** The fact that the trio instantly saw through Coral and Sidian's disguises because in the previous series, when Team Rocket wears a disguise, Ash and his friends would always fall for it despite [[PaperThinDisguise how obvious it is]]. So the fact that the villain's PaperThinDisguise doesn't work the first time comes as a big surprise for the audience who's used to this trope in the series.

** When everyone hears a customer complaining at Katy's shop, they go investigate it to learn that Coral is causing the commotion because she came over to try the limited cake only to learn it's sold out. When Roy is about to tell her they already ate the limited cake, Liko immediately covers his mouth so he doesn't add more fuel to the fire.

** Friede then insists they stop at the nearby city to restock, which Orla is against, as it would delay their arrival in Paldea. Friede proceeds to leave the decision to ''Pikachu'', then immediately latches onto the first confused "Pika?" that comes out of his mouth and insists it was his way of agreeing with him. Judging by Orla's reaction, it wasn't the first time he did something like that.
