* March 23, 2015: When senator Ted Cruz announced his plans to run for president in 2016, Jon is puzzled by the fact that Cruz rehearsed kissing with his wife for his announcement, until Jason Jones and Samantha Bee inform him they rehearse their kisses, too, demonstrating for him.

* June 15, 2015: Rachel Dolezal, the head of the Spokane, Washington branch of the NAACP, is revealed to actually be a white woman in blackface. Jon tries to discuss the story with TDS's Senior Black Correspondent... Jordan Klepper, who also tries to insist he's black, until Jessica Williams enters to bring order.

* After Stephen ended his 6-month long best friendship with Jimmy Fallon, Anderson Cooper offers his friendship to Stephen, along with a plug for his daytime show, but is rejected with a TooSoon. The ''exact same thing'' happens with Jimmy Fallon on LateNight the next night.

* June 15, 2015: Donald Trump announces he wants to seek the nomination for President in '16. Jon is practically frothing at the mouth, and realizes his show is now on "comedy hospice" thanks to this, knowing he'll have no shortage of material in the last weeks of his show. (It's not enough to get him to keep his promise to not retire if Trump does run, though).

** Upon Obama's win, everyone wonders what they should do, believing they can't mock George W. Bush anymore and not knowing how they can mock Obama, until Stephen reminds them that Bush will still be president for two more months.

This results in Stephen Colbert putting on dark glasses and large earmuffs to try and block out the reality of Obama's election, Rob Riggle's "grieving process" (involving him losing his pants, for some reason known only to himself), and Aasif Mandvi, having previously been in 'Pakistan', bursting in to plead Jon Stewart not to let it end:

* May 30, 2012: Mitt Romney's camp produces an app that comes with the typo, "For a Better ''Amercia''," the best campaign app since [[AngryBirds Angry Pauls]].
