* The show justifies itself with its SparedByAdaptation difference to ''[[Series/TokusouSentaiDekaranger Dekaranger]]'', along with being the only ''Franchise/PowerRangers'' series [[OddballInTheSeries where the heroes don't destroy every villain they fight]]. ''Power Rangers'' tends to make itself more kid-friendly than ''Franchise/SuperSentai'' by removing most of the mature and violent themes of the latter. In ''Dekaranger'''s case, these themes were the probable cause that resulted in the Alienizers being deleted. In ''S.P.D'', the criminals never did anything heinous enough (save for occasional mentions of OffstageVillainy) to deserve being destroyed.

* One episode has mind control wear off of the Rangers when they morph. So (comics aside) we know the A-Squad was NotBrainwashed the moment we see them in morph.

* There's also a bit of twisted irony in that the A-Squad's suits consist of props from the same series that's well known for its own set of [[ThePsychoRangers evil rangers.]]

* Meta example: Assuming the [=Super Sentai/Power Rangers=] franchises are around long enough, how will the timeline be handled when the viewers are living in 2025, the year in which S.P.D. is set?
** Most likely, either this series or that series will be Retconed into being an AlternateUniverse.
** Creator/{{Hasbro}} bought the rights to the franchise and are planning a full ContinuityReboot for 2025, so the 2025 series wil be set in an AlternateContinuity to SPD.
* At the end of the series, Bridge and Sky are both promoted when Jack retires, and inherit their predecessor's ranger colors as a result. If this is the case, and if the Yellow and Pink Rangers are handled the same way, [[PinkIsForSissies what happens when a male reaches the Pink Power Ranger rank]]?

** Also consider that the Battlizer's primary weapon is a sword. Cruger could have been planning the Battlizer for Jack for a while.

* Why does only Cruger train only Jack in sword fighting? Jack's firearms consist of two blasters as opposed to everyone else whose gun can turn into a sword.

* What exactly happened that made A-Squad side with Gruumm? I know in the comics they were BrainwashedAndCrazy, but what about the show?
