* In series 3, episode 4, the main plot revolves around an expectant patient with a Jewish immigrant mother, who has not left her home in 12 years. She is suffering from a medical condition that causes vertigo and trauma from living through the war. Sister Winifred tries to help her, but to no avail. After her granddaughter is born, she is finally able to bring herself to leave the apartment, and turns a heartwarming moment into a funny one when the first thing she does is scold her daughter (who is showing the baby off to the neighbors) that the baby is not warm enough and will catch pneumonia. It stands out as the only light moment in an otherwise depressing episode.
