* While Arle is searching for the culprit with Schezo, he suggests he makes someone come to them, since the Dream World makes it easy to get lost. He crouches down to whisper something in Arle's ear, which horrifies and embarrasses her due to what he wants her to say as bait. She then says the following line, loudly and reluctantly, which does the job in drawing in Rulue. The delivery makes it clear she wants to crawl into a hole and disappear from the shame.

* The guy who wrote the details on the English Puyo Tetris website left a couple of tongue-in-cheek jokes:
** In the Challenge page, the Sprint mode description says you "[[Anime/SonicX Gotta go fast]] to get a better time!".
** On the Online page, the Replay section screenshot shows one replay, published by someone under the name of "[[VideoGame/DoctorRobotniksMeanBeanMachine Dr_Mean_Bean]]".
* In its earliest versions, ''Puyo Puyo Tetris'' crashing is annoying. The game crashing ''exactly'' when Tee was telling everyone they were going to crash [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rz88yNokGfY makes for an incredibly hilarious coincidence]].
* When ''Puyo Puyo Tetris 2'' was rated by the Australian Video Game Classifications Board, it was rated PG for "mild sexual innuendo". The [[https://twitter.com/AusVGClass/status/1308239793059278850 comments and quote retweets]] just immediately knew that Schezo would make a return, who has not been seen in any material related to ''Puyo Puyo Tetris 2'' at that point. Just the fact that Schezo's [[ThatCameOutWrong reputation]] is so strong, the ratings board referring to this just led the fandom into a frenzy.
* In ''Puyo Puyo Tetris 2'', Maguro and Ringo engage in some BadBadActing, during which he states that Ringo made his cat fat by making him eat too much rice. The fandom was in a frenzy trying to get information on said cat. Cue Puyo Puyo Official on Twitter posting a picture of a cat[[note]]Said cat actually belonging to the account owner's parents.[[/note]] and begging the fans to stop pestering them for details, which only fueled the fanartists to draw Maguro with the cat. Some fans are still going.

She then makes Arle try to tickle its nose to make it sneeze, which inevitably breaks into a squabble over Witch's selfish stupidity. The bickering wakes the dragon anyway. Panic ensues. The cherry on top of it all is that ''Draco'', who is usually the hot-blooded one, is completely calm and nonchalant about all this.

* Recruiting Schezo in this game is a particularly humorous chain of events. You find him in a treasure chest. Again. Just like Puyo BOX.
* Schezo's Master Quest involves taking down some Wheeloo in the waterways. The problem isn't them being tough foes. It's because he finds them ''too cute to attack''. He starts gushing on how cute the Wheeloo roll around and the Rammits hopping around...which, in turn, makes Donguri Gaeru jealous. Of course, he doesn't leave the frog out and dotes on it too, which garners exasperated but uncalled for creeper proclamations from Arle. He didn't even blunder his words that time!
* Once again, some of the alt voices are rather hilarious. Examples include Sig being perpetually confused, Ringo in a [[TheHyena constant giggling fit]], and Lidelle sounding very grumpy.

Moved Madou Monogatari moments to their own page

For moments from ''VideoGame/MadouMonogatari'', go [[Funny/MadouMonogatari here]].

* ''Madou Monogatari Saturn'' has [[TheGoomba Green Puyo]] as one of the first RandomEncounters. One of its "attacks" involves [[https://youtu.be/QOLlzykxGNE?t=18 summoning three more Green Puyo that drop on top of it in a stack]]. [[TooDumbToLive It promptly dies]], because we all know what happens when four Puyo of similar color touch each other.

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6fIcnriH24 The credits sequence]] for ''Madou Monogatari: Nonsensical Final Exam'' has Arle is cooking curry at home when she discovers she's completely out of Rakkyo[[note]]Pickled Scallions[[/note]], going off on another one of her misadventures with Carbuncle just to find some. None of the usual merchants have any in stock, and a frustrated Arle is racing literally around the world just to get her shopping done, until she finally finds one store with them in stock. Just as she tries to enter, Carbuncle ''swallows the store whole''.

