Misplaced, moving to the correct tab

* Going on the above, what if Nebbercracker actually '''dropped dead''' of a heart attack. Leaving aside there being no one who could stop Constance from going on a rampage, how would ''she'' have reacted? [[TogetherInDeath Would she have simply departed to the afterlife with Nebbercracker]]? Or would she continue to attack people who go near her? Or would she go even more crazy with Nebbercracker not at home with her?

!!FridgeLogic
* Let's just say that if you're going to throw dynamite into a fireplace, you needn't worry about lighting the fuse first.
** First, you could counter-argue that with the supernatural being involved, it's better to be safe than sorry. But even if you agree that it was a dumb move, perhaps DJ as a kid might not have known better. More importantly, at that time he was busy [[AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever surviving against the house]] so in the heat of action such a mistake is more understandable.
** The Monster House demonstrates that it can control ''all'' parts of itself, including its floorboards and clearly knows what dynamite is based on how it reacted to Nebbercracker bringing out a bundle. It's entirely possible it could have used its interior to get the dynamite out the fireplace before it went off, so having it pre-ignited was the best way to get it to reliably go off. Possibility not, considering the intense heat of the fire, but as mentioned above, better safe than sorry.
** Actually, an exchange between DJ and Chowder in one of the movie script's early [[https://wikileaks.org/sony/docs/03_03/Mktrsch/Market%20Research/Scripts/Released/MONSTER%20HOUSE%2010-19-04.pdf drafts]] ''acknowledges'' this. It was merely cut from the movie.

* Nebbercracker suffering a heart attack was probably long overdue: on top of having to play an angry old man, the added stress of dealing with a vengeful house for a wife, having no real friends, and living a life of isolation would've also damaged his heart.

Added DiffLines:

** It is possible that he had all his groceries and medical bills delivered (considering that he had a telephone, which Constance used to intimidate DJ) and had some kind of unemployment income. It wouldn't be unreasonable to believe that he was able to talk Constance into letting any doctors or delivery people onto the property ''just'' for quick visits before hastily sending them on their way.

Added DiffLines:

** The yellow color could've just been due to the house's lighting and their flashlights.

** Assuming they didn't get eaten offscreen, who's to say ''they'' weren't the ones who started the rumors of Nebbercracker being a cannibal who fattened up his wife and subsequently murdered and ate her?

It's never, EVER, right to judge or mock someone for their weight.

* Horrifically, Constance dies from the one thing everyone was bullying her over: her weight. She only falls into the cement pit because her feet are squeezed into shoes she's too fat for and she can't regain her balance. The kids, in this situation, ''were right'' - though went about it wrong - because if she was thinner, she could have regained her balance or not fallen at all.
