* Yuri's full name, while given a storyline explanation with his MixedAncestry, edges dangerously close to AsLongAsItSoundsForeign in English, and edges close to nonsense (Urmnaf "Uru" Bort Hyuga) in Japanese. Especially if you know anything about how Russian middle names work. [[spoiler: Well, of course it was - he was named by his "Russian" mother who wanted to name him something Russian-sounding but didn't really know how because she didn't know any Russian, given that she was an amnesiac woman from Germany.]]

* Some characters like Alice, Halley, Anastasia, and Johnny have rather low SP, while some characters like the vampires have ridiculously high SP. FridgeBrilliance because the vampires are used to seeing supernatural things, have lived longer, and are thus desensitized; whereas the others have been relatively sheltered. Naturally, SP Growth is them being more "Desensitized" as they become used to seeing these creatures and fighting them. The Harmonixers always have high SP because, well, that power threatens to drive them insane so they have to get used to it.

* In ''Covenant'' the village that Karen is investigating has very odd random encounters: killer toys like pull-string lions, duckies and so on. It makes more sense when you realize one of the party members you get later on is Gepetto. The game never says it outright but he probably was controlling all those toys to defend the village.
* Anastasia's SummonMagic operates through a camera and pictures; and she can't use the SummonMagic until she attains the proper picture. This is actually FridgeBrilliance because some people used to believe that cameras would steal your soul.

* In ''From the New World'', all of Hilda's Magical Arts are one level easier to cast (they have one less Green hit area than normal). It becomes logical once you realize that it is because she is a few-century old vampire with so much experience. Unlike Joachim, who learns his attacks fresh, Hilda is both an expert mage and creates these attacks herself, allowing for smoother and easier casts. This applying moreso to her offensive spells though.

* Imagine for a sec how Alice feels in the canonical ending... she knows she doesn't have much time left.

* One of the monsters you face in the late-stretch of the game is Alyosh. Its entry reads, ''Embodiment of the resentment felt by those who died unfair deaths. Hates being stared at in terror or amazement. Scoops out the eyeballs of offending gawkers.'' [[spoiler: Alyosh probably wasn't born from general Malice but the one that sprung from Grace and Johnny who died in a car accident.]] This implies that they not only lived for a bit before succumbing to their injuries, but people were also gawking at their suffering and didn't help them.
* As long as Johnny lives, he's at risk of [[spoiler: turning into a mindless monster because his entire body is still suffused with Malice]].

* FridgeBrilliance:

** As we find out from Koudelka (In the manga), Roger and Albert, the Emigre' manuscript's use as an ArtifactOfDoom is only it's most limited function. If you are not blindsided by the promise of power and instead take a more philosophical view of life you will instead realize that the book is a solid method of deciphering God's plan A.K.A. reality it-self, leading to ''a '''lot''''' more you can do with it than use simple spells.
*** Roger himself has comprehended reality which is why there is NoFourthWall for him, he knows his reality is a video-game and he can see you!
*** This taken to it's logical extreme would also mean this is why Albert has no delusions of being anything other than a villain, he knows BigBad is his assigned role.
** In ''Shadow Hearts 1'' it seems like it would have been pretty useful if [[SquishyWizard Alice and Zhuzhen ]] waited for Margarete to join them when checking out the monster infested town of Bistritz, even when [[spoiler: the person asking for their help was killed.]] But remember what Terry said? ''Bullets don't work on them''. [[TheGunslinger Margerete]] wouldn't have been much help anyway.

*** To underline just how little good is left in this world, the first Shadow Hearts game revealed that [[spoiler:God Himself is not a benevolent creator, but an alien abomination that wants to destroy all of humanity. And you kill Him. What this says about the state of the afterlife and all of existence is very troubling.]]
** Consider what was ''going'' to happen to Anastasia and her brother...and consider that they were ''around that age in real life'' when this was unfolding. But you can [[SugarWiki/SweetDreamsFuel rest easily]] - knowing that '''A)''' the ending applies Kurando and Anastasia got together (And maybe Anastasia moved to Japan) and '''B)''' The timeline was possibly altered a lot, not just because of the StableTimeLoop but also because you go in and rescue the Romanov family.
** You know that island where you fight that cat monster? You're not the first to go there...Lucia and her master have been targeted by Sapientes Glado numerous times.
** What if Yuri's not the only one who has the malice of monsters manifest itself?

This actually makes sense when you consider he's not had that much time to ''train'' his abilities and that they sometimes pop up when he is having a tantrum. (He even shouts, "Gah! I hate you! I hate you!" when using his psychic powers.)
** The Sanity Points. Vampires always have high SP because they're used to seeing supernatural creatures on a day-to-day basis. People like Alice, Halley, Karin, and Anastasia who have low SP aren't so they're getting used to seeing these monsters. They also grow as they level up; as the character of course gets more and more desensitized to the existence of monsters, so it quite ''literally'' takes more to drive them insane, likewise, the vampire's SP never goes up because they've SeenItAll. The Harmonixers always have high SP because, well, that power threatens to drive them insane so they have to get used to it.