* As dark as ''Madou Monogatari'' can be at times, there's some moments where it breaks into hilarious MoodWhiplash because of how unexpected it is.
** Using [[StupidityInducingAttack Braindumbed]] on any enemy that speaks causes their words to sound incredibly sloshed in the text boxes. For example, Areiado Special turns into "Harehihado Fupehial."
** In the PC-98 version of Episode 2, there's a Dark Dragon that serves as the BeefGate of the first dungeon. Looks big and intimidating, but if you cast Fire on it, Dark Dragon is burned into a cartoonish charred lizard of what it once was, complete with slow-blinking bugged out eyes.
** Between Schezo's appearances in the original release and the Game Gear version, he is "promoted" into RecurringBoss. And by that, we mean he continues to chase Arle and gets his ass handed each time, getting more exhausted with each encounter. Arle is understandably exasperated at his persistence. The penultimate encounter doesn't even immediately initiate a boss fight because he's too damn tired to even engage in combat!
** In the novel ''New Madou Monogatari: Schezo and the Flower of Evil'', Schezo finds himself with his sword swallowed by Carbuncle, not unlike the [=DiscStation=] short "Schezo's Long Day". This doesn't stop him from wielding Carbuncle and casting magic like he normally does, ''and succeeds''.

Also funny is Amitie's expression at the beginning of the scene, it's as if this happens almost every day and Amitie has gotten tired of it.
** [[https://youtu.be/z0A19cM7AzA?t=498 VS Hoho]]. Hoho tells Amitie that she won't pass him unless she beats "this superhero in a heated battle." Amitie then tells him to "Say hello to MagicalGirl Amitie", and proceeds to pelt him with an onslaught of fireballs.

* This game marks the debut of Ringo and [[WildTake her overdramatic shocked sprite]].
* In seeking out Feli, Ringo ends up walking in on her trying to ''kill someone with a VoodooDoll curse''. Ringo's response is to nonchalantly apologize to her, and then promptly gets dragged into a battle for her transgressions. Alternatively, if you have Raffina handle Feli, they come to a mutual understanding and Puyo Battle...through nothing but Raffina's NoblewomansLaugh and Feli's occult screeching. Ringo is understandably baffled at what just happened.
--> '''Ringo:''' What the factor just happened?!
* Ringo encounters Schezo in the middle of the desert, and gets a firsthand experience of his infamous phrase. She calls him a cosplayer and, unsurprisingly, calls him a pervert. That's not the funny part. The funny comes from Schezo's [[{{Beat}} moment of silence]] and late response to being called it.

* In Arle's story, Arle and Schezo confront Rulue who's, unsurprisingly, standing in their way before Dark Prince. For the latter's disgust, Lemres discovers the cave's secret kitchen, and a wedding cake Schezo was preparing, eating it whole. Lemres's reaction to finding the cake is what sells this scene:
--> '''Lemres:''' Cakey… cakey… cakey cakey cakey cakey cakey… [[SanitySlippage CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYY]]!!!

* Schezo's story is basically everyone coming across his cave to annoy him (Ranging from Klug trying to take some crystals to Sig causing a mess to find a bug), then stopping Dark Prince by sheer coincidence.
* Klug's story. In the first match, he finds a potion on the ground and promptly drinks it up, to the dismay of Witch. After that, Klug gets into a drunk-like state and starts annoying everyone, up to and including taking off his clothes in front of Feli (Who, for the first time, is the one that gets freaked out).
* Feli VS Ocean Prince. The latter tells Feli he's trying to find a hiding place to avoid his pursuer, and he manages to find one… [[AccidentalPervert under Feli's skirt]].
* Draco's story involves her attempt to reach the beach and find "an amazing swimsuit" Arle told her about. From that onwards, [[NoSenseOfDirection Draco]] continuously gets lost and hurt along the way, until she reaches the beach... where she finds out that swimsuit belongs to [[{{Squick}} Suketoudara]].
* In the end of the Ocean Prince's story, Otomo hears all his complaints about how boring life is within the castle, and promises to not be so stern towards him from then on. While Otomo's making his promises, you can notice how the Ocean Prince slowly sneaks away from Otomo's sight, before he finishes speaking and Witch tells him the Ocean Prince had already left. [[HereWeGoAgain Otomo resumes his pursuit]].
* Risukuma's story is all about him giving counseling advice to a bunch of random people, all of who either baffle him or test his patience with ridiculous concerns. Some standout cases include…
** Lidelle can't even talk about hers without breaking into a stutter or tears.
** Maguro lamenting about the decline of pen-and-paper tabletop gaming.
** Draco is just hungry, apparently.
** Schezo's constant failures in seizing Arle and her power. Of course, him being him, he words it in a way that makes it sound like he's incompetent with love confessions.

