* The Splattershot line of progression (Jr., Normal, Pro) Reflects the evolution of water guns during the early to mid 90's, and their specs reflect this. The Jr is based on old squirt guns that squirt low amounts of water per shot and commonly had clear bodies, the Jr has short range and low power but can fire for a long time due to the low ink each shot has. The regular Splattershot is based on the Super Soaker 50, one of the first pressure pump water guns and the standard gun of the line, as such being the JackofAllStats. Finally, the Pro is based on the Super Soaker CPS-2000, one of the most powerful water guns ever made thanks to it's water bladder CPS system, but the same system also made it slow to repump between shots and used up a lot of water in a matter of seconds, thus the Pro has higher damage, but lower fire rate and higher ink consumption.

* So the Sunken Scrolls indicated that inklings are invertebrates, and Marie snarks that Callie can't break a bone if she doesn't have any. How the heck are they able to stand then? (considering people hold their shape primarily because of their bones).

OK... and birds survived unevolved because they can migrate and adapt a bit easier, fair enough, insects are probably okay as well... but if all this is true, ''where the hell are all the whales?'' Especially since we've seen representatives from basically every other major phyla, save maybe coral? Cetaceans are, in some ways, even more intelligent than cephalopods, so why in the dickens don't they seem to have any representation in the new world?]]

* Instead of stealing the Great Zapfish and other smaller Zapfish, why couldn't the Octarians just ask nicely for spare Zapfish, or a power contract? [[TakeYourTime Inkopolis didn't go black after the Great Zapfish disappeared]], and it isn't treated as a national or citywide emergency by Callie and Marie in their news cast, so there has to be enough spare power sources that they didn't care enough to send a military force, instead they sent Cuttlefish and a random teenager who's an expert at a recreational sport. Also, depending on the interpetation of the credits and the post-credits Octo Valley, [[spoiler:didn't they make peace and weren't the Octarians EasilyForgiven,]] meaning there's space for negotiations?
** Maybe the Octarians tried theft before diplomacy just because Octavio, apparently the Octarian king, is an antisocial jerk?
** I was kind of under the impression that [[CassandraTruth nobody believed Cuttlefish about the Octarians stealing the Zapfish]], or that just for some other reason no one but Cuttlefish and Agents 1-3 knew it was them who stole it. As such, maybe the Octarians stole the Zapfish because they knew it'd get them exactly what they wanted, which might not happen with negotiation, and that they wouldn't face much resistance doing so.
* [[spoiler:If the human race died out completely,]] who's running the Squid Research Lab?
** Perhaps they are actually [[spoiler:time travellers]]? That, or maybe it's because [[MST3KMantra it's a video game about shapeshifting squid kids, and we should really just relax]].
* Inklings can apparently take showers somehow?

* How do Inklings know of dogs when [[spoiler:Judd is apparently the only living land mammal]]?
** That's just an assumption. Nothing in the game says that.
** Not the game itself, but the developers say the Inklings know about [[spoiler:life 12000 years ago]] due to the faxing machine used for Splatfests, which transmits [[spoiler:messages from the present time in the form of radio waves that bounced off of another planet or moon back to Earth.]]
** Then why would anyone pick the Dog side if [[spoiler: Dogs don't even exist anymore?]]
*** Dragons don't exist, yet a Dragon vs something elsewould definitely have people cheering for the dragons.

* Most of the Octarians are octopus tentacles. Real life octopodes have brains in each of their tentacles. So, perhaps the tentacle Octarians are cultivated from a "parent" Octarian by chopping them off and letting them fight for them, or maybe they're even harvested from the final boss. Also, octopus tentacles grow back.

** More brilliance: The 'true' Octarians, already dealing with a crisis of living space, are unwilling to risk themselves on dangerous missions to steal Zapfish from Inkopolis, and so they make clone soldiers and such using their donor tentacles to beef up and mechanise their forces, only having their Elites take to the field as Octoling and Elite Octoling troopers.

* The Octolings and Octostriker stages in single player involve a group of Octarians invading certain areas of the surface; then how come Agent 3 is the only one there to stop them? Well, these stages take place either at night or what seems to be dawn. Remember how one of the earlier Sunken Scrolls said that, during the start of the Great Turf War, Octarians were winning because Inklings couldn't wake up early enough in the morning to defend themselves? A century worth of history or not, some things just don't change.

The first three times, the guy's got himself under control and is continually working the [=CDs=]. However, after the third time, Agents 1 and 2 override his music and put on some of their own. At this point, Capt. Cuttlefish and Octavio both start jazzing out and hopping to the beat. When you knock Octavio's ship for a loop at this point, he gets knocked flying out of it. This is because he doesn't have himself suckered into place on the ship. He's got his tentacles up in the air. The music actually helped make him more vulnerable.
