using the log to move it. He ends his version by saying "After that, you were both very heroic, I'm sure." They wait until he walks away and mutually agree that Thunderstar's memory must have gotten bad.