The English version spices up the chanting with ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FB3varb369s&t=1m48s sing-song chanting]]'' even. Once she's back to her senses, Rulue challenges Arle to a Puyo battle anyways. Arle thanks Schezo for his help... [[ButtMonkey by leaving him alone to endure]] [[WallOfBlather Rulue's speech about what she loves of Dark Prince]].

Schezo, at his patience's end, tells her to shut up, which makes her ''furious''. Funnily enough, despite being pissed at each other (a perfect setup for a puyo match), it ends up being a Solo Challenge because Schezo was ''that'' fed up with her.

--> '''Ecolo:''' (flatly) Um...really? Advice from you?
* Chapter 8 is about Ringo throwing a talent show to help out her local shopping district. This leads to some very hilarious acts such as Suketoudara dancing with O (who has no known legs), and a comedy act between Maguro and Tee.
-->'''Maguro:''' Say, Tee, why'd the Tetrimino cross the road? ★\\
'''Tee:''' [[DontExplainTheJoke Most likely due to a tear]] [[ComicallyMissingThePoint in the boundary between two dimensions.]]\\

** [[CuteWitch Witch]] and [[CuteMonsterGirl Draco]] put on an act together, apparently organized entirely by Witch. It's titled "The Beauty 'N the Beast!" The whole time, despite what Witch is saying, Draco is unaware that ''she'' [[TomatoInTheMirror is the titular beast.]]
--->'''Witch:''' This savage beast actually breathes FIRE when you bonk it on the head!\\
'''Draco:''' OUCH! WHY ARE YOU BONKING ME ON THE HEAD!? DON'T MAKE ME SCORCH YOU WITH MY FIRE-BREATH!

'''Ess:''' Great idea! Anyone have a drill? OffWithHisHead
** And then when they all get Ringo to perform...
--->'''Ringo:''' NO! I'M ALLERGIC TO PERFORMING!
* Chapter 9 is an entire chapter of funny thanks to it having [[ADayInTheLimelight Schezo as the protagonist]]. It involves him trying to [[ThatCameOutWrong ask for Sig's hand]] to discover its secrets. And with Schezo being Schezo, misunderstandings obviously happen:
** Before the first match against Sig, Schezo insists him to show his hand:
--->'''Sig:''' This guy's rubbing me the wrong way.
--->'''Schezo:''' [[NotHelpingYourCase I would never rub you the wrong way!]]
--->'''Sig:''' What? Please... just don't.
** Before Klug is pressed by Schezo about Sig's whereabouts, the spirit in Klug's book begins to stir and bother the latter. His threats trying to quell the spirit are...ridiculously petty.
--->'''Klug:''' I'll leave you in the bathroom if you don't shut up!\\
...Or I'll leave you out in the sun and let you get sun damaged!\\
I'll make... creases in the upper right corners of your pages!
** After the match with Klug, Schezo demands to know why he doesn't want to tell where Sig went:
--->'''Klug:''' Well, it's just... he was trying to get away from YOU. Are you bothering him?
--->'''Schezo:''' Absolutely NOT! [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything I just want to examine him all over.]]
--->'''Klug:''' Ah, okay. ''({{beat}})'' [[DelayedReaction Wait, WHAT!?]]
** Before the match with Amitie, she tries to stall Schezo for time to Sig to flee:
--->'''Amitie:''' You're a bad man!
--->'''Schezo:''' Ha! Is that what you think? [[ThatCameOutWrong I just want to ask Sig for his hand.]]
--->'''Amitie:''' Uhm... what? This guy's weird.
** In the end, Schezo finally discovers the secret behind Sig's left hand. Said secret being that Sig uses his red hand to house a family of bugs. [[{{Squick}} Schezo immediately calls his hunt off.]] This is also the only time in the entire game where [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness Sig shows any kind of emotion.]]
** Thought the original was funny? Here's a [[https://youtu.be/z012_sX798Y fully animated version]] by animator Phui Jing Ling!
* The third battle in Chapter 10 involves Ex accidentally eavesdropping on Dark Prince's dreaming aloud a honeymoon with Arle on the Spaceship Tetra. Then there's Ex's [[StunnedSilence reaction]]...
--> '''Ex:''' *speechless* *speechless, continued*
* Ex encounters Accord in his dream...except this causes a bit of a contradiction considering Ex never met her personally. Accord decides to help him connect the dots by handing him homework to figure it out. His reaction is a humorously juvenile "Homework? Yuck!"
* Many {{Unsound Effect}}s, including:
** [=*=]Slightly-louder-than-average screaming[=*=]
** [=*=]Screaming loud enough to be heard in the vast vacuum of space[=*=]
** [=*=]Crowd-gone-wild cheer[=*=][[note]]Refers to Sig letting out a slightly more enthusiastic than normal "woooo" before the battle with the mesmerized Raffina.[[/note]]

** [=*=]Princely sigh[=*=]
** [=*=]Princely cry[=*=]
** [=*=]Robo-sigh[=*=]
** [=*=]Thinking Sounds[=*=]
* Some of the alternate voices are great. We get voices like Amitie acting ladylike (a la when she was hanging out with Ess, complete with the [[BrickJoke R-rolling!]]), Schezo sounding cutesy and happy, Dark Prince sounding {{Camp}}y with a voice akin to [[{{Anime/Pokemon}} James of Team Rocket]], Ecolo becoming a MotorMouth (as if he needed it!), Ai sounding like WesternAnimation/ScoobyDoo, Sig sounding more enthusiastic than normal (in a cute, dorky kind of funny), Jay & Elle sounding like CreepyTwins, Ringo and Tee sounding about ten years younger, and O and Ex sounding downright [[SuddenlyShouting PISSED.]]
** As for Japan's alternate voices, some include Sig going full-on PokemonSpeak, Schezo sounding like a little kid, Ai being uncharacteristically robotic, and Zed sounds hilariously melodramatic.
* Ringo's first reaction to Tetriminos.
-->'''Ringo:''' Look! Some of them fell into a solid line. It's so pleasing on the eyes... OH MY GOSH, DID YOU SEE THAT!? THE SOLID LINE JUST DISAPPEARED!
** What's even better is that [[EstablishingCharacterMoment this is the quote they use on the back of the box when advertising Adventure Mode]]. They knew what they were doing.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:''Puyo Puyo Chronicle'']]
[[/folder]]

[[folder: ''Puyo Puyo Tetris 2'']]
* The alt voices are once again an absolute riot. The crowning examples are Ringo stealing the spells of the other members of the 7 cast, Ess sounding like a SouthernBelle, Klug developing ElmuhFuddSyndwome, Feli sounding like a chainsmoker, Ai sounding like a stereotypical British constable, Sig acting like an old-timey game show host, Lemres being on a perpetual sugar high, Ecolo talking ''backwards'', Maguro sounding like he just woke up, Serilly talking underwater, and Ragnus talking like an Australian.
** In addition, they bring back the alt voices Ex and the Dark Prince had from Puyo Puyo Tetris 1 for another round. They're as funny as ever.
* And the {{Unsound Effect}}s have been kicked UpToEleven too:
** Ess: ''*A squeal so pure and childlike, reminiscent of a simpler time to which we can never truly return to*''
** Amitie: *Petrified babble*
** Tee: *Uncharacteristically high-pitched shriek*
* So as Arle encounters Schezo and deals with his usual word mangling, she's surprised to hear that he's trying to fix his problem...[[ImmediateSelfContradiction then instantly contradicts himself when trying to prove it]].
-->'''Schezo:''' "I'll be on top of this soon enough!\\
I'll even be on top of you, too!"
* Schezo came to Arle for a reason, and that reason being is Witch. She's being...incredibly affectionate, to the point of copying Schezo's "I want you!" CatchPhrase, and he needed Arle to confirm that something is up with her. Considering this is technically ''not'' the first time it's happened, the proof is questionable.
* Ecolo intentionally getting corrupted just so Ringo would help him personally.
** Tee comments that Ecolo must be desprate to resort to that.
*** Ringo's reluctance to help, characterized by a tight lipped smile and a groan, makes the scene even better.
* Despite everything he does for the cast, Ex has his share of being the butt of the joke. Ringo makes fun of his fashion sense quite often to name just a few instances. The best reaction must be when Tee says that Ex is a hassle and Ringo jumps in on the teasing. We are treated to Ex gasping as if Tee had insulted his mother and even invoking EtTuBrute.
* At one point during a side story, Ex gets so fed up with Ecolo that he actually silences him, presumably by holding a hand over his mouth.
* When Marle is broken free from Squares' control, she attempts to explain what she knows about herself and him, only to be stopped by Arle. Not because she's choking on exposition overload, but because Amitie's fallen asleep from the overload.
** The fact half the chapter is about people suddenly having an urge to have battles for no good reason.
* While Marle tries to explain her story, Ecolo wants to see Ringo smile. They both go offscreen and ''something'' happens between the two of them that has Ringo complain about [[LeaningOnTheFourthWall "doing stuff we can't show to the audience."]]
* The main cast making fun of Squares being mentally a child after Tee points it out and Marle confirms it can be hilarious. Especially because Satan and Ecolo are two of the ones to call him out. This is a perfect example of HypocriticalHumor at work.
* Even with self-awareness sprinkled in, Schezo's innuendos are a riot. He can't save himself trying to correct his blunders, sometimes digging himself deeper trying.
** Aboard the Tetra, Ess, Maguro and co. are passing time by doing beauty contests, with Witch dragging Schezo in. She's right about two things: he has a winning face, but his vocabulary is terrible. And he proves the latter with "Well, muscular bodies keep ME satisfied!". Then when Schezo attempts to salvage his blunder, he groans as if he knew he was six feet under and has to give up. Nobody buys it for a second.
** Then when attempting to justify battling Arle as rivals, he utters "You and I are bound and gagged together!", which is ''really'' bad even for his own standards.
* Witch has absolutely no shame in trying to brew (and possibly murder) Suketoudara in her cauldron all for the sake of making another potion.
* This gem from Chapter 5, referring to [[ButtMonkey Draco]]:
-->'''Marle:''' Is this a friend of yours, Witch?\\
'''Witch:''' Kind of. Not really. She's in my life and there's nothing I can do about it.
* Ecolo being disappointed that there wasn't an explosion happening after the plot is about to wrap up. Come the final battle, Marle warns everyone that if nothing is done about the power going out of control in Squares, he'll ''literally'' explode.

* In ''Yon'', Arle's group makes it to the ruins, to which Draco takes notice of a sleeping dragon. Serilly is understandably afraid, Arle tries to find a way to sneak by, Witch finds it as a golden opportunity to harvest some ''dragon snot'' for a potion.
* In the LightNovel ''Satan's Space Amusement Park'', Arle, Amitie and Ringo are roped into a Beauty Contest with Draco and Witch for a stamp for their rally card. Everyone gets dressed up, but... are in outfits you wouldn't expect from a typical contest.
** Amitie: An utter CosmeticCatastrophe. She had the right idea, but poor in execution.
** Ringo: Maiko, in an attempt to highlight Japanese elegance.
** Draco: An animal costume, which is ironic considering she's all about beauty contests.
** Witch: Punk rock style, complete with ChainedByFashion.

** For mobile users or in case Website/YouTube does away with annotations, the eight shorts above with edited in subtitles with some [[UnsoundEffect Unsound Effects]] and Woolseyisms thrown in: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOKl7eUTNo8 Here.]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAvzpajWkWI Rugby]]: During the end of a rugby football game, Mini-Zombie gets the ball and uses his head to get it past the goalpost.
* Compile occasionally spoofed the Creator/MetroGoldwynMayer lion during their run. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuQFWbXCQFY Puyo Puyo Masters - Memorial Digest]] opens with none other than Carbuncle roaring at the audience, and the Mega Drive/Genesis version of ''Madou Monogatari I'' has both [[https://youtu.be/1fhM4G6QAWE?t=13s Carbuncle]] (minus the lion roar) and [[https://youtu.be/1fhM4G6QAWE?t=47s Arle]].
* In ''Puyo Puyo Champions'', defeating your opponent with a [[CherryTapping 1-chain]] will give the battle results as "The ultimate attack!"

* In seeking out Feli, Ringo ends up walking in on her trying to ''kill someone with a VoodooDoll curse''. Alternatively, if you have Raffina handle Feli, they come to a mutual understanding and Puyo Battle...through nothing but Raffina's NoblewomansLaugh and Feli's occult screeching. Ringo is understandably baffled at what just happened.
